Great find, t3h Qster!

Film-Ron is indeed getting very tall... just as in the books... and I have been wondering whether this is the films imitating the books or the other way round (in this particular case) :D

Good pictures! :D

Isn't Rupert Grint nearly 16 or something?

When the Knight Bus moves,it looks like it's going to topple over! I wonder if they've had any Knight Bus accidents...

Have any pictures of the blokes (I've fogotten who is playing them...) playing Remus and Sirius come through yet? I'm really anxious that they look perfect...

Elwen

There are pictures of most of the actors - but not yet in character.

For the actors look at imdb (http://uk.imdb.com/Title?0304141)

I think Gary Oldman is a great choice for Sirius. I could not find a picture for the guy who does Lupin (although he was in some fairly big movies).

Check out the guy who plays Pettigrew - that is such a funny choice ! :D

I'd like to see some pictures of Gary Oldman in costume, I really want to see how he turns out all done.

Wonderful how new pictures keep popping up, from whats been posted before.

Rupert is getting really tall, Im not sure on his age though. I do know Tom Felton is sixteen, exactly my age, older by only a few months. But with the others I could give you a start answer, with all the different ages posted online. And all the on and off filming, they could be 16 by now for all I know. So confusing

thats my new quest to find their ages....

I'll be back

Chiana returns

Ok, heres the scoop,I've braved the unknown
seen things you've never dreamed of!

Well...actually i went to the Official Rupert Grint site, looked under birthdays:D

ok:
Tom Felton
September 23, 1987 (16)

Rupert Grint
August 24, 1988 (15)

Daniel Radcliffe
July 03, 1989 (14)

Emma Watson
April 15, 1990 (13)

And there you have it my friends!

Ooh thanks :) Ton Felton shares a birthday with my dad!

That list is wrong those, I turned 16 in February, and it says Ton Felton's birthday is on the 23rd September 1987... Soo...

Tough year ahead for Rupert and Tom!

Gary Oldman, he's growing on me... But David Thewlis... Mmm, he doesn't look, Remus enough..... *sigh*

Brilliant, i havent seen any of those yet!!!
Mirdan your wonderful!:)

Haven't any of you seen Dragon Heart, of Island of Dr. Moreau(the second version) Thewlis was in them. I think he's a rather good villian, it will be interesting to see him play a good guy for once.

Fleurdelacour
07-04-2003, 10:19 PM
First decent picture of Thelwis! Wow!

Still doesn't look Remus enough.... No matter what angle I look at him from....

Those houses... They're so un-Dursleyish. First time buyers wanting a house in the suburbs buy those houses... They're the new ones Barrats Homes have very recently made... Very odd....

ChianaWeasley
07-05-2003, 10:50 AM
I'd hate to live in a block full of houses looking exactly the same, I'd forget which house was mine. I'd come home after school, knocking on my neighbors door, just to see if it was the right house:D

Fleurdelacour
07-05-2003, 12:07 PM
lol! I live in a terraced house, so they're all the same, ish over the lat 70 years they've kinda changed ;) but JKR said the house the Dursleys live in were 1930s style... Which is worrying as my house was built in the 1930s! Not Dursleyish on the inside thank god....

I've just found a site, and I was supporting Ralph Fiennes to play Sirius, but after finding this site, I wish he had played Remus! :(

http://straykitty.com/deargirl/potter/shrines/RemusPic2.jpg

:jawdrop:

EXACTLY how I imagine him, exept his eyes are smaller then the way I imagine him... But still....

Ain't it cool news has a picture of what could be the Dementors from POA. They look pretty good, but you really shouldn't be able to see the faces (although if this is real it's probably not from the movie) and their skin doesn't look scabby enough. And the "eyes" look too much like eyes... that said, this probably is fake, because the second Dementor look an awful lot like a Ringwraith from FOTR...

