Yeah, it is.
Head over to the cauldron (http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/2002_09_01_archive.html) for some more cool pics of the kids and others.
Some people out there have been saying how the other kids look bad a stuff, but I think that when you look at the pics from this movie, they look about ten times as good as they did in the last movie. If you ask me, the next movie is gonna be pretty darn awesome.

Cedric, I have a 10 year old daughter that likes HP. Would the forum at The Cauldron be a good discussion board for her? I don't let her post on the HP threads here because it's too much trouble turning off and on the automatic sign on so she can log on as a different user than me. It doesn't seem to work easily for our computer.
On topic: Kenneth B. is perfect for the part! Looks exactly the way I imagined.
Cedric

I'm sorry Pennquelle, but I'm not a member of any forums other then this one, so I'd really have no idea if it was good for her. My best advice would be for you to watch the posts on that site for a week or so and see how things are done there, then you'll be able to judge how good/bad it is.

Hello Cedric, nice to meet you!
I am Marigold and Potty about Potter. I hope you didn't mind me starting this movie news thread as there wasn't one up.
I have a confession to make...I have been watching ALL of you! And lurking for quite sometime now. And as the site was reborn I have decided to make myself known.
So hello everybody!
Marigold takes a bow
I am actually an official haremite by first calling (see fandom) but i'm quite tame really.;) :D
Good pics! CC looks really sweet!
Cedric you are quite right, the next movie is going to be awesome, the characters will be more developed and it will be quite scary I think!

Kristin - I used to be absolutely nuts about Kenneth Branagh!
I'm still periodically nuts about him. And he'll be a terrific Lockhart.
It was rumoured at one point that Branagh would direct Azkaban - but I think it WAS only a rumour. Especially if the Spanish dude has the job (I hope he'll be great!)
I actually got very bored and fidgety in the film of the Philosopher's Stone. It's an ongoing debate with my mate Marigold, who adores it!
- The sets were stunning.
- The veteran actor parts were terrific
- Ron Weasley was good.
But for me, the lead was too wooden and the plot dragged.
A pity, because I LOVE the books!
P.S. Gilderoy Lockhart - is anyone else reminded of Uncle Andrew in "The Magician's Nephew"? I know Branagh likes the Narnia books - he's narrated one of them on tape (I think that very one).
Kristin - hugs! I don't think we've ever spoken (thanks for directing me to the new Hall of Fire, BTW) - but I remember your name from far back.
Marigold

Niph, Kristin, is the very Kristin ,of the 'hobbits being chased after by haremites picture' I think! Of which a copy adorns my wall!:D
Kristin, do you do any HP pics btw?
Cedric
09-08-2002, 03:30 PM
Oh no, don't worry about it Marigold, I can't be the only who always posts the news threads, that would get boring :) The thing about people who watch us is we never know how many are really out there, so it's okay that you waited a while, I'm sure there's people watching us right now who don't want to register, and that's cool with me.
Here's why I think the next movie is going to be good. In a way I think they're letting the looks of people tell more of a story then their words are, you know what I mean? Because I think that the visual presence of the characters is so much stronger then they were in the first movie, I think that the picture with the mandrakes really show what I'm trying to say.
-Cedric
Marigold
09-08-2002, 08:41 PM
I must go find that picture of the mandrakes.
Do you mean that the actors seem more like/into their characters this time?
I think they all very much 'look the part' , Maybe after filming for so many months they feel so much more like their characters and it sort of enigmates(have I spelt that right?) from them.
:)

If you all want, I'll upload the Potter pics I have from old Imladris onto my website and then link it. I don't want to weigh CoE down with attachments already... ;)
I know I don't have all of them (those ones you just posted, Ced, are new to me) but I'm not sure if you all had downloaded them or not.
Just ask. :)
Colin is CREEPY! I don't really like Branagh yet (I'm still hung up on Hugh Grant not getting the role) but I'll hold my judgments until I see him in action. :D

Worrying news From IMDB:
Harris's 'Harry Potter' Role in Doubt Over Health Fears
Veteran actor Richard Harris may have to be replaced in the third installment of the Harry Potter films as fears for his health grow. The famously hard-drinking Irishman was admitted to a London hospital last week, reportedly suffering from pneumonia. He completed filming of the second Harry Potter flick, The Chamber Of Secrets, although a double was needed for some scenes when he was feeling ill. The 71-year-old plays Professor Albus Dumbledore in the tales of the schoolboy wizard, but bosses at Warner Brothers will decide next month if he is fit enough to reprise the role in the next movie, The Prisoner Of Azkaban, which starts shooting in January. If Harris is deemed too ill to continue the role - he is signed up to appear in all seven mooted films based on J.K. Rowling's books - the favorite to take over is a virtual unknown. Harry Robinson, 72, is the spitting image of Harris and has appeared as his double in the previous two films. A source on the set says, "The producers are not confident Richard will be well enough and have told Harry there's an 80 per cent chance of him getting the part. He's already been told to start practicing Dumbledore's distinctive deep voice." Last night Robinson said, "I'd love the role but I can't talk about it." A spokesperson for Harris says, "He is still in hospital with a chest infection. It's too early to talk about Harry Potter."

I don't really have rumors or news, but I was wondering if anyone has any info on casting. I have a friend who really wants Ewan McGregor to be cast as Lupin. Do we have any clues yet as to who it's going to be?

Hi folks!
I realise this is coming out of left field, but - how about Scott Cohen for Sirius? Anybody see him in The 10th Kingdom? Ok, he played an over-the-top wolf character there, so maybe I'm making wolf/dog associations, but - he's just so - so - HOT! :D And I think he could do a fine 'tortured' and would smoulder well and have the intrinsic passion to snarl successfully opposite our fave Snape, Alan Rickman -
Just a thought. Comments, anyone?

Britain's billion-dollar boy wizard Harry Potter rides his broomstick back to the United States in a two-minute promotion for upcoming film Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, airing for the first time this week on the WB television network, the WB announced Tuesday.
The network will air a two-minute, 17-second trailer for the film during the premiere of its new show Family Affair on Thursday night at 8 p.m. EDT, marking the first time the full-length clip with scenes from the movie has been shown to audiences.
A WB spokesman said Warner Bros., the film and TV studio behind the Potter movies and a sister company to the WB, has only released brief, 15- to 20-second film clips to theaters to promote the movie. Both companies are owned by AOL Time Warner Inc.
The Chamber of Secrets trailer will repeat during the WB's Friday lineup again this year after its Family Affair debut.

