View Full Version : Who do you relate to?

Well?
I'm certainly the book worm in Herm. :)
Harry's got no relatives, I got sister and I'm not of that world savior type :p Books and cleverness are for me. :D
And Ron's got too many relatives - and I've always been the top of our family (when it comes to school marks :p)
Hmm... what else? Oh, Ginny is kinda near me :p At least near my heart, she has crush on a person she cannot get - that's kinda common with me :p
McGonagall is something I was about to turn to  - Don't ask...
edit: I tried to delete this, but I couldn't
I would have liked to have multiple choice poll... ;)

I am like Hermione in that I do seem to know a lot and can be arrogant at times. But I don't like to dig into books at every occasion. I am crazy and the more important is the decision, the less time I spend thinking about it. Just like my mom :D
McGonagall - I am prone to dispence the cold ruthless impersonal justice
Many others, but I am on short break from discussing the shortcomings of conductivity electrodes :( I don't want to turn this in!

Sadly, I'm most like Hermione, too. Book-ish, rather plain to look at, I even had the teeth for the first 13 years of my life. :D
I can also relate a bit to Ron... being overshadowed by his older brothers and whatnot.
Then I relate to Harry... having an unfortunate disrespect for most authority. :o :D

In many respects I'm like Hermione. I am usually pretty good in school and stuff. And I am SUCH a bookworm (though good ones, not big ol' Arithmancy books  )
I think I'm more like Ron though. We both have big families. He's almost the youngest and I am the youngest. He feels overshadowed by his siblings, defintiely know that one! Also, he's always getting into trouble for stupid things. I do stupid things all the time! :D

Uni's library is making me feel like Herm... ;) It's lovely and old. :)

I guess I am a bit like Hermione. I'm bookish and spend a lot of my time in the library. But then I've never really related to her.
I relate a lot to Snape. He's an outsider, misunderstood and doesn't really fit in with any particular group i.e. he's not a deatheater, but at the same time he's not fully excepted by the 'good' side. For a lot of my life I haven't really fitted in anywhere. As I get older, though, I'm growing less like him, but in my late teenage years when I first read the books I saw a lot of myself in his character.
Oh, Ginny is kinda near me At least near my heart, she has crush on a person she cannot get - that's kinda common with me Me too. Story of my life.

Hmm... I was definitely very Hermione as a child, but contrary to Seriphus' experience I find myself getting more Snapeish with age. I've taken two of those 'which character are you?' polls so far - one tagged me as Snape, and the other as Dumbledore. I don't personally see much of the latter in myself, but I suppose I can at least hope I'm evolving toward the old guy's wisdom, or at least his ability to be as eccentric as he wants and have everyone around him just shrug and deal with it :)

i'd say i have a lot in common with Ron...from the time i was born most of my things have been hand-me-downs from my older sisters  i don't really feel overshadowed by them, but sometimes i do especially when my over-worked mother forgets my name and ends up calling me by either of my sisters' names :o
but sometimes i see a little bit of Harry in me in terms of how i see myself. i'm afraid of what i might become, or rather what i might not become in the future.

'which character are you?' polls
Does anyone know any good points above type of polls?
I'd like to take one :p

Hermoine, definately. She has made it cool to be intelligent and good at school. Now why couldn't this have happened many years ago when I was at school :(

Like.. don't get me wrong, but I'm pretty much like PErcy.
I have reasons for that:
1) I'm not very nice with my brothers
2) I'm such a rule follower
3) I rather be involve in school activities than sport activities
4) I will never get bad grades
5) I like to give orders
6) my works and projects have to way perfect
7) I always want to impress my teachers
That is why I relate to him the most:D

Well, quite a few tests have said that I'm like Hermione, but I really am not. I never do my homework if I can avoid it, I take as little classes as possible. I'm more of a Slytherin person, I think. I could relate to Snape. :D

When I was younger I was such a Hermione, I read constantly, I engrossed myself in studies, and had two close friends. I had terrible mad bushy hair (its calmed down now, thank god!)
Then I went to secondary school, and everything was weird, and the teachers were bad, no motivation, complete opposite. Horrible atmosphere and NUNS! :p
I've now morphed into a Ron! I don't really follow rules, I'm a stubborn little mad woman, I'm moody, I have a big ish family, and always used to get the hand me downs from my short fat cousin in Ireland... I was tall and skinny... still am... Yes thats another Ron thing. lol
But in another way, I'm like Harry, I'm afraid of growing up, I'm worried of what I'll become, if I become anything... Will I do anything with my life. It's half the reason why I've been putting off watching Sex And the City for so many months, because Carrie, she was everything I aspired to be. She had a published book, the amazing clothes and great friends. And my name! lol. It's what I wanted to be, good job, a published book, and have Manolo Blahniks (my feet are crying out! ;) ) And I didn't watch it because of that. So yeah, in a way I can sorta relate to the trio...
I sound so clieched....