Anyway, here it is (originally from the snitch.co.uk, found on AICN)
http://www.thesnitch.co.uk/galleries/POA/Movie%20Images//Possible%20first%20look%20at%20dementors.jpg

 well check out what the guys at TORn (http://www.theonering.net/scrapbook/view/7105) found about these so-called Dementors:

http://img-nex.theonering.net/images/scrapbook/7105.jpg

A supposed authentic report featured the image on the left claiming to be Dementors from the latest Harry Potter films. A little digging brings up the image of the Nazgul on the right...notice the similarities? This is a false image, 'Photoshopped' is the term.
i don't even know whether to breath a sigh of relief or what!

Pilgrim Grey
07-11-2003, 09:22 AM
Yeah, I kinda knew that the pic was fake (it looked WAY too much like a Nazgul to be a coincidence) but I thought I'd post it anyway... and you have to wonder who would bother making a picture like this and pretending it's the real thing? Don't people have anything better to do with their time  :(

Colli
07-11-2003, 12:58 PM
Actually, I saw that Dementor picture when it first surfaced on one of the Harry Potter fansites, and it came WITH a disclaimer that it was fan art. :)

ChianaWeasley
07-11-2003, 11:23 PM
Warner Brothers is going to have a hard time making the dementors look realistic to what we see them as, and completely different from wraiths at the same time

Very trickseyy it isss

so, that's how Gary Oldman as Sirius Black looks like? i always thought Sirius would be...well...taller, darker-haired, and really gaunt (actually i thought Daniel Day Lewis would've been a great Sirius Black...) but then again, it could just be the light conditions and that Gary Oldman/Sirius Black is smiling in this Muggle picture, which almost makes him look...normal. and healthy :D

is Rupert Grint wearing a Weasley jumper!? it's maroon! and it looks small on him too.

anyways, back to Gary Oldman. so Sirius Black has tattoos, eh? well! that just goes to show that Sirius Black really was Stubby Boardman! rock 'n roll lifestyle!

Pilgrim Grey

A word of advice: Don't judge based on this picture. Apparently, that is why Warner Bros. objects to it -- because people are making judgments when they don't know how the finished product will look.

I mean, you can judge ... just don't take it too seriously, don't get all freaked out. I agree that Gary Oldman looks wrong. I hope that it ends up looking OK, though.

OK, I found this in a journal entry on LiveJournal (no links to that I know) and I thought it might be a little Sunday afternoon present. (Trout me if I do something wrong, Colli;))

I must say... I think these kids are totally adorable... I mean... so cute! I'm totally in love with this picture!!

Colli
07-28-2003, 12:40 AM
Is it just me or does that not really look like a picture from Harry Potter? I mean, the street clothes, the cute little belt Emma has on.

They COULD be rehearsing, but the pic looks professional. And if they were rehearsing, why would Daniel have his Harry glasses on? It doesn't add up.

And why does that look like water behind them? Or is it just fog?

Faid
07-28-2003, 06:35 AM
It looks like cobwebs are behind them to me.

Plus the normal clothes are rather weird to see on them since I don't recall ever seeing Hermione wearing anything but Hogwarts garb. Perhaps that scene takes place before they go to Hogwarts?

Oh and Harry's clothes look designer... whereas there is no way the Dursely's would buy that for him.

The more and more you think about it... and everyone knows I have... I think it's a rehersal picture. There are two other pics that go with that one... and it went with an article about the kids working on the set... I will have to dig that up and post it too :D It's probably just a rehersal pic... unless... unless they've changed something and the kids don't wear their robes to Hogsmeade... they wear street clothes or something... I'm thinking way to deeply into this!

glaelia
07-28-2003, 02:59 PM
the theory is that thats a pic from the film just after the shrieking shack scenes. Ie, when harry and hermione are hiding in the forest with the time turner, waiting for their oppotunity to save sirius! the idea being, harry's protecting hermione from lupin as he runs into the forest in wolf form... remember your books! :p

anyway, the reasoning behind them being in street clothes? again, remember your books! harry, hermione and ron had finished school by the time of the shrieking shack scenes, it was the end of term, ie they probably wouldn't be in robes anymore. remember in the first movie? the scenes at the end? The chess set? all the kids were in street clothes cos school term was over!