Anyone know who the guy at the end is? Mr. "Hopefully Mr. Potter will always be around to save the day"? My sister and I are guessing Lucius Malfoy...

...the new 30 second clip yet? What is it of? Am I the only one who cannot get it it to work?
Well, after seeing the long trailer, I can say, IMHO, that it doesn't look as good as I would have hoped. Several useless changes, IMHO, have been made that push the story along without ever forwarding the movie as a whole, stalling it. For instance, the car scene, which would have been fine on screen, is now an action sequence that simply wasn't needed, that worked without it, and takes away time from other matters. I can also add the film doesn't look nearly dark enough, which I assume is the fault of the trailer, not the movie itself. And the car looks terribly fake.
Still, I look forward to it. It looks intriguing, to say the least. We'll see how it ends up . or :notworthy.

Good point, Colli. :) Actually, Alan Rickman isn't how I pictured Snape and Branaugh isn't how I pictured Lockhart, either. And, initially, I did think that Rickman was a bad decision to play Snape, too, but that changed when I saw the movie. ;)
But from what I know of Kenneth Branaugh and what I've seen him in, I can just picture him being a very, very good Lockhart. But, who knows, maybe we'll all be surprised. :);)

Did we miss this?
WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE HARRY POTTER BOOK AND CHARACTER?
I have always said that CHAMBER OF SECRETS was my favourite but I have recently reread PRISONER OF AZKABAN and I think that has now taken over the number one spot. I think my favourite character has to be Sirius Black.
HAVE YOU EVER HAD A GIRLFRIEND?
No - but one day!!!!!!!!!!!!
HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO BRAZIL? WHAT COUNTRIES OUTSIDE OF BRITAIN HAVE YOU VISITED?
I have never been to Brazil but would like to one day. Other countries I've visited with my family include FRANCE, ITALY , SPAIN, SWEDEN, PANAMA, USA.
DANIEL, IN THE COURSE OF MAKING THE SECOND FILM DID YOU EVER GET TIRED OF FILMING? IT SEEMS THAT YOU WORK A LOT!
I never get tired of filming not when I am working with Chris Columbus who just makes me laugh all the time. Chamber of Secrets has been an fantastic experience.
IF YOU COULD LOOK INTO THE MIRROR OF ERISED WHAT WOULD YOU SEE?
I would like to see myself as happy as I am now and having as much fun as I am now.
I MEAN I DON'T KNOW HOW I WOULD DEAL WITH ALL THE RUMOURS AND TABLOIDS! HOW DOES THAT MAKE YOU FEEL? AND HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH THAT?
I have never read any articles or reviews in any newspapers or magazines about HARRY POTTER - I dont know what they are saying about me which means I have nothing to deal with.
DID YOU GROW UP IN LONDON? WHAT IS LONDON LIKE?
Yes I was born in London and am growing up in this city. London is always busy. It is a place that you can never be bored in as there are always so many things to do.
HOW DOES IT FEEL BEING... WELL BEING HARRY POTTER?
It feels cool!
I REMEMBER HEARING THAT YOU MAY NOT GET THE CHANCE TO PLAY HARRY IN THE UPCOMING MOVIES AND WANTED TO KNOW THE TRUTH.
No-one can predict what is going to happen to these films in the future so I dont even think about that. The most important thing for me is to live in the moment doing the best possible job I can do playing Harry and enjoying myself.
DO YOU WANT TO BE THE ACTOR WHO PLAYS HARRY POTTER IN ALL THE POTENTIAL MOVIES?
That's a difficult question because that is in the future and I dont know how I will feel about playing Harry in the future. I take one film at a time and enjoy that experience.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN TEN YEARS.
Absolutely no idea. I am interested in so many things - who knows what path I will follow.
WHAT'S BETTER, CHOCOLATE OR VANILLA ICE CREAM?
Actually my absolute favourite dessert is vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce.
ARE YOU GOING TO THE 3RD MOVIE? WELL, I JUST WANTED TO ASK AND TELL YOU THAT NOBODY CAN PLAY HARRY BETTER THAN YOU.
Yes, I am going to play Harry in PRISONER and thank you for your comment.
WHAT HOUSE AT HOGWARTS WOULD YOU BE SORTED INTO
Probably Gryffindor.
I JUST WANTED TO KNOW DOES IT SCARE YOU TO KNOW PEOPLE ARE OBSESSING OVER YOU? I MEAN YOU ARE JUST LIKE A NOMAL PERSON RIGHT?
I am not aware that people are obsessing over me and yes I am a scarily normal person.

The Quidditch picture, I don't know. It looks like Harry's taking off after something... but he got hurt at the first Quidditch match, didn't he? But he looks completely fine... and going for whatever it is everyone's looking at. Maybe that practice where Slytherin dropped on the Gryffindors with Malfoy and the new brooms? But then why are Ron and Hermione there? I need to go read these again.
And it's no wonder Ginny looks so bad in that picture, I'm assuming it's down in the Chamber.
Cedric

Yeah, that most likely is Dumbledore's, but who cares what it looks like, it's only a movie.
My best guess on the Quidditch picture is that it's something that they added (like Harry almost falling out of the car on the way to school), so you probably shouldn't bother trying to guess what it is, because you'll probably not get it right :)

I bet a big ugly creature worms its way through the surface of the ground, sprouts wings, grabs Ginny, and takes off into the air.
Harry screams and expresses his undying love for her, and takes off to save her life.

The Quidditch picture is just after Malfroy has called Hermoine a "Mudblood" and Ron`s wand backfires and makes him cough up slugs (if you look closely, Slytherin are all grinning, Hermoine looks disgusted, Griffindor look worried and Harry is racing to help).
That`s what I think it is anyway........

I don't think that's Ron behind Flint. For one thing, he's not that short. Also, I think it's more likely that it's the seventh member of the Slytherin Quidditch team...whoever that may be. Actually, it doesn't follow the book too well in that cause Malfoy was considerably shorter than the rest of his team.
Monkfish, I think you're right. It would explain why Ron isn't in the picture (which I don't think he is)
That's Dumbledore's office? I expected unusual...but that's just...*sob*...it's wrong! All wrong!

