It's strange.

I put down Ron and Draco (;)) but I thought about it and realized I liked Cedric too. I think it's because I wrote a fic (I know I write fics too much, so don't comment) dealing with Cedric and I kinda grew attatched to him. And then, of course, I had to kill him, and that made it worse...

Elfëa
01-05-2003, 04:41 PM
OT, but Rav, where you host your fics? :)
(if I never come around with that long story I've got loads of shorter ones in my mind... :o)

By now, I should make my own website. I tried, but it was too tedious. I think I hate HTML. Might just use Geocities or sommat.

No, right now, I'm on FanFiction.Net and FictionAlley.org (under two different names). My good HP fics are listed near the top... after that, it's mostly ER/Charmed/Buffy fics and bad HP ones. You'll see I have a lot of stories there and I'm a little embarrassed at all the free time I have and how I use it. I just like to write. My fanfiction account is WitchGirl (corny name I've used since 2000 and haven't bothered to change it cause no one would know who I was). Look me up if you like. At Fictionalley.org, the name is Carly.

But that just turned into a horribly off topic advertisment.

Definitely Harry is one of my favorites (why would I read the books, if he wasn't?), but I really like Sirius and Lupin -- and they aren't on the list -- but we are talking about the movie....

Anyhoo, of the rest of them, I really like Ron. He actually is probably my favorite character of them all. Hermionie is all right, though she tends to get on my nerves -- I have an aversion to bossiness you might say.

Elfëa
01-19-2003, 05:25 PM

Well, I'm partly of that bossy kind, so I'm closest to Hermione myself... but I still certainly vote for Draco.. he brings in certain entertaiment :p

EDIT: Noticed my smiley was broke! :( And now it's not. ;)

Yeah, I think Draco brings a lot -- obviously there'd be a lot less of a plot if he wasn't around being an antagonist. Though, Harry certainly is an antagonist of his own right -- moreso, I think, in the books. [shrugs]

Welcome! Stick around, post a little (or a lot :D), enjoy yourself.

I like Harry, he's the main character, of course, and I really come to like him in PoA, when he finds out about Sirius Black and his parents... I guess the channel I like Harry in is by feeling for him, feeling sorry for him, and being impressed with him.

:D Snape on the other hand, makes me laugh with delight. Ooooh, especially in PoA and GoF. At the end of PoA, when he actually hates Harry MORE.

Draco is bad, so I like him too
Hermione is smart and I like her too.
Harry... he's okay,
But Lucios! He's so cool! I love him!

When I think about it.. yes.. Lucius is kinda cute! He has that long blond hair and amazing eyes. :)

I will have to say after reading the books over and over again, to fill the time until the next book ::jumps up and down in excitement:: My favorite character is RON.

How can you not love all the characters, especially Feorge and Gred ;) That is a tough one i must say.

Mellon
02-18-2003, 07:10 AM
Hi, ChianaWeasley. :) Welcome to the boards.

The question is, can you work out the (very slight, possibly imaginary) differences between Feorge and Gred? ;)

ChianaWeasley
02-18-2003, 12:54 PM
 Hi Mellon!

You cant really tell the twins apart of course. But in the film , one does have very bad posture. :shrugs: LOL thats all i can think of.

And like any muggle/wizard they enjoy a good ol' "blow up the lou and send the top to mum"

Tàralhachiel

I love Lucius i thought he was reallllly cute, i love the whole bad ass, pissed off thing :D What can i say i have something for guys with long blonde hair example Legolas!:swoon:
well that's my favorite in the movie my favorite in the book is Ron. I like how he's sarcastic it adds a lot of humor it the books one quote that just sticks with me is (this is about him getting the Firebolt in PoA)
Herminone- Harry's not going to fly it yet..(i dunno if that's exact)
Ron- What's he going to do with it? Sweep the floor?

Little things like that, that just made me crack up!

ChianaWeasley
03-01-2003, 07:34 PM
I'd like to see Uranis Lavender.

Ron is the king!

Elfëa

I love the sending the lou... especially when Mrs. Pomfrey ends up consatificating it... :p And they were going to send it to Ginny.
I just love the twins :D

Ron's sarcasm is great - and that's the only bit I like him on the screen...

ChianaWeasley
03-01-2003, 08:06 PM
I love ron and the twins...well pretty much any Wesley .Except ginny and Percy:rolleyes:

Elfëa
03-01-2003, 08:13 PM
I like Ginny - she and Percy have more potential to become even more important characters than the twins. Twins are the comic effect - but Ginny and Percy have the possibility of turn to either good or evil...

Or just become plain annoying Harry worshippers...

ChianaWeasley
03-01-2003, 09:14 PM
Yes, but Percy is just soooo uptight. Cauldron thickness i mean come on!
And ginny is ok but shes just so whinny, maybe she'll grow up?

