My School Days At Hogwarts

If it's about pretending to be at Hogwarts, I think it might belong in the Leaky Cauldron more than here - if that's what it is, I'll move it. :)

Chapter 1
Diagon Alley
I'm looking outside. Suddenly an owl flies past my window! I notice that he has something in his beak. When Mom goes to get our mail, she notices that I have gotten a letter! I turn it over and see the Hogwarts symbol on the back! I'm not able to believe it. I open it, and read it, and it's the Hogwarts selection letter! I show it to my dad and my brother Alex who like Harry Potter too, and they can't believe it either! They agree to take a plane to London (or wherever Diagon Alley is) and buy my stuff. I see the Leaky Cauldron, but nobody else in my family does. I wonder how I can get them to Diagon Alley. Soon, I notice another Hogwarts student (how I can tell, I dunno). He has a wizarding mom & dad, and I ask them if I can borrow some Floo Powder. They see that the rest of my family are Muggles, and the boy's parents understand. We go to our hotel, and find our fireplace. Then, Dad lights a fire. I toss the Floo powder into the fireplace. I go (gulp), and step into the fire. "Diagon Alley!" I yell, and suddenly everything turns white. I feel like I'm in a rollercoaster that goes directly through a waterfall. Then, I finally fall out of another fireplace. I have a bad headache. I can barely stand up. I step away from the fireplace, and soon the rest of my family falls out. We rest until our heads stop hurting, and step out into Diagon Alley.

Chapter 2
Buying My Things
I find the same Hogwarts boy, and I ask him if he knows a place where you can change Muggle money to wizarding money. He says yes, and takes us to a building called "Money Exchange". We step in, and a witch with a ponytail and a rainbow-colored cloak comes over and says, "Ah, a Muggle-born witch. Why else would you and your family come here instead of Gringotts? Give me your Muggle money, and I'll make it wizarding money." Since we're big HP (HP stands for Harry Potter) fans, we're not confused at all. We give her our money, and she puts the money on a table. The witch takes out her wand and goes, "Monitarious Mugles Morphus Wizude!" Then our money suddenly turns into wizard money. She gives the money back, and we thank her. She goes back to where she was, and we leave. First we go to Flourish & Blotts, and buy our books: The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 1, Basic Potion Mixing, Beginner's Protection Against the Dark Arts, First-year Transfiguration, Charms: It's Charming!, Starting Herbology. Then we go to the Cauldron Shop, and buy a pewter cauldron. We go to Ollivandors, and eventually we buy a wand with a description: Unicorn Hair, Willow, 10 inches. We go to the Apothecary and buy some potion ingredients. I go to Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions (I shorten it to Ms. Malkin's Robes) and buy my robes as everybody else stops for a drink and chat with some other witches and wizards at the Leaky Cauldron. As the witch works, I see that very same boy! "Hey, hi," he calls, "what's your name?" "Melissa," I start to say, when Madam Malkin finishes with the boy. She soon finishes with me, and I go out of Ms. Malkin's Robes and meet Mom, Dad and Alex at the Magical Menagerie. "Want an owl?" Mom asks me. "I can have one?" I ask excitedly. "Yes," Dad replies. "Well, then, yes!" I answer. We walk in the Magical Menagerie, and buy an orange owl that I named Harry (reason unnecessary; you probably know why). Then we went back to Money Exchange and had the witch (who was named Hera) change our money back to Muggle money. We Floo powdered our way back to our hotel and placed my things in the closet and hid them, and ate dinner. We talk about the day until bedtime.

Chapter 3
Platform 9 3/4
The next day, we pack up my stuff and head off to King's Cross Station. We make sure no Muggles are watching, and I run to the barrier. When I pass through, I see the Hogwarts Express. I look around at the other Hogwarts students, and my eyes slip to a group of 5th-years: a boy with red hair and freckles, a girl, and another boy with glasses and a lightning-shaped scar on his forehead! If there was any doubt that HP was real, it vanished as I looked at the group: Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, and Harry Potter! But, I thought, the books are written by an author named J. K. Rowling. How could the books, if written by an author, be real? And then, the boy came up to me again! "So, like J. K. Rowling's records of Harry Potter's school years?" he asked. "The what?" I exclaimed. "The 'Harry Potter' books!" he remarked. Ah, so that's how. And since it doesn't tell you that HP is real, it's safe to let Muggles read it. And, slowly, over time, I became used to being in the HP world. "Well, let's go! It's almost 9:00!" the boy told me, and we got into 2 seats right next to each other as the Hogwarts Express left.

Chapter 4
The Hogwarts Express

I ask the kid what's his name. He says his name is Craig. I tell him my name: Melissa. I have a feeling I know him. I ask, "Do you use what Muggles call the Internet?" He says yes, and I tell him I do too. I ask him what's his Internet name. Craig says TurboXL10. I'm so surprised, I barely manage to tell him mine! So I have been talking to him! We're Internet friends! We talk about how surprising it was when we got the Hogwarts selection letter and what happened at Diagon Alley. Then I relaxed, and soon we got to Hogwarts.

Chapter 5
Out of the Hogwarts Express/The Sorting Hat
I step out of the Hogwarts Express, extremely excited. Then I hear a familiar yell, "Firs' years over 'ere!" I look and see Hagrid. I step into a boat and sit next to Craig, and our excitement is rising to a point where we could just barely keep it under control. When we round the bend to Hogwarts, there's lots of oohs and ahs, and we say, "I can't believe it!" "It really is just like the movie!" Craig adds, and I figure that the true making of the HP movies is hidden to Muggles. We step out of the boat, and we see Prof. Magonagall say what we know she says. Soon we're in line for the Sorting, and I tell myself the words that the Sorting Hat says. Then I hear "Mc'Cael, Lyra!" A boy steps over to the Sorting Hat, and soon it calls out: Gryffindor! I'm sorted into Ravenclaw, and Craig's sorted into Hufflepuff. Soon the Sorting's over, and I start talking to the other Ravenclaws.

Chapter 6
The Feast
Most immediately, our plates are stocked full of food. I take a handful of carrots and start eating them. Then I pile my plate full of peas and pour a ton of ketchup on them. When I'm done, I pour another ton of ketchup and eat fries until I'm stuffed full. A second-year Ravenclaw who's sitting next to me, Haron Potley, asks why I'm not touching the meat. I answer, "Because I'm vegetarian." Haron's surprised. He asks why. I tell Haron, "I'm vegetarian because I've heard that you'll be healthier if you are vegetarian." "Oh," Haron replies. A few minutes later, the desserts come, and I feel like I'll explode if I eat another bite! But they look too good. So I take a slice of apple pie and eat it. Then, before I knew it, I had eaten rainbow, orange & lime ice cream, Jell-O, and drank a whole cup of Sprite!
