Lupin looked up from his book; the young woman's eyes were still fixed upon him, although they were now grey.
"May I help you, Tonks?"
The Auror blinked diffidently and carefully set her features. "I'm simply carrying out my assigned mission profile: surveillance of werewolf activity in the greater London area. Constant Vigilance and all that, you know..." -Marchwarden, Remus Hugging Thread
Marchwarden posted this in the Remus Hugging Thread, and everyone there wanted her to go on with it. Instead, she suggested I stick it up here and start a Round Robin. So, off we go!

Remus smiled softly and went back to his reading. Tonks let out an exasperated sigh and sat down beside him, pulling a plate of toast towards her. Without looking up, Remus pushed the butter her way. "Thanks," she said.
"No problem," he replied. Moments passed while Tonks quietly ate her toast and Remus read his book. Suddenly he stood and started leaving the room.
Tonks swallowed and said, "Where are you going?"
"I have business to attend to," he said, turning back with a smile. Tonks nodded and continued to eat. As Remus was walking out the door he turned back to her. "Blue," he said.
"What?" she said, looking up again.
"I like your eyes when they are blue," Remus said smiling, then walked out the door.

Tonks grinned after him. Suddenly, a thought came to her, and she ran after him.
He was about to Disapparate when she tapped him on the shoulder.
"Yes?"
"How do you like my hair?" she asked breathlessly, looking up into his eyes.
"That, Nymphadora, remains to be seen," he replied, smiling slightly, before Disapparating.
She stared at the place where he had been moments before. "It's Tonks!" she said, before turning to go back to the kitchen to finish her toast.

:D Welcome to MI, Lil! And that's lovely.
She thought about Remus, how much he was going through now. He had lost his best fvriend three weeks ago, and he was still going about his normal life. However, she had heard him crying last night.
Heck, she missed Sirius too.... She had cried a fair amount.
She just wished that Remus would tell her how he felt... then they could mourn him together. Sirius was her cousin, for crying out loud.

Okay, let's try this again, shall we?
The thought of Sirius' death always left her with a feeling of overwhelming sadness, mingled with a bitterness, and had a dash of trepidation. Yes, she missed him terribly, and she had this feeling of emptiness inside her, but she couldn't help but wander what would've happened if she had told him the truth. Thinking back, she regretted lying to her cousin. Especially when it was just hours before his death.
Sirius had come up to her that morning, with a concerned look on his face. She knew that he was knowledgable of what was going on. Afterall, he was a smart man, and it was going on in his house.
"Nymph," For he had always called her his little nymph. "What's going on here? Is there anything that you need to be telling me?"
"No. Nothing at all, I don't know what you're talking about." She had said steadily, shaking her head.
"Listen, Tonks, I know what's going on here." He had his hands resting on her shoulders and looked down at her then-violet eyes. "You havn't slept in your own room since Halowe'en, and now you've been feeling ill for the past three months or so. Just tell me what's going on and we'll get you help, okay?"
That day she wore her hair a fiery shade of red, to match her mood. She tucked a stray strand of the shoulder-length locks behind her ear. "Siri, I'm not a little girl anymore, just trust me. Everything's fine. I havn't been getting into trouble like I used to, and I'm good and sober. I havn't had a drink in months, and I'm an adult who can make her own decisions."
"Nymphadora, just tell me the truth!" Sirius raged, "Just tell me one thing," he looked into her eyes, his own bloodshot and tired. "Who's the father."
All she had done was shake her head and storm off into her room.
She regretted it now, and here she was, sitting at the kitchen table of the Black House, in denial. She still hadn't told him, and if she didn't soon, he'd figure it out on his own. Living with a girl who's four-months in and beginning to show a little extra weight. But for some reason, she couldn't bring herself to do it.

