Letters and the Past by LuthienElentari

Dear, Harry

Greetings from the Burrow! Yes, I'm here I'm quite shocked that you haven’t come yet. Is everything all right? May I ask I mean you still have not come to the Burrow, you have not answered my letters or Ron’s (but I guess you can't write back if you can't read the handwriting) but
handwriting or not you should still give us some idea where you are and what’s going on. Please write back I'm especially worried because rumors are going around about a shadow in the west.

Your friend,
Hermione

She finished her name with almost a tear in her eye. She didn't dare write about what she was truly worried about because this letter might get into the wrong hands. This worry was consuming her, and even Ron couldn't comfort her. Nothing could comfort her when the world was so lost and when Sirius was lost. “ Hermione are you ok?” Ron asked as he opened the door. “I’m fine, but I can’t help but wonder if the rumors are true I mean no letters no Daily Prophet no Hogwarts letters something is wrong and no one seems to want to talk about it and Sirius and Dumbledore are captured what else could go wrong” Hermione sounded like she might cry , even though she was sixteen years old she still cried a lot. Ron came over to Ginny’s desk and gave Hermione a hug and reassured her that Dumbledore and Sirius were smart and that they could figure out a way to escape Azkaban along with her parents.

After Ron left the room Hermione started getting lost in her own
thoughts and after awhile she saw total darkness. The only thing she could here was the wind scraping the ground like a knife striking a battlefield she saw letters , letters passing in front of her eyes and a voice calling out " The past is repeating and only you can save Harry and Ron" whispered a familiar voice

Is this story a dud .I know it’s the beginning and there is more shocks to come but does it have a good start?. Don’t mind the grammar and language after all I’m only a fifth grader!

This is good! You're only in fifth grade!? whoa... this is good!! Aside from some grammatical errors that are so easily fixed.... you've got a good solid start. You've established some of the characters you're gonna use, some of the plot, but not too much cuz I can see a mystery unfolding... give a holla if you want me to beta ;)
definitely keep going

"What is going on! where I'm I?, did you say that Harry’s and Ron’s fate rested with me, because right now I’m to stressed out to concentrate on the fate of the world, and this dang darkness! is driving me insane” screamed Hermione in frustration. Hermione had never gotten this frustrated in her whole life well, maybe the time she got called a mudblood but this was too unsettling for her. " Something happened in the past that broke Lilly and James even Voldermort, history is repeating itself , Hermione I will leave you with these letters of the past but you must not let your emotions help evil forces”.

There was a sudden flicker like a candle going out and Hermione was back in Ginny’s room at her old desk. Hermione woke with a start she had apparently been dreaming but this dream was too real to be a dream. Hermione lifted up her arms to stretch when all of a sudden she felt a soft object slide off her pink robe she looked at the ground and saw crippled yellow letters tied in a red bow on the wooden floor.

Hermione reached down and grabbed the letters and placed them on the desk.
Ginny’s candle left wavy shadows on the yellow letters which made them look mysterious and almost like the person who wrote them was ashamed of them. Slowly Hermione unraveled the knot which held the letters and took the first letter in the pile and began to read it.

Dear, Madame

When I first saw you at Diagon Alley I couldn’t help but notice you beautiful green eyes and your flaming red hair. You are the most beautiful women I have ever laid eyes on. I asked the lady at Florish and Blotts who you were and she told me who you were and where you lived so now I can write letters to you all I want. Please come and see me I’m dying to get to know you. I live at the Riddle estate in the town of Hangleton. Please write me a letter back stating your answer.

Sincerely,

Tom

Hermione finnished the letter in shock. Could this man be Tom Riddle?. Could she have Voldermorts letters?.

Who was this woman? Did she ever see Tom? Hermione was so curious she read the next letter.

Dear, Tom

Stop making me blush so much! You make me sound like a princess when all I’m is a common witch like every other witch around the Wizarding World. I have to admit I’ve never heard of your name before but I looked it up in the Wizarding Locater and it said you lived in the muggle world. Don’t be ashamed I’m a muggle born myself and I do admit that I do miss the muggle world so very much, But the wizarding world is so much more exciting and adventurous then the muggle world. But sometimes you want to escape that excitement and go to somewhere mellow like the muggle world. Anyway, I can’t visit you because I live far away and plus well I guess it is not important to say because after all I do not know you at all and this news is something that is private to me and I won’t share it with someone I don’t know, but maybe someday I’ll tell you. For right now lets not share info about ourselves and just talk like friends.

Your friend,

Hermione read the name again and tried to figure it out but breaking codes was not really her strongest talent. Why would she use codes in the first place? Why couldn’t she just right her name down? questions and questions surrounded her mind but no answers. Hermione decided to write down notes on a piece of parchment so after she was down reading the letters she could try and figure out the puzzle by her notes. Hermione grabbed the next letter in anticipation and began to read.

Dear Friend,

Madame doesn’t friends share secrets? Then why not share your secret with me if you consider me a friend. If you are worried about telling someone your secret you don’t know then I can tell you who I am. I am a muggle born who desires not to return to my muggle orphanage. I went to Hogwarts my home the place where I could earn power and praise for no one not even my parents gave me a simple compliment. I enjoy academics especially Defense against the Dark arts I am extremely smart I in fact drove out the monster in the Chamber of Secrets out simply by true smartness. Lady do ye have enough information about me to tell me your heart?

Sincerely,

Tom

Ps, Lady why do you not write your name?

After Hermione finished reading the letter she wrote down on her parchment

Tom is Voldermort because Voldermort was the one who killed the monster in the chamber or so everyone thought.

Tom seems to want to date this mystery woman but why looks aren’t everything.
He doesn’t even know her that well

Bam! Hermione was so tired from all this letter reading that she fell asleep then and there right on Ginny’s hard desk with the letters in her hand.

By the way I was joking about being in the fifth grade just to see what people would say.

What Hermione didn't notice was the presense of a man lifting the letters.