[/my two cents worth]

But Faid's right, glae, why on earth would Harry be wearing clothes that nice?

glaelia
07-28-2003, 03:16 PM
*shrugs* he had decent clothes on at the end of PS and COS... he only had baggy clothes on at the beginning of PS... if you're going to be picky, i've always wondered why ron was wearing a barbour coat on the hogwarts express in PS... teheheh, they cost about £200... i should know, i have one... not something the weasleys would wear, right? though i can see where they were coming from with that, cos most people who live/work in the countryside in this country own barbours, cos they're wax jackets and they keep <i>everything</i> out! even the Queen owns one! but thats my point really... they're expensive... the Weasleys wouldn't own one *nods*

they need a better costume designer who knows these things *nods* like me!!

Maybe Harry bought himself some nice clothes at Diagon Alley? I'm not sure what kind of 'normal' clothes wizards wear, but he can certainly afford clothes that would fit him with his inherited gold. His watch broke during the second task in GoF and he has a new watch in OotP that he must have bought for himself somewhere, certainly not with Muggle money.

Just a thought :)

I do love the picture, though. It's my computer wallpaper.

Now, this is just a suggestion, but I think it would be a lot easier for everyone if we just posted everything (pictures, news, whatever) in one thread. We're getting a lot of overlapping going on, where someone posts something in the news thread, then someone posts it here. Or someone posts it here, then someone posts it in the news thread.

So what do you think. Should we all go to one thread, stay in the two, or should I make a new thread that's for everything?

Well, I don't know... I never imagined Lupin like this, but I think I get the point - this must be Lupin trying to look as respectrable and 'normal' (if you know what I mean) as he possibly can.

(tweed jacket, tie.... seems that they are going for more mugglish clothes this time round).

Black looks completely wild but perhaps we see him clean up a bit as he settles down for a few short months in OotP (if that gets made).

Don't worry so much! Please. Understand, pictures are, no matter what anyone says, very much worthless when it comes to telling what a person will look at act like. They capture one moment in time, for all we know, he could have just been thrown onto the ground, messing up his hair, and giving him a weird look on his face.

Or he could just suck. Movies aren't always great, we have to realize that before we get too disappointed.

He doesn't look friendly enough... His hair isn't long enough, and it says he has LIGHT brown, greying hair... I just hope it's the light... He looks kinda twitchy too...

I like Oldman's expression, he looks desperate to get his hands on Scabbers, that's a good thing I guess...

Ralph Fiennes would have been better, as either Remus or Sirius...

LuthienElentari

Even though they are going to change cast. I think it will be hard for them to do the ron/hermione thing because Daniel and Emma have more chemistry then Rupert which I think would be hard to make it work. But, maybe if they cahnge the cast the new Hermione might have better chemistry with the new Ron. I hear that Mike Newel (or however you spell his his name) wants to do the fourth movie.

With regards to the picture at the top of this page:

It is a scene from the film and not a rehersal because if you look at the photos of Harry with his trunk just before getting on the knight bus on the first page of this thread you can see he is clearly wearing the same clothes.

(They may be designer, but they appear to be all he has got!):D

Some new pictures appeared in a London paper today (evening standard). However i do not have a scanner to up load them but i will say what they showed.

1. A big pic of hermione (wearing "trendy" clothes with her wand pointed at malfoy who has his back up against a tree flanked by Crabbe and Goyle. I do have a bad memory but i really do not remember that scene happening in the books.

2. ...the other pictures were small and not that interesting to honest.

Although i did get that gist from the accompanying artcile that uniforms would not be worn at hogwarts in PoA...

and i forgot! it also says Dimbledore will be played as a bit of a hippy..!?!

My sis saw those pics last night and she said Daniel looked 'girly'. Well-groomed and slightly stylish is *not* girly.

Anyway, I think they're all great looking, even Sirius. Oldman may be different than I imagined, but he's every bit as grungy and I think it will work well on film.:D

Only strange thing is about the first picture, Hermione looks way too passive. That's not the Hermione we know from the books.