This was because Remus was the father.
Yes, Remus was the father. They had gotten drunk one night after accomplishing something for the Order, and it had ended up with... this.
How could she tell him? God, she didn't know how, and it always seemed so... argh... simple in her mind, but she could never bring herself to tell him. Not with the grief of Sirius' death still so near.
It would break his poor wolfy heart, and she knew it.
It would make life difficult for them both. In fact, it was already making life difficult for her, seeing as she kept getting morning sickness.
She swore aloud as an uncontrollable force forced her to get up and run for the bathroom.

She ran up the stairs and down the hall. Past the portrait of Auntie Black (who cackled with glee as she passed), past the rooms where Molly and the boys were staying, and into the loo and slammed the door shut.
She bent over the toilet and heaved, the whole while she was thinking "Why did I cave in and have that firewhiskey?"
When brushing her teeth, she chasted herself, because she never was supposed to be drinking in the first place. Not since she got back from the Magical Rehabilitaton Center, after suffering a particularly nasty bout of Alcohol Poisoning, and facing the fact that she was, indeed, and alcoholic. Then one night in October she caved in and had a few drinks with Remus.
The result, as one could guess, was a particularly torrid night of passionate sex. The only thing was, that when both parties were well and sober, they kept on with their activities. This continued for a few weeks, Tonks and Remus acting as though their nocturnal activities were nonexistant.
Right around Christmastime, she gave up the pretenses of being innocent and moved into the same room as Remus. Although, she still kept most of her things in her room, so no one would suspect. Ever since they'd been secretly running around the house, hiding their affair from everyone. From stolen kisses in the gala, to mid-afternoon romps in the spare bedrooms. All was great. She was happy, he was happy, and the world seemed whole despite the mass chaos happening right outside their front door.
Sometimes they'd just lay together and read at night. Others he'd wrap his arms around her and read to her about the latest medical breakthroughs and some amusing articles from the Daily Profit.
Doing the math, and thinking back, she figured she must've gotten pregnant around late-March.
Deciding to return to civilization, she opened the door of the grungy loo, to find Molly Weasley standing outside the door, obviously about to knock and check if she was okay.

Mwahahaha... the evil authors are at it again...
"Are you all right, dear?" Molly asked, concerned.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm, fine..." Tonks trailed off as she noticed that Hermione had come up behind Molly. "Actually, Molly, can I talk to you? Alone?"
"Of course." Molly led her into her bedroom, before placing an Imperturbable Charm on the door. She sat her down. "Now, what's wrong, dear?"
"Molly... I have something to tell you. Sirius knew... but Remus... he doesn't. And no one can know."
"You can tell me, honey," Molly said in her best motherly voice.
"I'm pregnant."
Molly blinked. "You're pregnant? How? With who?"
Tonks, unable to hold it in any longer, broke down and told her the whole story.
"It's all my fault," she sobbed at last, "because I never thought I'd need protection, and now look where it's gotten me!"

Look at me Katz! I'm finally posting! :D :p And I'm kinda liking it!! :D
Molly rubbed Tonks's back, a distant frown upon her soft face.
"Now, Now Tonks. It's not a comming thing, people forgetting to use protection... Look at Arthur and I! We only got married because, I well got pregnant with Bill..." Molly blushed a dark red. "And, well, it hasn't exactly changed!" Molly squealed and covered her mouth with a hand. Tonks smiled at Molly.
"I'm not marrying Remus." She muttered defiantly, now crossing her arms. "I cant. I find it hard to settle, I get restless..."
"I'm not saying you need to marry Remus dear." Molly looked at Tonks sympathetically and stroked her spiky pink hair. "But he needs to know, he's the father, he has a right to."
"I'm not sure whether I want to keep it..." Tonks felt guilty saying this, but she knew, that having the baby would cause difficulties in the Order, and in these times of trouble it wouldn't be fair on a baby to be brought up in the war...
"Nymphadora Tonks!" Molly looked agasht, maybe it wasn't a good idea to tell mother of all mothers that she wanted to kill and unborn child. "There is no way you are," she paused, Molly didn't seem to want to think about abortion "going to terminate this pregancy." Molly looked at Tonks firmly. Tonks knew she was right, even if the time was wrong, it was still a baby, a tiny little person...
Tonks told Molly this, Molly nodded her head and gave Tonks a cuddle.
"I need to tell Remus dont I?"
"Yes, but not tonight, full moon tonight."
Was that alright as a first attempt at this Round Robin?
I like your writing style Lily! haha! :D Welcome to the MI!