Please don't tell me Fawkes is going to resemble Iago in any way. At least (in the book, anyway) Fawkes doesn't talk.

Oh what loverly piccies!
OME, it's Oliver Wood! :swoon:
Fawkes looks sorta odd.
I always pictured Dumbledore's office to be cozier. Like a big round room when you came in the door with big comfy chairs in front of his desk and his chair behind it. Oh well. That looks more like the inside of a cottage than just one room! Well hey, it is a castle I suppose!
Ginny is great! She's definitely much like I imagined her!
Dude, Lucius is just freaky! That is seriously going to disturb me!
Well I hafta head to KD. See y'all later!

My thought of his office was to be very large, so the one they're using is probably going to be fine, I bet in the book they say it's big, because I usually try to model my image off what they tell me.
Here's the movie poster, hopes ya like it... But knowing you guys, you probably won't :D

*That's* the movie poster?? I think I'm going to cry.
It's too much like that old poster that had for ANH back in the 70's--the one with Luke baring his muscley chest and holding up his lightsabre like a violent weapon and Leia sitting next to him, baring as much as skin on her legs as possible. It's too much like that. Especially with the central protaganist--it's too much like they're trying to make Harry look all tough and threatening and intimidating with that sword and all it comes off as is...annoying. And I don't care much for either of the others in the poster either.
Hmm, I would have to disagree, Colli. I've seen better pics of Snape. :);)

SiriusBlack, I think the filming starts in February or so of this year... it's to be released in the summer of 2004.
Rumor has it that Gary Oldman has a part in the next two films, according to one of his respected fansites, but that's not confirmed.
And according to this (http://www.comingsoon.net/cgi-bin/archive/fullnews.cgi?newsid1041527960,87740,) article, neither Gamdon nor McKellen is Dumbledore.

He played the evil terrorist guy in Air Force One, and that's the only movie of his i've seen. BUT... he looks completely different in every picture of him I've seen.
He has a history of playing evil guys... it seems like he would make a good Sirius. Not as swoony as Viggo, but a good one anyway. :) And he's 45ish, so he can give Alan Rickman a run for his money, agewise. ;)

HARRY POTTER & THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN (2004)
Directed by Alphonso Cuaron. Written by Steve Kloves. Early word coming in here at the Moriarty Labs is that Cuaron is shaking up this franchise, and in a good way. He’s evidently questioning everything that’s come before, determined to retain what’s good and improve everything else. I got in a rumor over the weekend that Ian Brown (of the Stone Roses) has signed on for a small part in the film, and that casting efforts continue on characters like Sirius Black. Oh, and for the record, I don't care who's playing Dumbledore. Harry pranked me last week, and as a result, I've gotten so much e-mail on the matter that I hate the mere word now. I'm sure Warner Bros. will announce a decision soon. In the meantime, please give me some peace.
HARRY POTTER & THE GOBLET OF FIRE (2005)
Directed by Alphonso Cuaron (??) Written by Steve Kloves. Here’s the big question mark in the Potter franchise. All along, Chris Columbus (who’s still onboard as a producer, keep in mind) has said that they will likely tackle this as two sequels in the same year. I’m guessing the final decision will be based on how MATRIX RELOADED and MATRIX REVOLUTIONS do this year. At any rate, this is a challenge for any creative team involved, especially if they’re going to try to remain faithful to the 4,443,528 page book.
 Huzzah! GoF all in one year! Of course, that means we'll have to wait forever to get it *grumble*

From that British Newsround thingy:
In an interview with CBBC Newsround's Lizo Mzimba, he revealed that the DVD will have about 18 minutes of extra footage.
That includes the completely-shot scene in Bourgin and Burks.
Chris Columbus told Lizo it was a "fun" scene, and that there will even be two versions on the DVD.
:D More Snape, hopefully? (yes, Elfea, I'm hopeless. So I've heard. ;))

Did someone say Gary Oldman and Harry Potter in the same sentence!? Oooooo!!! If you want a great Gary Oldman movie, see the one where he plays Beethoven, with Isabella Rosellini. Sorry, forgot the title. Maybe it's....Beethoven? He's a fantastic actor. I can't imagine what role he'll play though. If this series gets any more of my favorite actors, I'm gonna scream....Richard Harris, Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith, Kenneth Branaugh, Jason Issacs (!), Robbie Coltraine, John Cleese, jeez, the list just goes on and ON!!! Hey. What about the Hugh Jackman rumour I heard somewhere about 3 months ago? As Lupin? Is that one dead? Oh, I hope not!

Nope, and I quote right from the book:
They belonged, as Harry saw when he raised his head, to a triple-decker, violently purple bus which appeared out of thin air. Gold lettering above the windshield spelled The Knight Bus.

I'd imagine the Black Rider/Dementor question is part of what's needing to be debated right now .... I imagine the dementors as being dressed in dark grey, I don't know if I got that from the book or didn't read the description carefully enough. That would make them slightly different from the black riders. They've also got bodies under their cloaks so we could get more shots of hands sticking out and glimpses of their faces.Or we could go the Black Rider idea rejected by Jackson & co... and give them all the faces of Teletubbies.

Don't see Fudge's name in there either:(. Of course his part is pretty small, and could fairly easily be replaced. Realistically I think some things do need to be cut for the sake of film length, but I would think Divination class was rather important to the plot, increasing Harry's paranoia of the Grim and his own possible death.

Potter fan snaps Azkaban film set
One hopeful Potter fan visiting England decided to take a chance and went to the Leavesden Studios near London, just in case they saw some Potter filming.
Amazingly, Allison and her mum happened upon the filming of the Magnolia Crescent scenes from Prisoner of Azkaban.
Like any true Potter fan, the Australian tourist immediately whipped out her camera and took all the pictures she could.
Allison then sent all the images to the Leaky Cauldron website along with a report on her experiences.
In the book, Magnolia Crescent is where Harry first sees the Grim after running away from the Dursleys. It's also where the Knight Bus appears.
Although Allison talks about security being strict on set, they were obviously friendly too.
A television had been set up for onlookers and a nearby policeman seemed very informed, sharing gossip about the production.

