How many people are rereading any or all of the first 4 books preparing for next week:cool: :) ;)

Hmm, well, not rereading the whole series, but I did read POA and GOF a couple of weeks ago to refresh the memory (and also because I couldn't remember all the "little things" from POA) it also helped me discover some new things for the Questions thread

I would, but I don't own any of the books and I fear it might be a bit difficult to find them at the library right now because it seems just about everyone has decided to reread them.
Also, I should actually be studying for an exam, because I probably won't be able to concentrate on it after the 21st. :o

I'm rereading all of 'em! I read so fast its not a big deal to read all of them in a row like that. :D I'm probably going to start on book one sometime in the next few days.:)

Meant to be studing for History exam (cold war... blaahh...) but reading GoF is just so much more interesting! :o
I've only read PoA and first few chapters of GoF so far. It's difficult to bring GoF everywhere :p

Ha! I'm not the only one who thinks its next week that OotP comes out! :p ;) See Trout War thread if confused!

:) I've been planning on rereading them, but I'm busy this week so I'll probably start Saturday or Sunday. :)

Hee hee! :o :D I see I'm not alone.
I reread all four books about a week or two ago. (In order, back to back.) :)
I read them when I did because I wanted to reread them close enough to the release of OotP that the previous details would still be fresh. But I wanted enough of a gap that OotP would seem wonderfully new and I wouldn't feel at all tired of HP. (But that didn't happen anyway. As soon as I finished GoF, I wanted more.)

I reread them all a month or so ago, especially because, well, you all know what my memory is like ;)
It was the first time I reread them. And actually, the very first time I read them in the right order  in July 2000, when I found out about HP, I read 2, 3, 1 and 4 (I think...) so this time the story made MUCH more sense to me :p
Kristin, I started so early too, but because I thought it'd take me ages. Of course I was finished in less than a week :o but I had the same MORE POTTER MORE feeling at the end ;)

Ha! I beat you all! (sort of) I've been reading one or other since I first read them all in January. I started about a month and a half ago, intending to go in order. Got through PS/SS again, and stopped. I'm also in the middle of trying to read GoF in French. It's like trying to run up a cliff. And, hey, I've also had all the works of Austen AND Twain to work through, so cut me some slack!;)
But, as of half an hour ago, I am through with school, so should be able to resume CoS soon.
Soon, soon..........(pause)
We will be reading Book 5!!!!!WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!

I have just finished book four, I read them all in a row once again just to brush up. I did the exact same thing for book four when it came out:D <my proud face

I am reading GoF right now, and plan to be sitting on my front lawn on the 21st... finishing it up, patiently waiting for the mail man to deliver my copy of OotP... so I can start it right away!! hehe... I've reread the entire series once... and I've only been reading them since last Thanksgiving!

I've reread the series tons of times, I think its become a compulsive habit...not that im complaining...;)

Sigh. It's true. I admit it. I just finished GoF so I'd be up to the minute on the details when the next one comes out. Keep finding little plot holes and inconsistencies, but that's just pernickety and not worth mentioning.
And I'm still bloody jealous! :p But hey, it's a good read. :D And yeah, I'm really looking forward to the 21st...
Good to see you all again! It's been too long...

Never feel guilty for rereading books, especially Harry Potter. You aren't the only one :)
I just finished rereading them, back to back. Now I see I started too early. Cant wait for NO 5.:)

lizz, the solution to your problem of rereading them too soon is this; simply reread them back-to-back again

I'm rereading all the books (The excitement's brought be back here again :D) and now I have a million questions about what's going to happen. I'm at the beginning of PoA right now, but I think I'll be able to finish them all before Friday night. :)

A little late to post here, but I am! Really, really quick. I started Sunday, and I'm about halfway through the 3rd book.
RANT: No place in my town is staying open @ midnight so I can pick it (OotP) up!!

I thought of reading them again, but then I realized that I couldn't concentrate. Too excited for OoF!!!!
I don't read them in order anymore, anyways. I usually read them in my "Favorites" order: 3rd, 4th, 2nd, 1st.

I was going to read today, but got to excited, and ended up playing the Sims all day... :o
Must finish by 4pm tomorrow... That's when this blasted party starts....

I'm currently rereading the first book, and plan to read through the whole story this weekend, so I'll be ready for OoTP. I hope you guys don't mind me butting in so late over here :D ... but I'm so excited!

:D Join in whenever you want! It's fun having more posts to read... because of all the time differences, I'm hardly ever on when most of the other people are. ;)
I'm so excited that I'm crying...
Anyway, what really annoys me is how Britain and everyone east gets their book at the same time, then America has to wait 7-10 hours later. :p I don't see why east-coasters can't just go in at 5 PM tomorrow and get the book the same time the Brits and Aussies do.