I used to have a belt like hers when I was a kid. It had a Rainbow Brite buckle.:D

edit: About uniforms: There is a picture floating around with Draco, Crabbe and Goyle wearing the uniforms from PoA, which have been changed some from the previous movies. I'll see if I can't find it. Also have seen one of the new Hogwart's Express.

Okay, found the pictures of the uniforms:
PoA uniforms (http://www.geocities.com/lithorose/uniforms.txt)

and for comparison:
CoS uniforms (http://www.geocities.com/lithorose/uniforms2.txt)

Though from those new pictures, perhaps they only dress up for certain occasions? Come to think of it, all the pictures of the students out of uniform are all outside of Hogwarts anyway. Perhaps the one with McGonagall is them preparing to go to Hogsmeade?

Didn't any of you guys read the captions on those pics before? One of them said that the new director is letting the kids wear some of their own cloths. That's why they look so "hip". This just might be a sign of other things the new director leaves out/adds.

think you this is the scene where Hermione was suppose to slap Draco? i sure hope not. but then again, the kid on Draco's right hand side doesn't look like Crabbe (or was it Goyle? i can never tell the difference between those two!)

Though from those new pictures, perhaps they only dress up for certain occasions? Come to think of it, all the pictures of the students out of uniform are all outside of Hogwarts anyway. Perhaps the one with McGonagall is them preparing to go to Hogsmeade?
maybe the students only dress in their uniforms when school is in session, but they get to wear whatever they want after school's out and/or during Hogsmeade weekends and such. and that's probably why Draco's hair isn't sleek in these pictures ;)

i actually like how the kids get to wear contemporary clothes. i'd rather see that than have Harry, Ron, and Hermione run around the Shrieking Shack in their uniforms. i think it works very well, since that incident in the Shrieking Shack happened after exams...didn't it? i'd expect the students would change out of their uniforms as soon as they're done with school work. besides, their clothes reflect the younger generation that Harry, Ron, Hermione, and the rest of the kids belong to.

by the way, the only difference that i've spotted with the uniforms in PoA is that the ties look different from the ones in CoS. is that it, or are there other differences that i've missed?! :o

Fleurdelacour

He said that did he Cedric?! OH GOD! Those kids are rich, they're going to have rich clothes! Hermione doesn't wear rainbow belts and jeans, she's Hermione Granger - the brains, and the-I-have-pmt-in-this-book-so- I-will-walk-out-on-Trewlawny-and-slap-Draco.

It says in PoA that Hermione clutches her robes when Pettigrew is begging her to save his life. they're wearing their uniforms... and if my mental image of the shrieking shack scenes are ruined (which are perfect... best scenes on the entire series!) then... oh god...

From The Sun
Our amazing stills from the movie show Harry and pals Hermione and Ron adopting a different look as new director Alfonso Cuaron boots out the blazers for a more casual style.

HOGWARTS DOESNT DO CASUAL!!! in fact, what school in britian does casual?!

Gah!!!

Oh my god!! The Slytherin ties! they - they are identicle to my old secondary school ties!! *breathes* this is all wrong...

Oh another thing, I was reading a tonne of newspapers the other day, and they all had pics from the movie in it, but in one of them, it said PoA was coming out in late autumn... are they confused? or has the date been changed... i mean late autumn.... honestly...

Fleurdelacour

I'm so glad someone shares my sentiments! And the uniforms were wrong in the first place! They wore robes, not the grey primary school uniforms... every school I can think of has maroon, navy, green, brown and blue uniforms, none of them have grey uniforms unless you count those on soaps... Pah....

Don't even get me started on HIM... Honestly.. that picture... he looked threatening, Remus is never threating, only when he wanted to kill Wormtail, but I'm sure, after what he did... Anyone would want to kill him... Well, apart from Harry...

Thewlis never looked right in the first place, he was meant to be the "I'm a werewolf in need of a hug!" bloke... not that...

Must stop ranting... My favourite book of all time could be ruined.... *whimpers*

Breathe Fleur!