Magnolia Crescent is the street Harry stopped at when he ran away from the Dursleys, and where the Knight Bus picked him up. I wonder how they keep that thing from falling over?;) (BTW, it looks eerily like I imagined it, but darker) I like the sign above the door!:D
Maybe they're saving Cho for movie 4? But Trelawney seems to play an important if not big part, so I wonder how they'll be able to cut her out? Maybe they want to avoid controversy (with the Occult)?
It seems like they've started filming really early for a movie that won't come out for over a year:confused:

However, unlike Sirius and Lupin, Oliver Wood was never one of my favorite book characters. I thought he was incredible funny in his absurdly obsessive way, but I didn't swoon for him. I thought of him looking more like an (American) football player or something.:p Not that I don't mind Sean Biggerstaff and his amazing swooniness, but he's not really the Oliver Wood of the book, if ya know what I mean.:)

Wow, so my sister isnt the only one who obsesses over Oliver Wood ;) she loves him to the end of the earth. A die hard fan I must say. She has even tracked down his old band Crambo, which is now the tunes throughout car and household.
A I must say, any well built/cute guy in a kilt makes a girl :swoon:
I think it might just be a factor of life for us. I would not mind seeing some of the others in the cast wearing a kilt...
That and the accent thing, it's just something a girl cant resist.
I also agree with swift, I imagined Oliver to be cast differantly, and they downcast his obsession for Quidditch, and that really off sets the character. Making him even more swoony.
And as for a bad boy I wouldn't mind seeing in a kilt...Tom Riddle would really look good wrapped in Tartan ;)
Elfëa
02-23-2003, 11:23 AM
Riddle is kilt :swoon:
I think BiggerStaff (:swoon: for the name... it really makes girl think...:o) fits in the role in a way - but they have just downcasted his obsession with Quiddicth. And we just don't get enough of him... :(

Yep, Sean and Christian are cuties. Colombus has stated that Sean has his vote as a future James Bond. How's that for action in a kilt! And I've heard that Christian Coulson will be in a "Hornblower" movie this spring with another cutie, Ioan Gruffudd. It may have already shown in Britain.
However, I wouldn't mind seeing Jason Issacs and Alan Rickman in a kilt, either.;)

NEWS! :D
I typed it up myself!
South London Press Friday 28th February 2003
Harry’s Arch arrival by Peter Harrison
Harry Potter is coming to south London to film part of the latest chapter in the epic saga due for release next year.
Last-minute preparations were being made to a set under the railway bridge at Borough Market this week, for one of the scenes from the long awaited Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is due to be shot next week.
Workmen were putting together a temporary brick doorway leading into premises underneath the bridge to be featured in the final production.
This is the latest in a series of film and television productions to be set in the south London location, which have featured Bridget Jones’ Diary, Lock, Stock, and Two smocking barrels and Entrapment which starred Bafta award winner Catherine Zeta Jones and Sean Connery.
In this film, the third of the series of JK Rowling’s popular Harry Potter books, the teenage wizard comes face-to-face with Sirius Black, an escapee of notorious prison for wizards.
Yet again young Harry’s life is put at risk by the followers of the evil wizard Voldermort, but fear not, the lad and his mates will undoubtedly save the day.
The part of Sirius Black is played by New Cross born actor Gary Oldman who was a student at the Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama in Sidcup from 1976 to 1979
Timothy Spall, who lives in Honor Oak, is also appearing in the film as Peter Pettigrew.
And it seems the workmen are not new to the world of film, as painted along the ladder was the title of the most recent film, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
Winifred Joseph, assistant financial controller of Borough Market, said “I can confirm that filming of the Harry Potter film will e taking place at the weekend on SUNDAY.
“The Third Hand Book Emporium is not one of our shops, that is something the film crew has created.”
I'll get the picture up soon :)

I think this suggests a severe shortage of Quiddich in the film - otherwise, why is Oliver out? But...then what about the Firebolt - and the scene in which Harry falls due to the Dementors? Have the script writers gone daft? If they are going to try to include all the quiddich WITHOUT Wood, then....Why?!? What's the point of cutting him out?
sirius2004

if u really think about there's been a major shortage of quidditch in the PS (SS whatever...:-p) and CoS....a whole...what? 3 scenes of it...MAYBE??
Kristin
03-11-2003, 06:01 PM
I don't get it! How can there be no Quidditch? It's central to the plot. And it's when Gryffindor finally wins the cup. I can understand paring it down, like they did in the first two movies. But cutting it completely?!?!  Makes no sense.
Oh well. I guess that's why I'll always prefer the books. :)

That scene in particular, he does look rather adorable when he's in shock. I have a Harry Potter pull off calendar, and I save all the Oliver shots for my sister. There are quite a few if you think about it. :)
I think they'll make Sirius fit to his description, a bit gaunt, and worn. But still mysterious. We'll just have to wait.

Ok.. I'm confused.
We've got some actor dude to play a wolf.. presumably Lupin.
This isn't going to end up looking like The Princess Bride's ROUSes, is it?
http://images.icnetwork.co.uk/upl/icnorthwales/mar2003/6/6/0002F436-EBBF-1E75-BC6E80BFB6FA0000.jpg
THE thrilling adventures of apprentice wizard Harry Potter and his friends have gripped millions of fans around the globe.
Now a North Wales actor has been left spellbound himself after being chosen to star in the latest blockbuster Potter movie - Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
Spencer Wilding, of Rhyl, puts his astonishing break in landing his part - of a wolf - down to his imposing 6ft 7in tall frame and lithe physique.
Spencer - known as Big Spen - is a former champion kickboxer who keeps himself in shape and brushes off rivals better than a trainee wizard in a bruising Quidditch match at Harry's school, Hogwarts.
In his new role the 30-year-old will be starring alongside talented British actors Gary Oldman, Timothy Spall, Sir Michael Gambon, David Thewlis, Pam Ferris and Paul Whitehouse.
Last night Spencer told the Daily Post: "It's like a dream and I'm very excited.
"I've been chosen for the part along with a ballet dancer from Holland!
"That's one of the reasons I was a kick boxer - to do well and get noticed.
"It was a painful way to get noticed but it was all part of the jigsaw of getting my name known."
Asked if the rumours were true that he was playing a wolf, he replied: "Rumours are rumours. You'll have to wait and see."
He attended two auditions in Leavesden Studios, near London, earlier this month.
He said: "We had to do lots of exercises and stretching. A lot of it was to do with fitness and body measurements. The rest was down to acting ability."
He has already been on set and came close to meeting Harry Potter - Daniel Radcliffe himself.
Spencer said: "I was 10 feet from Harry Potter. He was filming and I didn't meet him although I'm sure he's a lovely guy. His character is nice anyway.
Spencer's new part in The Prisoner of Azkaban is something he could scarcely have dreamed of as a boy.

