we don't have balls, but in "high school"/college? we have this ball on our second year - my first dress pic is me in my that ball dress.
It's called "Old's/Senior's Dance/Ball" - because it's after the third/last years have left to prepare for their final exams - they have no classes left. :) It's a big tradition - country wise. :) The day before the third years have their party - well... that's totally different, driving around in the town on a truck - dressed accoring school's theme... (we did not have one - I dressed as color black cause I haven't got that much imagination ;)) - day school had Men in Black theme - they were :cool:

I loved the Senior's Ball as we dress up like 19th, 18th century :) Of course, the ballroom dances took some practising! :eek:

We have forma dances called proms... but I always skip. :o ;) All it is is people in dresses and tuxes bumping and grinding to rap and hip hop. I have no interest in being there. :D

At school today, I mistakenly mentioned "this awesome dress I found online" to my friends... and found myself telling them all about the Yule Ball. I didn't even have to tell them who I was going with. :o :D

Oooh Bridget! Oliver will love your dress! I'm not sure how his Quidditch robes would look next to it, but... ;)

I'm not in the mood for pools right now. Half of my Calculus homework involves this IMPOSSIBLE pool problem... and I spent an hour trying to figure it out.

(btw, I did get my elf ears on plenty of time, and I wore them to the midnight showing, as well as many other times. :LOL: It was so fun. I was one of the only ones that dressed-up, but I got a lot of compliments, though.:) )

Everyone waits outside the great hall doors, waiting for the head boy and girl to open up the ball

Just as everyone starts to get restless a loud stomping sound is heard somewhere off in the distance...... Everyone jumps and wonders what it is..... They brush it off and think nothing of it.... Then it's sounded again, and this time the room seems to get warmer around them all

Fleur: What is that???

Túvo: Oh, sorry, it's been a while since my last meal.

Fleur: I don't think that's it....

The sound is heard again... And again, this time the stomps are closer together, and getting louder all the time..... Another stomp is hear and this time they also hear someone screaming "YEEEEEEEEE-HAAAAAAA!!"..... They all look around the corner and see Cedric and FleurD riding atop a beautiful peruvian vipertooth. They speed up toward the doors and skid to a stop right in front of it. Cedric and FleurD hop off.

Cedric (to the vipertooth): There's a nice garden in the back, pal, hang out there till we're ready for ya, okay?

The dragon puffs smoke out of his nostrils in agreement

Ced edges his way through the crowd to the door

I oficially open this, the Yule Ball of 2002.

Fleur and Tuvo come out of the changing room, and Fleur zaps both their clothes into perfect array ;)

Tuvo snaps his fingers and bells are heard in the distance. Everybody looks up, and sees a red and green star. It comes closer, and sees it is actually a Santa's sleigh being pulled by 8 reindeer!

Fleur and Tuvo get in the back, and Sanat pulls on the reins and away they go into the beautiful Grand Hall.

Fleur: Oh by the way, the presents in the back are for all you guys!

A gust of wind blew the door open to reveal sands and clouds and the outline of pyramids in the background. When one looked closely, one could see two figures standing amidst the blowing sand. Finally, the door closed and the sand settled and everyone stopped to see a snowman shaped thing... except the snow was missing-- there was sand in it's stead. The guests were startled when the sandman started coughing. The sands shifted to reveal a young girl a tuxedo under all that sand. She blinked, yellow grains still staining her suit and mangled in her hair, which was poking out of the top hat placed on her head. Rolling her eyes, she pulled out her wand and muttered an incantation. The dust and grime disappeared and the girl stood smiling and sparkling clean.

That's better! Now, where's my date?

The girl whom the guests had by now identified as the Strange and intelligence impaired Ravenclaw

Ahem... I mean, the stunning and brilliant Ravenclaw *coughnotcough*. Well, Ravenclaw looked around for her companion, who was no where in sight. A timid knock on the door made Raven's eyes go wide.

Oops.

She turned and answered the door to see a second sandman. She dug behind the sand and pulled out an arm and pulled the thing in the room, slamming the door behind her.

Heh heh...

She brushed the sand off of her 'date' and smiled. A tall, black-haired man also in a tuxedo looked around, dazed.

Igor: Where are we...?

Ravenclaw: Shut up. We're at the ball.

Igor: WEEEE!!!