Yay! Go you, FleurD!
Tonks sighed. "Tomorrow, then."
"That's the spirit, dear."
They left the room to find Hermione and Ginny standing close by. However, Tonks saw that they held no Extendable Ears. They looked concerned.
"What's up Tonks?" asked Hermione.
"It's nothing," lied the woman in question.
"We heard you crying," said Ginny, "and we want you to know that you can tell us; we won't tell the guys."
Tonks bit her lip. They looked sincere enough. She knew she could memory charm them if they told they boys.... Or hex them. "All right. Come in here. But, if you tell the guys, I'll hex you."
They nodded and followed her back into Molly's bedroom.
"All right, don't freak out. I'm pregnant."
"Ooh, with who?" Hermione asked, interested.
Tonks swallowed. "Remus."
"Oh my God..." breathed Ginny.

Tonks soon regretted telling Ginny and Hermione about her condition. She noticed them whispering to each other during dinner.
Molly gave Tonks her fair share of odd stares during the Roast dinner, Tonks almost started to regret telling Molly...
After the full moon
Remus was a tad bit happier after the full moon, he was in a strange mood Tonks had never seen him in; prehaps the grief and passing of the full moon did something strange to Remus. Tonks knew, however, that now was a better time then any other to tell Remus that she was indeed pregnant with his child.
"Erm, Remus." Tonks muttered, stopping him in the hall after breakfast. Remus smiled at Tonks and placed his warm hands on her sagging shoulders.
"Yes? You look awful Tonks..." Remus stated, now frowning at his lover.
"Can we have a word. It's about, what, we've been doing the past few months." Remus's amber-blue eyes widened in shock and Remus guided her into his bedroom where they spent many nights.
"You regret it don't you? I was awful wasn't I and you don't want to sleep with me any more do you?" Remus sighed, he looked his feet, Tonks shook her head.
"God no, well, I'm starting to regret it, sit down, please. You'll need to." Remus sat down on his bed, however, he knew what she was going to say before she even opened her mouth. "Well... I'm - I'm pregnant..." Her voice trailed off and she clapsed her young hands to her face. Remus swore under his breath, he didn't normaly swear, but this was a one off.
"You're... You're pregnant? I never thought..." He seemed to dissolve into his thoughts. Tonks collapsed beside Remus on his bed and broke into heartfelt sobs.
"I'm, I'm so sorry..." She sobbed, crying into her knees, Remus though throughly shocked, took Tonks's head and stroked her lank pink curls.
"There's no need to be sorry Tonks. No need at all. We both did this, and we'll get through it together." He whispered soothingly. Tonks was relieved to hear those words leave his soft lips.
"Really? You mean it?" Tonks sniffed, she lifted her head and looked into Remus's understanding amber toned eyes. She noticed tears had started to brim.
"Of course I do. I'll support you through what ever happens. Does anyone else know?"
"Molly, Hermione and Ginny." Remus nodded. He put his arms around Tonks and consoled her. Tonks's stomach lurched oddly, she knew it was nothing to do with pregnancy - it was love.

Well, fleur, you've stuck me in a right fix here.
Remus was confused, inside. He didn't know what to think. On one side, he was proud of this child, happy that it was there. On another side, he was concerned, for he knew that he and Tonks really couldn't raise this child. And on yet another side, he was sad that this had occurred.
Sadly, poor Kathy's muse isn't descending, so she must leave it there.