I don't think PoA is coming out in late autumn. In the Newsweek article that recently came out, it clearly states that the release date will be June 4, 2004.

The Newsweek article also states that Cuaron only plans on directing PoA and nothing beyond that. So if you're not happy with some of his changes, you may be relieved to hear that. Chris Columbus is also signed on as producer, 'and he makes no bones about the fact that he's doing it to ''protect'' the Potter world he adores.' Preserving the tradition of wearing uniforms at Hogwarts must certainly be important to Columbus, and Rowling for that matter.

But as for outside school or on the weekends, I don't think it matters if the kids wear uniforms or not. It does not affect the plot whatsoever, nor does it change anything about the characters thmeselves. In the CoS film, Harry and Ron aren't wearing uniforms when they go to 'follow the spiders' and I thought they looked rather cute, especially Harry's zip-up hoodie. :)

I personally think the PoA uniforms look, er, uniformy enough for me. I'm really excited for the new director as well, as he really seems to get the psychological aspects of the story. Newsweek again: 'Cuaron's design team promises that the movie's palette will reflect the gathering darkness.' Based on what I've gathered from this particular article, I'm glad he's taking a dark approach and really developing the emotional side of the story and not just playing up the angst and action.

EDIT: HOGWARTS DOESNT DO CASUAL!!!
I know... I still want them to look their poshiest best too. :(

I don't see that happening Driz, fans always pick apart movies like this.

The one thing you guys have to remember is that this isn't the true vision of the book. The book can still be the best, it can still be the wonderful story that it always was. Don't let this idiot change your mind about that. Just because he gets things wrong doesn't mean you have to give in to his view of it, keep your own.

This is gonna be like a batman movie, different directors for almost every one of them... We're sure to get some strange adaptations.

Well, Hogwarts does do casual, but it was more geared towards Weasley sweaters and jeans. And t-shirts underneath the cloak. But the picture of Hermione is definatley not what I imagined. The top picture that Monk posted of them leaving for Hogsmeade, what Ron's wearing is what I imagined.

Oh and they do casual, in SS their wearing day clothes. And hermione's outfit in that was much better. More Hermioneish.
Ron looks just right though, nice and tall, and red haired :D

But I rather like Harry and Ron's casual wear.
Why is it that the Weasley wear can make a girl melt?
Must be the maroon Weasley sweater...
the red hair helps too:p

And they are calming Hermione's wild hair too early!
It's never quite bushy enough, and now they start to push the growing out smoother thing.

I agree with you Drizella. I didn't like the fact that in the first two films there was more action and suspense then emotion. You couldn't tell what they were feeling and what struggles they personally were going through. When I saw COS's deleted scenes you could kinda get a picture about what Harry was going through. But in the actual movie there was noting that hinted that Harry was going through this hard time trying to figure out if he was really the heir of slytherin. Thats just my feeling:D

Some interesting things I found at the LC.

This picture (http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/images/2003/08/PoAHiResCuaronWatson.jpg), they say, shows "Hermione" wearing the necklace that holds the time turner... The thing must be tiny. Never seen this (http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/MTarchives/dprophet.html) picture (think it might be a close-up or something). It's a picture of the Prophet, says something about Egypt. The third (http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/MTarchives/wantedposter.html) one is a pic of a green screen that'll be turned into a moving wizard later on. The patronus looks just as I imagined. Maybe the dementors' faces are visable from the light reflecting off of it?

But really, if their faces didn't show, they'd look a little too Ringwraithy. They're terrifying nonetheless. If this film is done right, it will be rated PG-13 in the States!

Well there is someone's name watermarked into the bottom right, and that Ringwraith D'I mean DEMENTOR on the right looks very familiar.... ;)

It's the same ringwraith used in the other fanart thing, speaking of which, a Singaporean magazine that Nilmandra sent me actually has that original fanart of the dementors, but is passing it off as an official pic from the movie!!!

I think that comparison made by the TORN people clearly shows that the dementor on the right is a direct photoshop paste of one of the ringwraiths off the LOTR art.