Ravenclaw: Misbehave and you're gone, like, poof gone, you hear?

Igor nods, a sad look on his face as his cruel and unfeeling mistress/date--

Ravenclaw: Who are you to judge???

-- Completely disregarded the narator's power at making her do whatever the narator wanted her to do and as consequence, ended up doing standing on her head while trying to touch her nose with her tongue.

Upside-down Ravenclaw:..... Mmph....???

Cedric: Welcome, Rave! We've been waiting for, er, interesting people such as yourself to show up and make this more interesting.

Ravenclaw (tongue still trying to reach her nose): :) 'Ank.

All: wha?

Ravenclaw: ANK!

All: huh?

She means to say 'thanks' but she can't.

Fleur: Oh, right.

Bored, the narator allowed FleurDelacour to roll her eyes and help Ravenclaw to her feet. He then rolled his eyes and left the scene. Who needs you all anyway? Goodness, I need a better job... I wonder if Arby's has and opening...

HEY! I'm here! You can all rejoice!

Since my narator has quit, I will coment. Um, let's see...

Ravenclaw goes over and hangs a mistletoe in the middle of the hall.

"Can't have a ball without mistletoe! Hugs to all and Merry Christmas!"

Fleur and Túvo hop off the sleigh, starting to lob presents at everyone. When the sled's empty, they let the reindeer run free to the gardens - though far away from the dragon. :eek: On their way, the reindeer manage to empty the fruit bowl which just happened to be in their way. :rolleyes:

Túvo: I... I .... wanted to tell you...

He reaches out and pulls her towards him, wrapping his arms around her and resting his chin on top of her head. He can smell the enthralling smell of her hair, and the cold night air caught in her dress.
But he can't find the words to express what he wanted to say, the importance and the seriousness of how very much her coming to the ball with him meant to him... So he reaches down and puts his hands on his shoulders, pulls her towards him and :kiss: her - tentatively at first, since they had rarely kissed before - and then with greater urgency, Fleur standing up on tip-toe to get as close to him as possible. Túvo is glad he's holding Fleur tight right now, because the bones in his knees seemed to have turned to butter.

Túvo smoothes his shirt, tightens his tie, and bows to Fleur. He makes a sign towards the band, which starts playing a heart-throb tango.

Túvo: Fleur, would you like to dance with me ? :)

"Well, at least she has good taste," sighs Swifty. She pats her horse, Isildi, that Aragorn gave her for their anniversary. (Yes the horse is inside.:rolleyes: )

She mutters and incantion under her breath ".....mutter, mutter, fickle fate, turn this horse into a DATE!:D

*POOF*

"Yeah, that's right, I'm a poof," says the young man now standing in place of Isildi.

Fleur, hearing the noise, turns from her enrapturing converstation with Aragorn about the length of his sword.....

She gasps. "WILL????!!!":eek:

Ravenclaw: Don't you think you've said enough?

You shouldn't have made him up in the first place if you were going to ignore him all night! You have no one to blame but yourself. And you aren't even matching! You're both in tuxes.

The narrator glares at Ravenclaw, angrily and Ravenclaw sighs and looks back at Igor, who is flipping glumly through the picture book she had just read him. Rolling her eyes again, Ravenclaw smiled, guilt finally warming her grinch-like small heart.

Ravenclaw: This is Igor... He, um... he's bored and the narrator's giving me a hard time because he thinks I'm mistreating him.

Colli glances at Snape, who is looking at Igor as if he were some disgusting thing he found when he turned over a rock.

Colli: Now, dear, behave! Any friend of Ravenclaw's is a friend of ours, you do well to remember that!

Gamsie and Ron dash off together again, waving at Onesie and Sirius. They hit the dance floor and Ron sweeps Gamsie into his arms yet again.

Just then a gust of wind blew the door open to reveal Legolas and Eowyn on a moon-silver steed. Moonlight and starlight play gently across their embracing figures. Eowyn's velvet cloak (a gift from Legolas:D) falls gently down as the horse came to a halt

Eowyn: Vedui'(Hello Everyone).Sorry guys, we were delayed....*hehe* (her eyes twinkle, as she looks back as Legolas) I hope we haven't missed too much. :o

Legolas: (Looks at Eowyn and blushes slightly) Um....yes

Legolas then dismounts and lifts his lady gently off of the horse (Silme) and sets her down. He then whispers something in the horse's ear, and the horse nickered and went off.