Of course they'll have Thewlis. They have to.:( Maybe they're going for the more traditional werewolf, that is a big beastly hairy man rather than a wolf. But didn't JKR state that he was a wolf? Like on all fours and everything? I never thought about it before, but all the movies and tv shows I've seen with werewolves the werewolf isn't an actual dog but sort of a cross. And I think he'll be better than an ROUS, makeup and CGI are better than they used to be. So far the HP films have had pretty good FX.

He is rather short, for most men anyhow. Harry has a stuint double, I guess they figured it was ok. Will we be able to tell, because of the makeup? And if we didnt know about the stand in would we notice it wasn't Thewlis?

Well, on p. 353 of my PoA Lupin states that after taking Wolfsbane Potion "I am able to curl up in my office, a harmless wolf, and wait..." and on p. 381, "Hair was sprouting visibly on his face and hands, which were curling into clawed paws." Since I expect a bipedal semi-humanoid werewolf would have hands rather than paws (though the hands could also be clawed) I'll count this as two separate JKR quotes in favor of a fully wolflike wolf-form for Remus. Of course, since creatures have so far been the weak point in the CGI for the HP films, my expectations are not high. :p

Well, I don't know.... but it looks like this Wilding guy might play a "stunt" role in PoA. Wow. 6'7"!! That's as tall as Peter Mayhew....WHOOPS...wrong website, wrong forum! Sorry. But my goodness, what kinda werewolf would THAT be! Really scary, methinks. And I agree, Lithorose & Moxie, that he'll probably play the "undiluted" Lupin werewolf, when he didn't take his potion. Part man, part wolf. And with Wildings martial arts skills, it sounds like we're in for a really cool fight scene between him and Oldman. (Hmmm....hope they get a stunt double for the fight scene for Oldman...maybe Ray Parks! WHOOPS! Wrong forum again!)

Perhaps someone can find a quote from the book to refute this, but I never got the impression that Lupin turned into a part man, part wolf creature. Even before the potion, they talked about all four of them wandering around together in animal form. Would have been pretty hard to wander around with a half human/half wolf creature. A full wolf with another large black dog, though, could have passed for a mere animal. Having his friends with him, in animal form, allowed him to 'keep his mind' - similar to the potion, but I always thought he turned into a wolf, not part wolf.

Thanks Colli :D
Chiana: Actually, David Thewlis (http://us.imdb.com/Name?Thewlis,%20David) is playing Lupin. Oldman is playing Sirius.
I found more evidence in the book that it is really just a wolf. In the chapter where Snape is teaching the class, Hermione begins talking about how the werewolf differs from the real wolf. She gets cut off (Snape gives his 'insufferable know-it-all' line), but she begins by saying 'The Werewolf differes from the real wolf in several small ways. The snout....
Sounds like a werewolf must look mostly like a regular wolf then. If Herm. said it, it must be so ;)

In his new role the 30-year-old will be starring alongside talented British actors Gary Oldman, Timothy Spall, Sir Michael Gambon, David Thewlis, Pam Ferris and Paul Whitehouse.

Ok, right, if "Herm" said it....but WHY would they need a 6'7" double for Lupin? That's SOME werewolf!! I think the director has got something new up his sleeve..... But Wilding himself wouldn't admit to playing the "wolf". Is there some other part in PoA that he could play? As a 6'7" champion kickboxer? Wow.

As of November 2002, Chris Columbus has not ruled out returning to direct this movie. In order to balance the attention spans of young viewers and the length of the book (and resulting richness of information needed to put the story on-screen), Columbus has talked about filming this movie in two 2-hour acts. Act 1 would be released around Thanksgiving 2005, and would end in a cliffhanger. Act 2 would be released a month later, around Christmas 2005, picking up where Act 1 left off.
And you all laughed when i suggested that it be released in two parts (don't remember when/where i said it but i DO remember saying it :p)

Sirius...right you are! That's really the only way perphaps they can do it. I'm worried they'll leave out half the book or something like that. If PoA garners as much attention and money as the first two, hopefully they'll have enough financial backing to do two movies like that for GoF. And it probably will. CoS is still showing in theatres in my town and the DVD comes out in 3 weeks!

I'm sure there is no real financial limit for the next two films. Because if you think about it, the could spend a billion dollars on the next film and make double the amount in ticket sales alone. Harry Potter is that famous, they probably have the saying

I agree Chiana. HP makes money. But then what POSSIBLE reason could they have for deleting Quidditch from PoA other than time and/or money restraints? The games were such a huge part of the plot. Well, they're deleting Sean Biggerstaff at any rate. Maybe they'll shoot the matches without him? That would be a loss in of itself.
ChianaWeasley
03-29-2003, 07:22 PM
Well from the rumors, I figure their cutting out Quidditch all together, as to why I have no clue. But they wouldn't be daft enough to shoot Quidditch without Biggerstaff. I think due to the long plot and time restraints their cutting it out. Im crossing my fingers and hoping that its just a rumor and there will be Quidditch and they'll rehire Biggerstaff. We can only hope :D

Slytherin players aren't going to be in the film either... but that would mean they cut out the scene of false Dementor! :(
But, then again, they might "rewrite" the scene and leave Quiddicth out of it...
alqua
03-30-2003, 07:48 AM
Well, in the two frist movies the quidditch has been totally irrelevant to the plot and has only been taking time from more important scenes, so I'd understand perfectly if Cuaron chooses not to use any quidditch scenes in this movie.
Although, if I had been in charge, I probably would have skipped the quidditch in CoS, rather than in PoA, because there the quidditch has a bit more important role (the fake dementors, Harry breaking his broom, getting Firbolt etc.). But if Cuaron finds another way to get this stuff in, I won't be missing quidditch.

do we know FOR SURE that Sean was cut out? if we do is it possible that:
A) they cut him for reasons unknown...
B) he left for reasons unknown?
he might've decided he wanted to move on to bigger and (to him) better things than children's movies. He's not that major of a character, maybe someone else offered him a lead in another promising movie, but he couldn't do both??