Well, yes, but that's rugby union, not REAL football, which as we all know is Aussie Rules! ;)
Should've stuck with the split round thing, perhaps, then we would have had AFL this weekend!
Oh well! Go Wallabies! :D

LOL, Colli, I have semi-failed in my attempt to reread as well. :o I read all through TSS, CoS (though I skimmed some parts), all of PoA, and now I'm halfway through GoF (though I skipped most of the Quidditch World Cup). Normally, I would just read through everything, but I've had so much to do to get ready for this weekend its crazy! I've been packing and sewing for that week long event I'm going to, not to mention I went out of town for two days in the middle of the week. So now I'm going to stay up all night finishing this dern dress I'm making, and then I'm going to read my favorite bits of GoF whilst partying with the rest of the geeks at Barnes & Noble, waiting for midnight to roll around.:D
I AM SO FREAKIN' EXCITED GUYS!!!!!!
But also really nervous.....:( WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT???? OMG I'M GOING TO FIND OUT TOMORROW! WHEEEE!

I finally just realised what 'TSS' stands for - took me a while! I almost forgot that the book had a different title in other parts of the world...

:p Yeah, I'll be supporting the Wallabies for that game ( ) - England are the greater of the two evils in this case, especially after they beat us last weekend. ;)
And to stay on-topic, I'm going to read the last few chapters of Goblet of Fire tonight...

Well, yes, but that's rugby union, not REAL football, which as we all know is Aussie Rules! Oi, watch it Xaz! REAL football's the beautiful game, the original, the one that you play with your feet. ;) :p
And if you Aussies are now beating England at football it's only fair that the tables are turned in rugby. :) I finally just realised what 'TSS' stands for - took me a while! I almost forgot that the book had a different title in other parts of the world... As far as I'm concerned TSS stands for Toxic Shock Syndrome. I find SS a better abbreviation. :)

Thanks :D And I'm sure a few weeks ago will be ok. If you start to forget who that Ron Weasley guy is, maybe be a little concerned.

Ah and hour and a half, I can only imagine how pysched I'll be when it's that close here. People I know are going at 11-11:30, but the whole harry potter midnight bash starts at nine, they wont be able to get in. I'm worried its going to be over crowded, compared to when book four came out.

Chiana, not unless I drive an hour away. Which means I'm visiting you tonight and forgetting about work tomorrow!!....i mean, i wish....well, we would have had fun knocking over all the small yuppie children who simply wouldn't understand the literary importance of the great Harry. Gee, we didn't get so much as coffee/soda on the outside part of our line... my friends and I were joking with the kids in front of us about scattering the rest of the line by faking a Death Eater attack, but we realized we couldn't pull it off without some green cellophane :p and besides we'd make a pretty sad-looking bunch of attackers with me the most menacing of the lot :o (I at least had a black cloak, but as one of my friends noted I look too hobbitish to pass for any literary Forces of Evil).
ChianaWeasley
06-21-2003, 06:39 PM
We didn't have to stand in line, everyone just crowded around the store, there was a bunch of different things you could do till midnight came and went. Including being sorted into your house, I am proud to report I am a Ravenclaw :D And some of the activities were only for children which was very unfair I must say! But we brought our camera, snatched some Harry Potter glasses made of plastic, and got the lightning bolt painted onto our forheads. The next time we decided we will some how make capes....
Chiana+needle and thread=world wide devastation
;)
They eliminated the hassle of a line by giving us tickets with numbers we came in, they picked a ticket, started from that number and jumped around a bit, then went in order. To me that was far more straining than to stand in line. We sat on the floor one big group, in heated discussion over every deabte we could think of. I actually brought up some of the post discussions and mentioned some of your ideas and opinions.
Hated having to wait though:(
But I now have the book in my hands, taking a break actually, mom's making me really. Stayed up almost all night reading:)
Our three year wait is over......
So....whens the next book come out?
Amberion
06-21-2003, 11:01 PM
Waiting in line was not so hard (except the cold and the rain)
We stood and talked about Harry and Gandalf and Narnia and had a TV camera crew take clips for the news service
They were letting 10 people in to the stare at a time and it took about 40 minutes to get in.

I've been rereading my HP series again :D it's really the only series I'll read... last time I reread I reread the series backwards (that was before OotP was out) and now im rereading it the proper way (forwards of course) and hopefully I'll get my copy of OotP back before I get to that book:)

I have the books stacked next to my bed, and I'll just grab one and open to a random chapter and read a bit. Then it might put me in mind to read a specific scene/chapter, so I will. That's the wonderful thing -- I can read out of order, but I always know what's going on! :)
