To celebrate my glorious and wonderful return I would like to revive a dead subject: Therapy.
In the old OLD MI, like, way back when, in July, there was a thread where people could post pointless babble without any point and it actually turned out to be quite funny. One of the jokes I remember was between Cedric, Rosalia and I about the moon being made out of cheese....
But anyway, enough about that, babble away!

I'm not sanity impaired. I'm insanity-enhanced. ;)
I think spouse got your Alias book, Colli - are you referring to the one that comes with a DVD in? I think I made out better than spouse on the DVD front though; I ended up with the Harry Potter and extended FotR DVDs by the time we'd exchanged gifts with all branches of the family :) though I expect I'll need to take a vacation to enjoy the FotR set in its entirety ;)

I... Hate... School.... And.... The... Stupid... HOMEWORK!
BAH! I have to do stupid vocabulary exercises with words I ALREADY KNOW by Sunday AND I have to write a stupid French poem about myself BY SUNDAY AND I have to read all about Hunger/Famine in Africa and then write a paragraph about it BY SUNDAY and I've been procrastinating and I REALLY don't wanna do it!
*cries!*
I hate ruddy world cultures. It's a pointless class filled with pointless lessons about the stupid Middle East and Africa and I really don't want to know anything more about the Palestinian/Israeli conflict because if I do, I will go insane! ARGH! JUST KILL THEM ALL AND GET IT OVER WITH!
Ahem.
I didn't mean that. I'm just mad at that class because it's so boring! And I don't WANT to write about stupid hunger in Africa. It'll get me all sad to see all those little kids starving to death. Bah. French is no better. "Qui Suis-Je?" I HAVE NO BLINKING CLUE! Qui suis-je! Yeah, right! Bah. OK, I'm done now.
PS: Did I mention I hate World Cultures class?

Ugh, I can totally sympathize with the people who are complaining about school! Spring semester starts for me on Wednesday... I have Physical Gepgraphy, Beginning Algebra, Intro. to Psychology, and English Composition II.... yee ha. Why can't there be a class called "The History of Middle Earth" where you read all those wonderful book and discuss the history of the elves and why they don't get along with the dwarves... oh yes, can you just imagine... *sigh* And then at the end of the semeste we would discuss the movie compared to the books... and the signifigance of the hottness of Legolas and Aragorn... and all those hotties in Middle Earth:swoon: :swoon: Hahaha Anyone wanna sign up!?

I actually got to do essay on ME on my English language course for overseas students :p But alas, it was last August...
Now I have two portfolios to worry about, next term starts on 27th... I think... no idea of the timetable yet as it hasn't come out. Waiting anxiosly to know did I pass my exams... Really scared about that. Really really really :( First university exams... and cause the language isn't my first...
I have no homework to... Kept reading till 3 am and woke up at 11 and continued reading till 6.30pm... no reason really to get up... (read Draco Veritas printouts... :o - for the third time...) Should have read Salman Rushdie's God of Small Things for my portfolio (need to make a book review...)
I really like university, I just wish I could have enough to do so I actually would do something else than... sit in to comp room... or in my room.... :o
World Cultures, sounds interesting, even though I'd like class "World mythologies" much better :p
Fleurdelacour
01-18-2003, 04:30 PM
World Mythologies... Ooh that'd be so cool :D In some schools they had Classics as a GCSE, not our school, oh I wanted to do it so much! JKR did it... ;)
No, got stuck with history...
We did To Kill a Mockingbird in English in year ten, good book, but our teacher refused to do the philosopher's stone! The examiners hadn't even out it u as an option to do! The rudeness ;)
Maybe in college, I we'll study Harry Potter or LotR (which I'm loving right now, it's amazing! :D)
Elfëa