And yeah, now that you mention it, that would be my only negative comment on the Patronus. I think the shape and the color of the stag in the fanart are accurate, it's just a bit too solid. To me a Patronus should be blurrier around the edges and more ghostly in appearance.

I've actualy just realised what that picture is actually of... Ron, Hermione and Harry emerging from the Shreiking Shack when Buckbeak is going to be 'executed'... Or was that obvious already? Yeah, it was posted before...

The Parisians are trying to steal back the art centre crown, it was on a art documantry the other day! :p

ChianaWeasley
10-05-2003, 11:03 AM
It couldn't have been them sneaking out when 'Bucky' was going to be executed, it was nighttime in the book. and in the photograph it's daytime, and they're not in their robes. So it has to be when they're in Hogsmeade.

Oh...I love the color maroon :o

Fleurdelacour
10-05-2003, 02:01 PM
Buckbeak was going to be executed at sunset. Nightfall only came when they all left the Shrieking Shack...

lithorose
10-05-2003, 03:50 PM
I don't think it's them leaving the Shrieking Shack, since that was after dark and they came back through the tunnel (That reminds me, I can't wait to see Snape's head bumping against the ceiling on the way out.:D). Nor is it Hogsmeade, since there's no sign of the invisibility cloak.

I think it's them leaving Hagrid's after just finding Scabbers. It was twilight in the book, and the door looks kinda like Hagrid's hut. Plus the doorknob is really high.

Cool new pics, Alqua!!!

The “fountain court” is definitely a new set, isn’t it? I wonder what the significance of it is. Or did they just nick it from LOTR?

And what’s Dumbledore doing there, holding a sermon?

Does anyone else think the colouring of the new uniforms is a little off, somehow? Maybe it’s the Gryffindor red, it’s too purple somehow, too much of a bluish tinge….

And Hermione is WAY too beautiful. She already was in PS and CoS as well, but it’s getting WORSE.

by Fleur
Second one looks like Shrieking Shack, although Ron doesnt look like he's in much pain regarding his leg... Hm, maybe his leg isn’t broken after all, maybe they thought that would have been a little over-dramatic (I always thought it was).

Harry and Hermoine's hair both annoy me with their non-canon-ness (go the made-up compound words!) Harry's is fine with me now, but talking of un-canonical hair, what happened to Draco’s? OK maybe it’s not inconsistent with the book but does anyone else think the new style of it looks pretty stupid? Or is that what 13 year olds consider the height of cool these days?

And what about Sirius’s in the Azkaban pic? I doubt Xyla minds the non-canon-ness in that case (:p), but does anyone agree it looks way too clean and beautiful for 12 years in that cell? Maybe he’s somehow got behind Legolas’ impeccable-hair-no-matter-what-happens-secret, but still…

At least Azkaban looks sufficiently scary.

Sirius looks really dodgy... :( Did anyone see Gary Oldman on Graham Norton on Wednesday? It was his first time on a chat show (so he went on Graham Norton ;) ) and it was soo surreal someone talking about being Sirius, and the audience (though very adult :p ) loved Sirius! They were cheering when he said who he was playing. :)

His leg cracked on the roots of the Whomping Willow though... (oh I hope they leave that in so all my friends can squirm :p )

When are we going to get one of Remus up-close though? If he's got a 'tash...

by Chiana
Well in regard to Ron's leg, I'm pretty sure it broke in the book. Yes, I know it did, I meant I always found that a little melodramatic in the book, too. I'm all for absolute canon-ness but I won't miss that particular detail if it's not in the movie.

Talking of canon-ness, that pic with Snape "protecting the trio from the werewolf".... that must be after they get back out of the Whomping Willow - and apparently Snape is awake. That isn't canon. And it's also strange because it means Snape actually witnesses Peter Pettigrew's escape, which he doesn't in the book. Does it mean he will tell Dumbledore and the Minister an outright LIE when he tells them his version of the events later on? (That Sirius is the guilty one and that there was no Pettigrew anywhere near the Shrieking Shack that night.) And does it also mean that we won't see him getting his head bumped against the ceiling of the secret passage? What a shame. :p

What's Sirius doing on that "Wanted" poster, laughing?