Legolas: (whispers) Vanimle sila tiri, melisse.
(Your beauty shines bright, my love)

Eowyn: (blushes, then whispers) It is because you are with me, Will you sing to me now, please, you promised you would sing to me tonight, melindo.

Legolas: Ilsinome, melisse, ilsii. Eruseen tirne.
(Not here, my love, not now. There are others watching.)

Eowyn: (Looks at Legolas with big elvish puppy-dog eyes)

Legolas: All right, how could I resist, melisse.

They slip off into a corner of room. Legolas, in a soft voice hardly to be heard amid the noise of the crowd around them, began to sing, blending living night and deep dreams...

She grabs his hand and they quickly run over to Swifty and Aragorn. After exchanging greetings, and chatting for a bit. Eowyn and Legolas decide to dance and they hit the dance floor again.

Raven: Once again: *gag!* Honestly, must everything be so mushy? I mean, everyone's all "I love you so much" "No, I love you more," "No, I love YOU more..." Really! It's a party, not make out point! I mean, I can't believe it, there's a perfectly good band playing and you have to be all luvy dubby. ACK! Seriously-- And no, I did not say Siriusly-- You need to snap out of it and dance! Voice behind Raven: Excuse me?

Raven turns around and freezes, her mouth dropping at what she sees.

Raven (gushing): Dashingly wonderful!

Mystery Guy: Er, right. I heard there was a party here and Ben and Jen are, um, preoccupied. Therefor, I have resolved never to go on a double date with them alone. Hi, my name's Matt, how are you?

Matt Damon grins and holds his hand out to Ravenclaw, who simply stares.

Matt: What is it, cat got your tongue? (laugh) Um, your hair's coming out.

Matt reaches a hand to tuck a stray strand of Ravenclaw's hair back under her top hat and brushes her cheek. She giggles like a school girl.

Matt: Um, yes. Well, you wouldn't be able to tell me where the food is, would you?

Raven: Ravenclaw!

Matt: Gazuntite.

Raven: (laughing nervously) No, it's my name. (Composing herself and offering her hand). Let's start again. Hi, I'm Ravenclaw, but you can call me Rave or Raven or yours-- I mean, what every suits you. :o

Matt: Uh huh... You know, I've always found a girl in a top hat quite attractive.

Raven (eyes lighting up and grinning): You have?! Brilliant!

Matt: Hey, um, you wanna dance? After we get some food, of course.

Raven nods vigorously.

Matt: Right then, off we go!

Offering his arm, Matt leads the stricken Ravenclaw off to the food table.

Just then, Kurt Wagner (better know as Nightcrawler from the X-Men or the Blue-Fuzzy-Elf) drops from the ceiling, where he had been watching the party for some time, and gracefully lands in the center of the dance floor. Being the suave gentleman that he is, he sweeps Eowyn away from Legolas and begins to dace with her. Legolas, attempt several, unsuccessful bouts to get her back, but Kurt is a match for the Elf's agility and speed.

Legolas: Eowyn, mellisse! (he cried out as though he was in pain)

Then there was a pause in the music (the band was taking a breather.)

Eowyn: Legolas, melindo (she cried out in return)

Kurt: What, you wish to be with just an Elf, while you could have a blue, fuzzy, elf?

Eowyn: Umm....Yes

Legolas: You took too long to answer that; it is as though you stab me with a knife.

Eowyn: Legolas, I'm sorry, it's the pointy ears, it has to be.

Legolas: I have them too!

Eowyn: I know, :swoon: yours are the most perfect!
(pleading him) I choose you Legolas, melindo, please, take me back now.

Legolas: I will.

Eowyn and Legolas start toward one another, then...

Kurt: Hey! Have you all forgotten about Me!!!!! :mad: (he wraps his tail around Eowyn, clutching her, he begins to climb a wall)

Legolas leaps up after Kurt and grabs his tail (he had released it's wraps from Eowyn once she was in his arms) and pulls him down. Both of them were now very upset. Eowyn struggles free from Kurt's grasp and runs over to Legolas.

Eowyn: Legolas, let him be, he has done no harm. It was as though there was a spell upon me, but now I am free of it. Let him be, I do not think he will cause you any more hurt tonight.