I'm studying English literature, but for some odd reason I've ended up doing courses on Old/Medival English.. :p (well, Tolkien taught that :p)... But I've always shared interest in Mythologies, so I look them up on my free time.
Besides, I'm doing Creative Writing as part of my degree, so all mythological stuff if a plus for me... I'm kinda fantasy writer... :p (read the fanfic I posted so you know my style :p)
Melancholic and descriptive. Bits of fantasy, concentrated on feelings and colors :p Okay, that's enough about my writings :p I just love writing sometimes. Sometimes it's a burden. :)
I love English language by the way, I couldn't ever write such stuff I can in English. But I believe that writers are liars, at to some degree, so I guess it's much easier to lie in a foreign language? :)
I did Latin and Roman Mythology in "college" (last three years of school, voluntary... ) and I also took a final test in it :)

Yeah college is voulntary, but for two years over here ;) To think I'm can quit school forever, but no, I dont, I go back, to do even more challenging work! ;)
English Lit and Language, Fine Art, Textiles, and Media Studies! :D
NO MORE MATHS!! HALLELULEGIAH!!! :D :D
Elfëa

What's wrong with maths? ;)
In Finland 9 years of school are compulsery, you have to do subjects: Finnish, Swedish, usually one extra language (I did French) for two years, Maths, Geography, Biology, RS, Physics, Chemistry, PE, Arts, Music, Textile works (for girls), IT hmm... there was something else but I can't remember... anyway, you can also have couple extra subjects for last two years :p like language and arts and stuff... I think I did Economy, French, Typing and IT... :) And Music for one year... and Drama...
At "college" you still have to do all the subjects... and there are Psygology, Philosophy to add... and you need only one course on "artistic" studies - drama, PE or such... (I did Drama and music :p)
I haven't got slightest clue why I ended up here...
Only two subjects... English Literature and Creative Writing... I must be mad ;)

Can I please clarify WHY World Cultures is NOT as fun as I have apparently made it sound?
86% on that exam, tho, thank god. I was so worried... I couldn't tell apart the 1976 war from the 1948 war... AND I completely forgot the capital of the UAE (still dunno) and where Qatar was on the map! I can name the five pillars of Islam though... AND I'M NOT EVEN MUSLIM! HA! I probably know more about the religion than some muslims! OK, maybe not, since it's kinda strict religion... Well, it's not strict per say, I mean, there's a lot of freedom, it's just, it controlls their lives... Pray five times a day no matter what you're doing, wash before you pray, be kind to strangers and elderly and disabled, fast durring Ramadan-- And to you Muslims reading that, I really admire you for that. I could never fast. Oh, and they have to go to Mecca and they're forgiven. Very peaceful religion, really... But I couldn't handle it. Nuh uh, I'd forget to pray and that would make me a sinner...
Anyways I have no idea why I said that. Hey, World Cultures may be boring, but at least I remember it, eh?
AHA! I'm doing a creative writing class at my school too! It's really cool! We gonna enter contests and stuff. Hehe!

I wish we had creative writing class, its my best subject other then art... But I did get an A* on my creative writing coursework! :D
I started reading novels when I was six... Oliver Twist in fact, but my teachers didn't put me in a higher reading group... I was at the bottom one for some odd reason... Then when we where in year five (nine to ten years old) we had to write a story, about something, cant remember what, but I got a really good grade, and head teachers commendation :D and still wasn't put in the highest English group! They stunted my literacy growth!! Hence my bad spelling ;) We learned spellings like cat, rat, dog, when I was eleven....
I hate teachers...
Roll on college...
Finnish school sounds weird... A special subject for GIRLS! Sexist! My mum wanted to work in architecture, but the course only let in boys! Thats the Irish school system for you, in the seventies anyway ;)

Fleur - you can actually chose to do woodwork what guys do, if you want to... some do :) But you cannot choose your PE class  And boys got to play more  and we had to do stupid gymnastics and such  I hated them... I like playing floorball :p
Elfea remembers her school times when she was like Hermione... I was at top of our class in everything... except sports... :( and arts, I can't draw...
Not that I can spell anyway... my Finnish teacher was loysy :p We didn't do anything and I got 10 (the best grade) from stories that he didn't read further than first page... (well, it was 32 pages... of FANFICTION :rotfl: Poor guy... he retired after our class :p)
College was harder tho...
Rav - I think I did knew 5 pillars of Muslim when I was at high school... our RS class was all but Lutherian... ;) (Our group was soo chattery that the teacher had to just talk with us... )
