Avatars are small graphical images that you may choose in your profile. They are displayed below your username on all posts that you make.

Members who have over 50 posts will be able to use an avatar (please do not post slut* to accumulate those 50 posts).

The maximum size allowed for your avatar is 50 by 50 pixels or 20000 bytes (whichever is smaller).

Avatars must be of a PG rating or less.

There are two kinds of avatars: those provided by the Muggle Informer and those that you upload yourself.

We have several default avatars to choose from. If you are not yet a registered member, click on the How do I get a picture under my username? (http://muggleinformer.net/forums/misc.php?s=&action=faq&page=1#avatar) link in the FAQ (http://muggleinformer.net/forums/misc.php?s=&action=faq) and follow the links from there. If you are already a registered member, go to your Profile (http://muggleinformer.net/forums/usercp.php?s=). Then go to Edit Options (http://www.muggleinformer.net/forums/member.php?s=&action=editoptions) and choose Change Avatar (http://muggleinformer.net/forums/member.php?s=&action=editavatar). The default avatars will be visible on the next page that displays.

You may also upload a graphic from your hard drive. If you need to alter a graphic to fit the size requirements, etc, you can use a graphic program on your computer and there are also some websites on the net that you can use. One site is Gif Works (http://www.gifworks.com). You can only alter gif files on this site. Another site is myImager.com (http://www.myimager.com). You can alter both gif and jpg files there.

Most AIM Buddy Icons will also work as avatars. Some sites to check for these are Dragid (http://www.dragid.com/?page=blobs2), Icon-O-Rama (http://www.aol.americangreetings.com/tribe/iam/), and Millian.net (http://www.millan.net).
