I'm afraid I'm not here with good news.

Melkor and I had been working on trying to get the MI back up and on its own, however we've run into some rather nasty difficulties that have been keeping that from happening.

I thought I should let you all know that we have been trying, but it looks like it'll still be a while before its back. I don't have even a guestimate as to when it could possibly happen.

So in the meantime, have a butterbeer and some chocolate frogs, might as well make yourselves comfortable ;)

We did used to have a site, in 2000, til about i dunno, but for a reason I cant remember it went away... Muggleinformer.net wasn't it?

Thanks everyone for being so understanding, I know we've been saying for a while we'd have the muggle back up, but its proven to be more difficult than we had hoped.

We'll let you know when we start to see any progress :)

Just for the sake of my curiosity, could you try to explain to my simple mind what the problem is?

the problem is that the only one of the admins who currently has high-speed access to be able to do the backup and upload is Melkor and he's been working 16 hour days for the past few weeks, and he's FTP challenged ;)

Anyhoo...I just wanted to post in here to ask you all to go see my thread in Site Announcements (linked in my sig) so you know what happened with the recent server outage.

But oh well, I don't get much time to come in here and play, so I'll just talk to myself in this thread just to keep y'all updated about what's going on with the CoE and the HP forums. Anyone feel free to join in anytime :)

We'll be moving to a new server provider in the next few days. There shouldn't be too much interruption of service, but as with the last move, there will be some time before the site propagates to all areas. This means that some areas of the 'net will have access to the site before others, and sometimes it can take a week to fully propagate. With the last move, I think it was 3 or 4 days before I could get in. Which is annoying yes, but no reason to panic. I'm afraid there is not much we can do to speed up the process.

Once we've moved and got settled, then we'll be figuring out the new arrangement for the MI site. We're working out the logistics of it with the new server provider, so it may still be a while (sorry 'bout that :() but we *are* in fact working on it. We're short handed in the admin department and since the last crash we've just been trying to find a new home, any enhancements or additions have had to be put on the back burner for the time being.

So, that's about it! :D