Colli, I'm pretty sure that that's Hogwarts in the background, not Hogsmeade. See the tower and the great hall?

Xyla

I figured Sirius was supposed to be growling or shrieking like a mad-man... you know usual propaganda to make him seem like a scary maniac :p
He looks a little silly, but considering its a moving poster, maybe it's just an odd moment they've caught there.

Maybe Snape is unconscious, and Pettigrew escapes and then Snape wakes up to see Sirius battling with Lupin, and he's sort of protecting the kids, and then Lupin runs into the forest.. and.. then he sees Sirius run off and he thinks Sirius is just escaping... and Harry runs off after Sirius, and SNape follows them but sees the dementors and he stays back until the dementors are chased off by Harry's patronus, whence he takes the others up to the castle blah blah blah...

??? :D???

My visions of Sirius and Remus are slipping away slowly... Don't say that, Fleur. They'll always be there in your mind, your perfect Lupin and your perfect Sirius. Who plays Big Mo in Eastenders (I used to watch eastenders...) which is bad, because I do not want to be thinking of her when I'm watching him battle for his innocence and hugging Remus... :o

Remus still looks like Hitler... I even showed my mum who only knows about Harry Potter through my talking about it for the last few years, she saw it and asked if that was Crouch!

Pippin tries, and fails completely, to picture Snapdragon's youngest son doing Malfoy impressions. :D

Does it make the girls at school swoon for him or why does he do that? ;)

Speaking of target audiences, I see how the movies are still aimed mainly at a young audience, but have the movie makers actually taken into consideration that LOTS of the HP characters have a maginificent swooning potential, and that there are hundreds of thousands of girls and women out there who would practically die for a swoony Sirius and a swoony Lupin? I can't believe they didn't realise that - and if they did, I can't believe how they let that go to waste with Lupin. :(

Sirius, well I can see where they're coming from but he just looks too old but Lupin, oh my God, are they crazy?!!!!! He seriously looks like one of my old art teachers!!! You could never imagine this guy as a Marauder could you?! He looks as if he were born to a long line of [inbred] librarians (with a lishgtly scary darker side to them). I'm a huge Sirius/Remus fan but these guys would never get it together *shudders*. Doesn't anyone else think that all Snape, Lupin and Sirius look way too old? I mean these guys are meant to mid-30s and they all look to be pushing 50 :( Yeah, so they've had hard lives and yadda yadda, but seriously, c'mon ...

Yeah...

After looking at it again, it's obvious it was taken a while ago. I mean, a WHILE ago. Rupert Grint looks so much older and more mature now. Looks like that pic was taken before or during CoS. Oh, and that chick still gives me the collywobbles.

Yeah, look at Rupert. He's so cute! But he looks strikingly young there, which is weird because last year he was looking older. Now, he's just plain gorgeous.... think I can have him for Christmas? :swoon:

I'm sorry sir but as Snape's agent/attourney/body-guard I cannot allow this kidnapping to take place until permission from Snape himself is given. I think you'd be wise in getting Neville's boggart OUT of the "Snape!" thread before an increased ammount of mayhem occurs. If you wish to kidnap Snape himself, please let me know and I'll ask Snape his opinion on the matter.

Thanks,

I still hate the DemonicGreyhound!Lupin
I thought werewolves were supposed to look a lot like REAL wolves.
Otherwise what would be the point of learning the identifiers of the werewolf, like "shorter snout" etc. etc.
You could just say "Well, one looks like a wolf, and the other looks like a demonic greyhound".