We went along to the POA filming in Palmers green yesterday and got chatting to a man working on the film; he was telling us some of the scenes that had been shot already - the aunt Marge bit is slightly different from the book, apparently she floats out into the conservatory and then into the sky, Uncle Vernon grabs her ankle and the dog jumps at his. Also ... they've kept ... Snape dressed in woman's clothing when the students have their lesson about boggarts with Lupin. Oh and apparently the models of the Dementors are really scary.

I've got to disagree... Neville's good at Herbology but pretty incompetent at everything else, while Sam is more competent than most people - especially himself! - give him credit for (at least until after the Scouring of the Shire, when he's elected Mayor despite his working-class background). I'll reserve judgement on exactly who Sam most resembles until the HP series is done, but so far Neville seems an unlikely candidate to me.

GamGee becomes mayor of the SHIRE?!?!?!
I dont mean to sound pathetic or moronic, but I never finished the books. But I adore Sam's character, one of the best I've read about so far.
I agree with Moxie too. Neville and Sam are definatley not the "one in the same" characters. Sam is brave and courageous, intelligent, wise(LOL).
Neville is not very brave or courageous he let himself be trampled on. Jeez I'm so sick of that, someone give the boy some courage! The wizards slackin' again!
Well Im sure he could be much more of a hero in the position Sam was in. But Sam is also a much deeper character, Neville is a stock character, there to make people laugh. He's the guy everyone picks on and practices spells on. Sam is funny sure, but I would never treat him like I could Neville.
With Neville I could be buddy buddy with and goof off with, but with Sam I'd look up and respect him more. and I've gotten carried away haven't I?....sorry:o

Actually, Neville's situation reminds me a bit of a really good (but probably not for the young, the violence occasionally gets graphic) trilogy, The Deed of Paksenarrion by Elizabeth Moon. At one point, "Paks" fears she has forever lost the courage that made her a great warrior, and goes to one Master Oakhallow for help and advice; he tells her that "courage is going on" and is shown not always by going forth with weapons to battle your enemies, but sometimes just in going on living in the face of adversity... just as Neville keeps going on knowing his parents suffer an ongoing fate worse than death (which I can relate to a bit, my father was ill for many years and several times I heard him wish for death). It's not an obvious sort of courage, I suppose, but it's been there through all Neville's years at Hogwarts - and that ability to carry on despite a horrid situation may make a true hero of Neville yet before the HP series is done. (I'd also like to see him go into research Herbology in an effort to cure his parents and discover something really useful, but that's just me.)
Terry

Yeah, they're showing some of the ready footage now.
From a common (and rather unconventional) news site that I won't post the name of seeing as how it frequently goes beyond our site's rating ;):
The look is much much darker and creepier. The sets are the same, but the lighting, etc. is much more shadowy. The scenes [the source's friend] saw were: Pam Ferris being blown up, the initial train scenes with the dementors (who hadn't been put in yet), Michael Gambon as Dumbledore (he's more commanding, threatening and moody), and a scene with Dumbledore racing upstairs which she thought looked a bit odd as you wouldn't think he would be so nimble.
Gary Oldman as Sirius is as described in book – really greasy long black hair and shabby clothes. The werewolf is enormous and the different heads for the transformation are quite horrific. She thinks that this might get a twelve rating over here. The animagus sirius is also huge and effective with someone inside controlling the animatronics.
I'm REALLY excited to see how Gary Oldman and Michael Gambon are looking, it sounds like Alfonso Cuaron is doing an excellent job. But if the rating gets bumped up to PG-13, it won't hurt the audience that much, will it? Maybe parents will FINALLY think twice before taking their 5-year-old, but 10 year olds will find a way in.

PG-13 is only a suggestion. Whereas R movies ban people younger than 17 without a parent, PG-13 is only a recommendation. So movie theaters should allow 11-year-olds in.
We have that same bit out front. :)

It's not an official limit but it will make a lot of parents think twice about allowing their kids to see it. And I have a feeling it will only fuel the anti-Potter people.:(

From The Leaky Cauldron (http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org),
Just received trusted word that you can expect a first trailer for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban to be attached to Looney Tunes: Back in Action due in U.S. theaters on November 14. Not that far now!
#1) YAY! A trailer!
#2) Looney Tunes?!?!??! I guess we can always download it. *sigh*
(Oh, and Kristin, it seems MuggleNet finally picked up on that article about the 17-year-old girl. ;))

I figured it was about time to get back to my old news posting habits. I would have started a new thread, like old times, but I thought people would get mad at me for that...
I'd send them to Kristin, like I have been doing, but I'm always worried that she's already got what I'm sending. So I'll just post what's not on the main page here.
I'll start off with an interview with JKR, I guess Dateline talked to her... Think I missed that one... Anyway, head over to the cauldron (http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/quickquotes/articles/2003/0620-dateline-couric.htm) to read it up.
And yet another interview, this time courtesy of Potterish (http://www.potterish.com/).
Oh, by the way, Griffiths is Vernon, and Melling is Dudley.
"Omelete: Are you guys already filming with Alfonso Cuarón?
Richard Griffiths: To tell you the truth, we're already done. The only reason that we are here, it's because they don't need us at the set anymore.
O: What's the difference between Cuarón and Chris Columbus?
RG: You can't tell yet. We're a bad part of the story, the unliked. Of course there's the basic difference, which is the form of how each one treats the project and everyone knows that the story will become more darker from now on. What I thought was interesting, is that Alfonso showed us that there should be more fear. Harry's more powerful each time. We're not a threat to him anymore. Now he can act on his own, in a frightening way. In the beginning, we were evil. Now, we want to be, but we don't have this power anymore. We were scared all the time, that Harry was gonna do something to us.
O: Is it hard to be a Dursley in the real life?
Harry Melling: Truthfully, the people practically don't know me for Dudley, which is great. It would be really bad if they knew [Translator's note: I think he's referring to girls>.
RG: What no one knows about Harry [Melling, (Dudley)>, is that he wears those "fattening" clothes, which makes him gigantic. When he puts those clothes on he turns into Dudley Dursley, but at the end of the day, he takes it off and goes back to being this normal, healthy kid. I don't have that problem (slapping his enormous belly) Hahahaha.
O: And at school, what do your friends say?
HM: They keep on calling me Dudley Dursley, but they're joking around. It's fun.
O: Would you like to be Harry Potter, to change a little?
HM: No. I like Dudley. I like to interpret evil people, hehehe.
O: How do you think people will react at this darker Potter movie?
RG: The stories are becoming more dark and I think that's what makes them more attractive. Because the people that saw the first movie were 13 and 14 years olds, they're growing along with the story. So it's natural of movies to also grow, and become more complex and mature. Of course there will always be new children of 10 years, to see the first movie and repeat the cycle. They wouldn't be able to use the same people and repeat the stories changing just a little. It wouldn't be fun.
In the fourth book, new problems begins to arise, in normal relations of sexuality. The hormones are changing these kids. But I think everything starts in Prisoner of Azkaban.
O: And what about the fourth movie?
RG: I hope it is made. When I signed the contract for the first movie, there was an option on whether I wanted to be in the fourth one. But the difference between this option and really filming it, is really big. First the producers need to decide if they'll make it.
If this movie (Azkaban), goes well, they should make the next one. I don't know what will happen, but that production is something big. On one side, you think that there's no way that there won't be a fourth movie, since there's a lot of money invested here. But I've seen projects that were being filmed, and suddenly cancelled. Out of nowhere the people come and say "We don't have any more money to continue. Here's your payment, you can go home."
O: And you Harry (Melling), also have this option to be in the fourth movie?
HM: Yes. I received that option when I signed the contract for the second movie. But just how Richard was saying, it's just an option.
RG: But it's great. It means they like you!
O: How long did you guys work on this movie?
RG: We worked for about a month, and maybe we'll go back for a few more days, if they need to redo something.
O: Harry, do you get along well with the other kids?
HM: Yes, always. This month that we spent filming, I had to go to school with them.
RG: The children here have to study. It's classes with more than 300 kids.
O: Is participating in the Harry Potter movies turning into a routine, or is this impossible?
HM: A little. It's kind of like going to school: you wake up, change clothes and go. But of course it's more fun."
And lastly, the Dutch cover of the new book.

