We all feel sorry for Remus because he was the last marauder and he lost all his pals... but we dont have a board for Harry, I think he deserves a bit too losing Sirius and all:( I was quite sad when he found out he had the mirror all along. So I think we all need to give Harry some credit with putting up with all this too:

anyone agree with me?

I agree, the mirror thing got to me so badly.:(
God I wish I could stop being so upset.
I love Harry, I wish he didn't have to come to his own so painfully.... Losing Sirius, his father/brother figure, "losing faith" so to speak in his father and Dumbledore.....:(

Yes, Harry has been through quite a bit, even more so in OOTP. I think JKR has been inspired by books like "David Copperfield" or other Dickens novels, where the young charge is followed through a terrible childhood to young adulthood, where he finally learns what all the sacrifices were for and comes into his own as a man. I'm very tired of seeing him so beaten down all the time. I hope Dumbledore keeps his promise and stops keeping secrets from him. I think Harry's earned the truth by now!

Poor Harry. I've been feeling really sorry for him lately. :(
And although Remus has been getting lots of hugs in his thread, Harry's been a bit ignored.
So here are some hugs for Harry:
Poor guy, he's all on his own. Sure, he was on his own before he met Sirius, but he didn't have to cope with that loss before.
Harry has lots of people who care about him, but he doesn't "belong" to them, and they don't "belong" to him. The Weasleys, for example, care about Harry, but Harry is still an intruder on their grief when Arthur is attacked.
Lupin, Tonks and Moody care about Harry to an extent, but they can never be what Sirius was.
Harry might find love in his future, but it will be a long time before the kind of loving relationship he needs.
I know some people get rather annoyed at Harry's tantrums, but I think I'd be rather volatile, too, if I had all that bad stuff happen to me.
I can't wait to see book 6. I want to find out how Harry's doing.

I can't wait to see how his OWL's do
but mostly i kind of mad at him for being weak and not controlling himself and thus learning Occlumency
maybe in a few years once we know when the next book comes out i will
Wouldn't it be funny if Rowlings has already finished like 2/3 of the 6 book? and she just had the 5 one delayed so she could spring this out on us in like 2 months?

I do feel bad(ly?) for Harry, but I always felt Remus was the adult he connected with the best, so I guess I think he will end up with the best guardian possible (the Weasleys are just too busy with their own brood, IMHO, to give Harry all the emotional attachment he needs).

My dear Lord Schaudt,
Trust me, your assumption is not the case. Rowling's manuscript was thrown into production at high velocity the instant she finished it, because publishers have no wish to sit on a gold mine. It took a few months to get to print solely because they had to fell half an Amazonian rainforest to get that much paper together all at once.
Believe me, I speak from the heart here, the instant Ms. Rowling finishes book 6 it will be hurried into print - but even for her, it is virtually impossible to get a book into the stores in much less than 3 months.
As for Harry being weak re: occlumency - ya know, I'm willing to cut him some slack here! ;)
As for the Weasleys being too busy - I think Mrs. Weasley would take Harry in as a son in a heartbeat, in fact I think she sees him as just that, but he is not willing to let her do so just at the moment. It would probably hurt too much. :(
Poor Harry. I mean, ok, at various points in OotP I was desperately wanting to :trout: him - but he's doing pretty darn well under the circumstances. I say let's send him some butter:beer: and drink his health, while he still has it! ;) :D

The other thing that has saddened me about Harry lately is how important people in his life keep confusing him with his father (whom he doesn't even remember). Snape detests him because he looks like his father and Sirius wants to have adventures with him because of his resemblence to James. Neither connects with Harry as his own person. (Unfortunately Sirius will never learn who Harry is.) It must be difficult for him to live in the shadow of his father. (I know my own boy gets tired of hearing how much he looks like his dad.) Lupin does seem sensitive enough to understand that Harry is different than James. Dumbledore too.
[O/T]Butterbeer. Is there any alcohol in it? I wondered when I read that Winky becomes drunk on it, but then house elves may have a different reaction. I thought it was similar to butterscotch (which sounds pretty disgusting too, but then again so does pumpkin juice). :barf: [/O/T]

i wonder what kind of man he will become.
i knew what kind of teenager he'd become... i mean, all teenage boys are pretty much the same when you get down to it, but with all thats happened in his past its an intriguing question.
as the saying goes "what doesnt kill you can only make you stronger", but it may not be the case. what hasn't killed harry (yet) may turn him into a confused, impatient, insensitive and generally nasty young man rather than making him stronger.
 for harry, for the boy he was, for the man he must now become.

I have a feeling its just like Adults can take alcohol, but if you gave it to a baby, it wouldn't live much longer... I don't think butterbeer has alcohol in it, it's just really strong to a house-elf...

I think when anyone who sells Butterbeer in Hogsmeade sees kids ordering it, they cut it with water. ;)

I was fifteen once, and even without dead relatives, dark lords or conspiracies among my friends, I managed to be pretty turbulent. Adolescence is a rough time even with a sound family structure and a safe environment; Harry has some good influences in his life, but he's lost his family and there's an evil cabal trying to kill him. It won't be easy for him to have the kind of normal, healthy growing experiences that ease the transition to adulthood while the Second War is raging. Young people pressed into adversity tend to either grow up quickly or fail to develop in some respects. We all believe Harry will rise to the occasion, of course.
The other thing that has saddened me about Harry lately is how important people in his life keep confusing him with his father (whom he doesn't even remember). I actually think it's good that Harry saw James doing something he'd never do. Out of a desire to reconnect with the father he never knew, he's been allowing, even encouraging people to treat him as some reincarnation of James. They aren't going to treat him as Harry unless he starts asserting himself as Harry. Now, at last, he doesn't want to be exactly like Dad.