Victory- Victory in the realationship
Valentine- Valentine's Day= Love. Get it?
Vicktor Krum- A sign????
Velemints (a type of mint)- Possibly used for a first "kiss"

I have no mixed feelings about the film actually. The new trailer convinced me that this film is going to be good. you're absolutely correct Luthien.
Where is our cute short haired Ron.
And what happened to Neville?
He's growing up, and he looks so different...
it's really weird to watch these kids grow up.
It's like coming back to school after the summer,
to see all of my friends have grown another five inches

Y'know, despite my crazy critisisms of the films, I've never critisised Rupert Grint's Ron! :)

I always thought the twins were a bit to passive in the films... Maybe the hair is trying to make them look funny... So they'll act funnier... I don't know.... I just want to get a scissors and yank it all off!

Wait a second... The twins have a terrifying resembelance to...

London gangster? Sounds rathy raspy and mysterious to me, not too bad of a transition I'd say.

Seeing them grow up is rather unique, I wonder how much they'll have changed for GoF. I cannot wait to see the fight scene between ron and Hermione!

East london ganster being cockney, not so sexy, fat and bald... Though that contradicts the hair thing... I guess I'm just comparing them to my male cockney friends :p Haha...Now that'd be funny...

I'll shut up now....

Oh Chiana!! I can't wait for that too! :D If they leave it out I'll scream!!

If they leave out these two bits in PoA I'll blub my eyes out...

* When Remus and Sirius hug for the first time in twelve years.... :(

* And the little shouting speech Sirius gives "THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE DIED! DIED RATHER THEN BETRAY YOUR FRIENDS! AS WE WOULD HAVE DONE FOR YOU!"

I have that perfect in my mind... The voice sounds like Legolas shouting though... Should be huskier and rasping... If they leave it out, or let Oldman ruin it... I'll cry...

ChianaWeasley
05-14-2004, 04:33 PM
Bald fat man?
Cockney accents aren't so bad, but I cannot stand the other part. Perhaps you're right, not even the least bit sexy makes a gagging expression

The whole scene in the shrieking shack has to be absolutely amazing, and I know Gary Oldman can pull it off. No worries there.

I've seen pictures of Peter Pettigrew, and its exactly what I've always seen in my head. Despicable little wanker.

A very established actor from the looks of it, but he's more independant films I'd say.

I suppose that's good lol I never really had a clear picture in my mind of Cho... A blubbering wreck of a girl maybe!

Ah yes that's it Timothy Spall.... I bet after the film he'll be in the newsagents again and I'll get freaked out because I'm in the same room as Peter Pettigrew :p I have to keep a lookout because Linda Barker lives around here too... I could do the nation a favour and kill her...

I've always seen Cho chang as this untouchable, Catholic school girl. The model of Harry's version of perfection, ousted onto his pedestal  boys....

But this girl looks like she'll fit the part, but she has to be able to bring out the tears on command. Cho Chang=blubbering school girl. If she gets that she'll do fine :p

The relevant part:David Thewlis is not how I imagined Lupin, nor is Gary Oldman as Sirius: I think a lot of people feel this way, at least about the way they look. However, they are actors, and act they can. They're perfect.

I got excited again today....

I saw Sirius on the bus again :p I just burst out "Sirius is on the bus!" and then has I left the bakery this morning there was a hologramic poster on a billboard! It moved! It was Buckbeak with Harry and Hermione just sort of there... And I had a bit of a hyper moment before my big english exam... Reading outload bits from PoA to my friends (only one likes HP) and getting a bit to emotional "Bastardly Pettigrew... Oh Remus!! Look this is my favourite bit..."

I get a bit to excited and emotional for a seventeen year old... And then Friends ends on Friday.... Emotional wreck I will be...

I need to shut up...

I read a review of PoA in the newspaper, fantastic review, mentions puberty and it being a thunderstorm most of the time... No mention of Remus at all... Maybe they're so appaled or were blinded by the moustache...

I was supposed to be studying for my Honors Global final today in class, but of course, instead I was conversing excited with my friend about PoA being in I-Max theatres.

Then there are the few of my friends who do enjoy HP books, but they just dont quite get my excitement for them. I think perhaps someday, when they are sitting somewhere just thinking, they'll realize......"Ohmigoodness! I understand her now!"

Of course the likeliness of such a scenario is absurd, but I like to imagine my friends having epiphanys including me. ;)