Legolas: No, he has tried to steal my lady, he must atone for his sins.

Legolas draws one of his long knives and advances toward Kurt. Eowyn tries vainly to stop him. Then all of a sudden there was a:
BAMF!
And Kurt disappeared. Eowyn calmed down Legolas, speaking softly in Elvish to him. Then Kurt came out of the shadows.

Kurt: (nervously) I meant no harm, it was just a bit of fun.

BAMF!

Kurt disappeared in a puff of smoke and brimstone stench.

Eowyn: It is over now, melindo.

Legolas: I know, mellisse, I could never hold that against you. Lle merna salk? (Shall we dance?)

Eowyn: Yes.

They stroll out on to the dance floor, and begin to dance again. But a glowing pair of yellow eyes watched them from the shadows.

Legolas: (whispering) We are being watched.

Eowyn: (whispering) Yes, by Kurt. Oh and by the way, that was my over-protective shape-shifting father, posing as Kurt Wagner, the form of one of my crushes, he just doesn't want to see me hurt, and we passed his test. He just told me through the telepathic rapor we share.:D

Ravenclaw stares continuously at Matt as he sips his butterbeer, completely in awe of the actor.

Matt: What is this? It doesn't seem alcoholic, it's cold, and yet, I feel all warm and happy. [glances at Raven] Maybe it's not the drink...

Raven: *giggles*

Matt: *pause.* No, wait, yes it is.

Raven grunts and her smile fades

Matt (looking around): Hey, Bono!

Matt strides over to the band, leaving Ravenclaw looking pathetic and lonely. We can't all have happy endings with our loved ones! Awe, Rave, don't look so pitiful. You really think a super rich, super famous actor would see something in you?

Ravenclaw: *nods sadly*

Awe, come on, you're breaking my heart, girl! You're more pathetic than Igor... Oh, don't give me that look, I-- Are you crying? Oh, come on, this wasn't my fault, OK, it was Matt, he's a real person who cannot be manipulated like a character, I...

The Narrator trails off and Ravenclaw's pitiful self begins to narrate for him.

Please, Rave! You're not pitiful, just...

He falters again, feeling guilty.

I do NOT feel guilty! Well, maybe just a little bit... OH all right! Let's see, what other people do you like.... he's married... dating.... married... engaged.... dating... Oh, well what the heck?

POOF!

Guy: Um, excuse me?

Ravenclaw's pitiful look disappears and she beams at the new man before her.

Guy: Could you, um, tell me where my date went?

Ravenclaw grins and offers her arm.

Raven: Why, right here, my dear Josh!

Josh Hartnett smiles and accompanies Ravenclaw onto the dance floor. And so, thanks to Ravenclaw's great ability at making me feel guilty, we all get happy endings.... in posts.... this will continue... I hope not.

Hey, I'm not dating a character at all... I'm not really dating anyone... just kinda swooned over Matt Damon and danced with Josh Hartnett. At least I know enough to go after rich celebrities! lol!

And the baddies are usually much more tasteful than the good guys (defending your choices here, girls). I mean, good guys are soooooooo boring sometimes. Like Angel, I mean, he's so disgusting and swoony over Buffy and then her turns evil and he's SO funny and has a much better wardrobe... OK, sorry, my bro got me the entire Buffy season two on DVD for x-mas... I think I'm the only one who likes Angel better when he doesn't have a soul and is beating Buffy up.

Besides, back on topic here, good guys are always like "Oh, sorry gal, but I gotta go save the world" and dumps her for the greater good. Girls like attention, and though she may feel good about her honey saving people's lives, who knows he's telling the truth? I mean, like when Angel went patrolling and Buffy caught him with Drusilla... Whoa, too much... Anyway...

Baddies, they just say, "You're my world. Do you want money? I can get you money. You want fame? I'll get you fame. You wanna destroy the world? Destroy it with me, baby!" Like Spike and Drusilla... (Yes, I will stop with the old buffy analogies and referances to episodes no one remembers). So you see why girls like the baddies over the superheros. More attention.