Ron Weasley, I do think!
We're alot alike.
1). we both love sweets
2). we both like to play chess
3). we're both dying to play on a Quidditch team :D
4). we're both stubborn MULES!
5). we both have a pet rat
6). we hate school work or doing any work :o
7). we're both always getting into mischief
8). I love a good prank
9). I love to argue :trout:
10). we find Fred and George's jokes hilarious
I'm definatley alot like Ron.
But I've never thrown up slugs before...or attend Hogwarts...:(
Bloody owl delivery got scrotched up!!!

Bookish, usually respectful of my teachers and always trying to find the good points of not too nice people: that makes me Hermionish. I also like cats.
I have a rather sarcastic sense of humor and used to have little tolerance of stupidity and incompetence (this has mellowed a great deal latwly) , have a thing for black clothing and I'm a bit of an outsider: Snapeish. And I like snakes and reptiles.
I consider myself a good friend of my friends, I tend to be quiet and reserved at first: Lupinish, and the outsider bit applies again. I do like any type of canine.
I'm lazy as hell: Ron and I DON'T like rats.
Try to put off doing things until I hardly have time to finish on schedule: very Harry on the Second Task.

Ron's not Boring :p He's sarcastic, and humoreuos device character, who greatly lacks depth... but he's not boring.. he's childish :p

I think ron has more depth then is lead to believe, sure he's childish, and lazy, and a slacker. But hey I still think he's deper then we think. I've used this example before, he is a master at Wizard's Chess. That counts for something. :)
I'm definately Ron:D we both love sweets!

He and other characters, hopefully, will develop some depth in the next books, but, so far he lacks depth :p
Hmm... Hermione. Except I've become a lazy student  :o

Really, Chiana? Oh my! I take it that you got out of it OK, those cheeky devils! :)

Hehehe, I love that show.. they're still showing it on cable TV over here, and I try and watch it when I can. :)
No no, you're right, VERY dry place at least at the moment: we've got a bit of a drought going, but I think it's starting to improve. Plus, Australia is pretty far away... like you said, it's probably easier to stir up the Americans for them. We Aussies are supposed to be pretty easygoing anyways: we might just ignore them after all that trouble! ;)

Ooh Xaz your avatar... Is it some dinosaur off that dinosaur puppet show.... forgot what it was called... Oh, on the tip on my tounge! Well, if it is, you're giving me happy memories of my childhood! :D

Here's a question relating to who are you most like...
What animigus character are you most like?
Scabbers?
Crookshanks?
Sirius?
Thought that might create some interesting discussion:)

Ooh, that's tough Chiana.. I don't know that I'm that much like any of them. I suppose out of the three I'd be the most like Sirius: I haven't been in jail or anything, mind! But I guess I'm a pretty solitary kind of person and stuff, so yeah, Sirius. :)
Ugh, I need to re-read the books sometime: I'm starting to forget things!
Yes, Fleur it IS from that show, creatively known as Dinosaurs. It's Baby Sinclair, him of the frying pan and infectious laugh. I didn't used to remember much of it, but when I watched it again recently, its amazing how quickly it all comes back, really it is! :)
Those Dinosaur experts amongst you may also note I changed my title to fit in with the show... as Baby Sinclair says: "I'm the baby! Gotta love me!" ;) :D

Who could forget good old baby sinclair? My favorite was the grandmother, she's just so lovable! He couldn't push her off the cliff afterall.:)
Ok well if the animigus question doesnt work...then if you were an animigus what creature would you choose to turn into?
But in regards to my own question...I think I'd be Crookshanks, I'd like to chase around Pettigrew! That little rat bast....argh! That guy just makes me soo angry sometimes!!!
I am definately the least like Peter Pettigrew. And if anyone in the book whose name shouldn't be mentioned on the count of disgust, its him!
You can all tell I hate that guy:D

As I've paused half way through reading 'Goblet of Fire' (for the first time) to do some stuff online. I feel the sudden urge to express my opinion on anything to do with the books. What have I been reduced to? :p
Anyway, I don't relate to just one character. I mean, it's the situations they find themselves in that I relate to most (Not that I often fight the Dark Arts) Fred and George for example, I guess I admire them more than anything for their humour element. Then there is Harry and his crush on Cho.. I feel his pain. *Wonders what he's doing here when he could be reading!* Never mind, gotta g...

Hmmm. I really don't know who I relate to the most--I relate to a lot of the characters in many ways, I guess. Probably I relate to the Ravenclaw, Mandy Brocklehurst, because her first name is Mandy and so is mine. ;)
Nah, seriously though, I'm probably more like Lupin. I'm quiet about what I like, my lifestyle, etc, and I suppose I'm more prone to action than discussing things. If I hear something outside in the night I'll be the one to investigate it, or if a snake is dangerously near one of my cats, I'll pick it and smash it or something--which, I guess, could be a little like Hermione and very much unlike her. Maybe just Gryffindorish?
But then, I'm a bit Slytherinish. I am really, really ambitious. When I was trying out for a scholarship, they chided me for setting my goals so high. Hmmph. And I mean, really, how many Gryffindors have been arrested?
WAIT. I totally know. I'm like Sirius Black! Innocent! Luckily my charges (which were small anyway, MIP, not armed robbery or anything) were dropped unlike his.
So whaddaya all think?