Elfëa
03-01-2003, 09:20 PM
Whinny? Where?
Maybe I've been spoiled by fanfiction... think of all the trauma Ginny's gone through? :p

Percy is thick, and that gives possible turning to evil or at least strict following the rules possibilities... :p

ChianaWeasley
03-01-2003, 09:37 PM
Well I've always just pictured ginny as this Whinny little girl, for example in book one where she want to go to Hogwarts and kept begging and whinning. I dunno, I hope she grows up, because right now she reminds me of a preteen who'd listen to DreamStreet.

Elfëa
03-01-2003, 09:40 PM
Well, I keep reminding myself that we see her through Harry eyes - thus she will seem younger, cause when you're young, a year is a BIG thing :p

I really can't choose between any of those characters. My favourite character has to be Lockhart (has nothing to do with Kenneth Brannagh... honest! Honest! :swoon: ) Okay, okay, I'm new to the Harry Potter forums cos the movies kinda put me off the books *ducks trouts* but I thought I'd come in and take a look. Be nice to me :D

Elfëa
03-18-2003, 10:01 AM
:trout:

You have to read the books... I got even my dad agree they're ten times better than the movie could ever be... :p (The movie lacks the most of it... :()

And, Lockhart is blainly annoying. I only like him because Branaugh... :p :swoon:

angleet

My favorite characters in the movies, so far, has been Hagrid.

In the books, Lupin.

But the movies seem so flat compared to the book, I don't really consider any of them to really 'be' the characters they are portraying.

Colli
03-18-2003, 04:03 PM
I don't know angleet, I think some of them did a really good job, like Maggie Smith and Robbie and Alan... and Jason. :D

The kids weren't too bad either... in CoS they seemed a lot more comfortable in their roles.

I probably wouldn't have read the books after seeing the movies either (in spite of liking them), were it not for the encouragement of my cousins, the fact that I wanted to brush up my French (long story), and the fact that I wanted to know what happened in books three and four.

Rowling has a great, easy-going style that the movie just doesn't pick up on. Along with the fact that the books are a little less silly, and a little more droll. If that makes any sense:D You should definitely give them a chance!

Lockhart! It took me almost the entire movie to figure out it was Kenneth Branagh! Then it was really funny: Kenneth Branagh, great Shakespearean director, playing this pompous (and gorgeous, I might add) ass in a kid's movie!

Gimli the Dwarf
03-18-2003, 06:21 PM
I seem to be the only person who loved book Lockhart! He really appealed to me for some reason. Then Brannagh.... though in HP he wasn't as swoony as in Othello as Iago. :swoon: I love Hagrid, he's such a gentle giant, and Lupin and Sirius: how culd you NOT like them?! I nearly cried when Harry couldn't move in with Sirius!

Personally, Harry annoys me no end. Grr! I like him but only cos there would be no books without Harry. I like Hermione cos she reminds me of me (cept I'm not really clever. People just think I am  ) and Ron just cracks me up soooo much! I really hope we get to see his wise-cracks at Trelawney in PoA :p

I read the books several times, then was disappointed by the movie :( I've only seen CoS on pirate video, and me nad my mate went VERY hyper about the time when Hermione as petrified so there wasn't much reaction to the Basilisk (though it resembled an eel) I do remember Lockhart being hysterically funny. Though at that point everything was....

ChianaWeasley
03-18-2003, 06:29 PM
i always thought of Lockhart as the stock character in book three, kind of the guy put there to annoy you, and stir some plot. He was however good at what he did, which was steal people's heroic moments. :D

Hee hee, Lucius is the best! Quickly followed by Snape (hte Duelling Club was the best!!!). Can't believe you guys think Lockhart is gorgeous! When he smiles that 1st time in class i have to look away for fear ill throw up! But then, Im generally regarded as pretty weird- please dont trout me.
Lucius is the best!!! But his eyes arent grey. Theyre meant to be grey. *sulks* Oh well. Im probably just biased cos i have grey eyes. *realises she is blabbering and sneaks back to the LFL*
Byes.

I watched part of CoS yesterday and I realized something. Rickman isnt quite the part for snape, hes not quite...oily enough or something. And he looks really good, and I pictured snape as this tall mean looking blacked haired greasy guy with a goatee

You may not believe this, especially given my outspoken comments on the "swoon" and "villian appreciation" threads...but I find myself most quoting.... Argus Filch! I LOVE his lines. I swear, he is just priceless. "My cat's been petrified!! I want some punishment!" "Ooooh, we are in trouble!" "God, how I miss the screaming....!" Hee, hee, hee. I can't help it, I love David Bradley's character. Perhaps it's because he loves his kitty......

ChianaWeasley
04-23-2003, 09:19 PM
I love that part of the second book! WEll...not because of what happened to his cat. but just the way he flips out, he starts crying and all that. And you never expect filch to do that, I think it's cute he loves his cat soo much. And I was thinking last night that maybe Ms. Filch is his long lost lover who was turned into a cat. OR maybe shes an animigus and his wife!!!! Oh!:D