Yes they're all very lovely and nice, the good guys (espesh Aragorn :swoon: ) But they're always adventrue and Draco-ness with baddies! :D And Draco is just confused, his father was a death-eather, he doesn't know right from wrong ;) lol Ravenclaw! :D

Bah! Egypt is so boring! There are no parties! Everyone's gone to like, Mexico and the States and Europe and my guitar-crazed rockstar wannabe of a friend is grounded (as usual) and he can't do anything on New Years either which sux. ANYWAYS.

Ravenclaw, smiling, pulls Josh on stage. Josh is confused and looks at her with a questioning look.

Josh: Rave, what are you doing?

Raven ignores him and grins at the band, where Matt is amiably chatting with them.

Raven: Josh, honey, you're strong, why don't you go and hit Matt really--

Josh joins the intriguing conversation and laughs and jokes with Matt and the band.

Things just weren't going her way tonight! So, the Narrator decided to bring in one last attempt to please her. This time, a character that COULD be manipulated, unlike a real human being.

Raven turns so fast her top hat falls off.

Oz: Um, your hat fell.

Raven grins and she and Oz both kneel down to retreive it and bump heads.

Oz and Rave: Ow!

Raven smiles at Oz, who starts to laugh.

Raven: Yeah. Hey, you're band would be better up here, you know.

U2 looks down at Raven and Oz supiciously and Oz puts a finger to his lips.

Oz: Shhhh. Dingos Ate My Baby broke up and I'm pretty sure Devon's been a vampire's dinner. And besides, I just play drums (note out there to Rosa: Oz plays drums too!)

Raven's grin widens.

Raven: Well, I happen to think the drums are what hold a song together. Would you play for me sometime?

Oz (smiling back): I'd play for you anytime.

Note: It really, majorly sucks that they took Seth Green (who plays my character and new date, Oz) off of Buffy. He and Willow were so sweet together. But NOW, I have brought him back and since Willow is over him, he is over Willow (obviously :D)

I think that SOME baddies are attractive but I usually go for the good guys myself. Unless it's a baddy who is actually a goody at heart. Kinda like Sirius. Don't worry Onesie, I'm not taking him. Course, even though the goodies leave you to save the world, the baddies leave you for another girl :(

Gamsie and Ron appear from behind one of the rose bushes in the garden for a bit to mingle with the crowd. :o After getting some butterbeer, Gamsie looks on the stage and feels awfully bad for Raven because her dates are being weird and taking their eyes off of her. Gamsie is then glad to see that she has Oz because he's cooler than Josh anyways.

Ron: Let's go find Sirius and Onesie again.
Gamsie: Good plan hombre. Oi, Onesie!
Onesie: Well hello again, and where have you two been? ;)
Ron: Uh..... :o Let's go dance.
Sirius: Uh huh, are all the Weasley's so bad at covering things up? ;)

Ron whisks Gamsie toward the stage to request some sort of slow song. Once the request is met, Ron bows awkwardly and holds out his hand.

Gamsie: Love to!

Gamsie takes Ron's hand and he leads her to the center of the dance floor for the most enjoyable song of the evening.... thus far ;)

Explanation!:

I think I said this, but Oz is a character portrayed by Seth Green on Buffy the Vampire Slayer (or he was) and he was in love with this girl/witch called Willow. Oz also happened to be a werewolf when he was bit by his infected baby cousin Jordie, who, as he put it "does not like to be tickled." Usually, they lock him up in the library cage for three nights out of the month, but once it got really dangerous and he almost killed Willow and things and he realized he needed to get away and get his act together and travel. One time, he came back to explain where he'd gone (the Himilayas for one place, meditation and stuff) but Willow was, um, taken. He was kinda hurt, but he understood she moved on and he told her that he had thought he had everything under controll, but then something happened and he went wolfie again. So in the end, he told her he was leaving again and that maybe they could meet in Tibet. And now, Oz is mine. Hehe.

No worries, I suppose I picked an unknown character and this is the price I pay-- Explianing.

Also, a funny Oz quote is in my sig. He's strange that way.

Happy January first, everyone!

I just watched Forever Young which was just on TV and saw this kind in it. It takes place in 92 and this kid said he was ten so I chuckled and said to myself, "If the actor really was ten, he'd be twenty right about now, maybe twenty one." and I was looking at the credits and saw all the usual stars Mel Gibson, Jamie Lee Curtis, and... Elija Wood. Elija Wood was the kid and I never knew that. He looks SOOO different from what he looked like then. Weird.