Hey all! As Kristin so keenly spotted (see front page), there's a name floating around as a possible director for the Goblet of Fire movie: Mike Newell
He's British. Certainly that will make many of you happy. ;)
And (unless I just didn't see it on the front page) there's this piece of information/rumor also: That filmmakers are "planning" on a November 2005 release date for the GoF movie and a June 2007 date for OotP. 2007???? That's 4 years down the road! Can you imagine the progress moviemakers will have made in the special effects department? They may be able to pull OotP off yet! :D
Anyway, those are just rumors. But it's fun to speculate, ja?

Cuaron definitely isn't doing GoF, acc. to this quote from Entertainment Weekly:
It was always only "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" for me. I never thought [seriously] about continuing." Though he was approached about doing "Goblet" (slated for 2005) while finishing "Azkaban" (coming out next June) seemed too daunting. "Frankly," says Cuaron, smiling impishly, "I'm extremely lazy." Still, he dreads saying adios to "Potter" stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint. "That will be very painful," he says. "They're growing fantastically as actors. But it's up to the next director to enjoy them."

Yeah I don't know why they feel the need for the kids to look like they just stepped out of The Gap. I think its annoying, personally. I always imagined the kids to wear robes while they're at Hogwarts..... The whole point in the books is that wizards don't dress like Muggles.

shrugs I suppose my objection is more to the casualness and possibly trendiness of the clothing than to the girliness of Hermione's outfit. I was quite like Hermione at that age and still was into rainbows and all that stuff, so being a brainiac and liking girly clothing aren't necessarily mutually exclusive (though I think spouse's sister took it to a bit of extreme insisting on wearing pretty dresses while playing in dirt and climbing trees and all that good kid stuff :)) However, clothing that looks fashionable when the movie comes out can make it look horribly dated a few years later :p and I'm pretty sure Rowling didn't intend her stories to be stuck in a particular time period.

look closely. emma's head is the wrong shape. daniel's face is odd looking, and its all out of perspective. thewlis looks hunched over and smarmy, and oldman (who i actually think is rather attractive) is heavily made up to give him the haggard aged look.
if i were you i wouldn't take this picture as gospel. whoever took it was either a pathetic photographer or they've got their hands on a reel and taken a random still off for the purposes of the article, and chose a little carelessly.
he'll get more attractive at the very end of the film. and GoF? whoa... hottie alert!
Deagol's Bane

I always think of Oldman as sort of a crazy character, and he seems pretty good at it, but I don't think of Sirius as that kind of a crazy, kooky character. Also, he doesn't have the natural English accent, does he?
It might be hard for me to see him as anyone but Gary Oldman even with the get-up.
I don't know anything about Thewlis. I've never really had a mental pic of Lupin.

They are correct, Thewlis always has a scowl kind of look on his face. Whether he's angry or not, I think it's the expression his face settles to. shrugs
But you notice Ron's hair, it's quite a lovely shade of red...

Did you see this (from the-leaky-cauldron.org)? This is from a translation of the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet.
(From Emma)
And then, they’ve got some news to share.
“We’re in for the fourth movie as well.”
It’s been speculated that Daniel, Emma and Rupert were to be replaced for the fourth film, as they are going on fifteen and getting too old.
“But that won’t happen, not for this time.”
Are you in for the fifth movie?
“We’re not up to speculate on that - one movie at a time.”
“The Prisoner of Azkaban” goes up in Swedish theatres in august next year.

going back to the discussion over lupin's moustache... i'm sure i read somewhere that it's been confirmed and he will have a moustache... i'll try and find the quote. But i'm as disappointed as you fleur :( When we found out who was cast as black and lupin i was worried about oldman and happy about thewlis... and now it's soooo the other way round! oldman looks fantastic, and please... whoever said that, he is british, he does have a british accent! besides the fact that the man is a master of accents! he's used a different accent in every film he's ever acted in! have any of you ever seen 'rosencrantz and goldenstein are dead' ?? fantastic film, oldman is so so funny and sexy and gormless and cute in that film, and i think his accent is perfect for sirius, home counties british, ability to annunciate properly, but with a touch of cockney.... just like the queen ;)
Thewlis on the other hand... has a horrible accent! bleugh... hmmm.... why didn't they cast rallph fiennes????
anyway... i digress... moustache... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
xKatiexBellx

Why didn't they cast Ralph Fiennes?????
Ooooooh, I have to agree with you there... he would've done a wonderful job!

NOOOO!!!!! He can't have a moustache! TOM SELLECK HAS A MOUSTACHE!!! :barf: oh god... they can't... that's so... wrong... I say we storm the set and give him a shave!!
I know why Ralph Fiennes isn't playing Remus... When I went to see Phantom of The Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre on Tuesday.... I got out the taxi and saw Ralph Fiennes face on a poster (looked perfect for Remus... Remus was the first thing that popped into my head lol) across the Haymarket... He's in a play... in the theatre royal, haymarket... *cries*

Well Thewlis does have a rather odd accent, but i think it may fit the Lupin character. The moustache...well lets just not talk about that ;)

Do you know how Alan Lee and John Howe were hired to give LOTR a certain 'look'? I wish the producers would hire Marta from artdungeon to do the same thing for the HP movies.
Fleurdelacour

Yeah Athelas, that'd be great :) I hae a special set of LotR books illustrated by Alan Lee, they're just amazing... :notworthy
I've not heard Thewlis speak... Never even seem him act... Can anyone recommned a film he is in? Might rent it out....
Let's just pretend there's no moustache, we should close our eyes on any close ups in the film, or duck behind our tubs of popcorn... Or have a mental image of Ralph Fiennes. Or, you'll be crying throughout PoA so you won't see him through your tears...

Try Dragonheart or the newer Island of Dr Moreau. Neither are all that great... just pick your eye candy. Dragonheart also includes one Jason Isaacs (shirtless I might add), The Island of Dr Moreau has one very hot very islandish looking shirtless Val Kilmer. :)
Thewlis has an AWFUL voice. I can't imagine him saying "You heard James?" in the same tone as my Lupin.

Only watch Dragonheart if you have a strong tolerance for less-than-average movies.;)
He was also in Seven Years in Tibet and Dinotopia. Dinotopia was dreadful, but 7 yrs. was passable, in spite of Brad Pitt.
I still think he'll be okay. Not until I actually see the movie will I change my mind, if it needs it.
So, when do you all think we might get a trailer? Japan's supposed to be hyping the movie in December, so maybe then? That still seems early for a movie that isn't out till June. I can't believe it's still so far away!!
ChianaWeasley
09-05-2003, 11:02 PM
I'm going to give Thewlis a chance, besides, doesn't everyone deserve a chance? :)
Well, I'm thinking we'll start seeing trailers....near the end of October. They usual hype about a month in a half before a film comes out, BUT you must remember what movie this is ;) They're going to build this up as much as they can, I'm not surprised to see a teaser fairly soon.

Dinotopia was on telly around New Year, didn't bother watching it though - looked awful, and it seems it was! :p
I'll try Dragonheart out... I normally have zero tolerance on average movies... But a shirtless Jason Issacs... :D Bah, I may be tempted!
I found something regarding a trailer!
From Leaky Cauldron,

HP3 Trailer Debut Date
Thanks Beckie, for informing us that Dark Horizons says that the HP3 trailer will appear on December 5 next to Tom Cruise's The Last Samurai; (many TLC readers will remember that we reported that the trailer would debut on November 14, attached to Loony Tunes: Back in Action.) We'll find out which or if both are true (Samurai just may be another movie to which the trailer will be attached).
December... not to far away I guess... Don't fancy watching a Tom Cruise film though...

Hey guys, I've got some random casting tidbits I've picked up, that you've surely known for a lot longer than me!!
Julie Christie has signed on to play Madam Rosmerta :)
and The Herald Sun (http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5478,7460354%5E2902,00.html) reports that Emma Thompson will be playing Trelawney.
Now I like Emma Thompson. But as TRELAWNEY??? You've got to be kidding me. I'm not liking the casting in this movie at all.

Aw...why does Felton have to dress up like a rapper? :(
Woo-hoo! Rupert is into pool! Good ole' Rupert!
Y Tu Mama Tambien eh? wow, my sister saw that feature, apparently it is pretty raunchy. Our Daniel is growing up ;)
And kudos to emma for being taller then the boys, no only if I could grow five inches then we'd be on the same playing field:D

Emma Thompson as Trelawney? Hm, certainly not someone I would've thought of, though I really like Thompson's work. I think she could be great in the role, though very different than I imagine Trelawney.
Now her sister Sophie I can imagine. (Sophie played Mrs. Bates in Emma, very funny!) :D

The trailer was on newsround! I nearly died!
The dementor's hand looks just how I imagined...
The Knight Bus looked brilliant, still looked as if it was going to fall over! :D :p (y'know what, I keep on forgetting I was on the set for that bit...)
Remus still looks like Hitler... He has that leering sneering look I despise
Snape in Mrs Longbottoms clothes - BRILLIANT! :D
Mad cackling Sirius - all I can think of is "he's a goner..." But I dont like the fact he is mad and cacking. Buy hey, I guess wizards air brush in a different way to us Muggles :p
I didn't like the choir much. The voices added a creepy element, but they didnt need to show a choir as if Hogwarts had one... OR maybe Hogwarts does, its just that Hermione, Harry and Ron don't show any musical talent, unless you count blowing on a handmade flute :p

Well usually when they release movie trailers there are about two-three or four different versions. No really, think about it, one version is released in the U.S. and then one is released in Europe. And THEN there is another version released in america for the movie theatre, which is always different then the one they show on television. And then they release a theatre one in europe which is different from the one they show on the telly. So it's about four different versions:p Oh the excitment

Here's a bit from Jason Isaacs about GoF:
"I don't know whether they're going to put Lucius Malfoy in or not. If I thought begging would do any good, I'd be out there every day. But that would probably just irritate them."
(The full bit is on the front page.)
I just love that he feels this way about the part. That's so cool! :D
And, I might add, I absolutely adore him as Lucius. Book Lucius is just mean and nasty. Movie Lucius is mean and nasty and just so incredibly sexy! :swoon:
I think I've said it before, but ... in CoS, when he says "Now, now Draco, play nicely" I want to shout "I'll play nicely with you, Mr. Malfoy!" :o ;)

Casting for dear Mr. Isaacs was indeed perfect...and might I suggest, instead of GoF (if it does stink) we can have the promised book (made into film, of course) of Lucius's early romantic adventures?

If you loved JI as Lucius, then you will REALLY love him as Hook. He was perfect, dead-sexy, and made the part his own. I just don't think I can envision another person as Hook anymore.
