Yes, StarGazr and I (well, really just me) decided that it was unfair that they have a LOTR: The Musical over at C-o-E, so I decided that I'd start a musical thread here.

Basically, what you do is post songs that you think go along with scenes and/or characters created by J.K. We can most certainly debate over songs as well.

So, to get us started....

Bring Me To Life by Evanescence for Sirius (not that I'm admitting he's dead....)
In The End by Linkin Park for Harry about Dumbledore

I put my trust in you....

For Sirus:

The Scienctist - Coldplay...

Ron and Hermione:

Come what may - Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman! Imagine Ron and Hermione playing Christian and Satine... wait... no... bad idea...

You're the One That I want (woo ooh ooh) - the Grease peoples :D

That's all I can think of, that was fun! :D

Another One Bites The Dust for Dumbledore or Harry about Moldie Voldie... or that scene where Harry stands up from behind the gravestone in GoF...

But I'm ready, yes I'm ready for you
I'm standing on my own two feet

Mwahaha! Soon I'll be chucking out Les Miz and Queen songs all over the place!

We Are The Champions for Sirius

I've paid my dues
Time after time
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand
Kicked in my face
But I've come through

ChianaWeasley

I think Sir Nicholas should have the solo of 'Mr. Cellophane'

Finally, I have found a befitting song for the Marauders... even though it's more of a lover-to-lover thing, but MWPP had a brotherly sort of love... :D

Anyways, I now give you, Remus' song, aka, The Marauder Song

Sister Hazel, Life Got In The Way

We knew it all from a little thing
It was everything in our first minute
And it took us to another place
Yeah another place and we fell in it
How dare you not remember
How dare you walk away
We adored every little thing
Every little thing would leave us breathless
Every dawn split another day
And in another day we weren't so restless
How dare you not remember
How dare you walk away

And I wanted you so much
Just like I do right now
I wanted us to be the one
the poets write their books about
I wanted it to last
I wanted to grow old
But life got in the way

We walked around in a heavy haze
We were stuck in days of so much warring
We got lost in a tricky maze
Yeah a tricky maze that was so scarring
How come you can't remember
How dare you walk away
Then you start to add the little things
Add the little things and trip the mighty
Now we got a little bitter thing
A little bitter thing that grew like ivy
And how dare you not remember
How dare you walk away

And I wanted you so much
Just like I do right now
I wanted us to be the one
the poets write their books about
I wanted it to last
I wanted to grow old
But life got in the way

Yeah and apathy grows quietly
where rapture used to fly
Oh and promises and certainty
have left love here to die
Won't you stay
and don't let this one fall away

And I wanted you so much
Just like I do right now
I wanted us to be the one
the poets write their books about
I wanted it to last
I wanted to grow old
But life got in the way

Yeah and I wanted you so much
Just like I do right now
I wanted us to be the one
the poets write their books about
I wanted it to last
I wanted to grow old
But life got in the way

Yeah well life got in the way

Okay, so mainly Remus could sing it about the Marauders, but still!

xKatiexBellx
07-18-2003, 10:02 AM

OOH! *brainstorm* For the scene where Sirius confronts Wormtail, The Confrontation from Les Miz.

Fleur, when're you coming back to the Round Robin?

ChianaWeasley
07-18-2003, 10:43 PM
I think 'Valley Girl' should be Lavendar and Partavi's theme song. I cant stand them. I mean honestly, they look up to Trelawny!

xKatiexBellx
07-19-2003, 12:36 AM
I have two more...
'Brother Down' -by Sam Roberts for Remus
&
'American Woman' -by Lenny Kravitz for Harry to Cho when he gives up on her... when she's a "thing of the past":D

katzpotter
07-19-2003, 01:44 AM
Enter the Les Miz fanatic!

I Dreamed a Dream for either Remus or Sirius, just leave out the whole, 'He slept a summer by my side' stuffs.

Who Am I? - The Trial for Wormtail

Stars for Fudge

The ABC Cafe - Red and Black for Dumbledore and the members of the Order... perhaps the 'Marius seeing a pretty woman' be Remus and Tonks?

Right, will save the rest for later.

ChianaWeasley
07-19-2003, 11:51 AM
Ah, well I have one for Fred and George and maybe their old pal Dean Thomas....'The Bum Bum Song'!!!!!

Never got round to seeing Les Mis... I think this summer me and my mum are actually going to see all the musicals and plays in the west end... Bit hopless living in London and not seeing them... Ooh Deep Impact is on! Elijah Swooning! (yes thats completly random but hey... he still looks hobbitish!)

I thought of another song last night... But I forgot it... :o

Katz, I completely forgot about the Round Robin, I was on holiday, and things... But I'm back (thank god...) and can comtribute! :D lol, pregnant Tonks!

More Les Miz:

Empty Chairs at Empty Tables for *sniff* Remus to sing

And, by Heather Alexander:
Wolfen One
Life's Flame
Defender of the Child

...for Remus, Fawkes and Sirius.

From "The Scarlet Pimpernel":

Our Separate Ways(Hermione/Viktor)
Madame Guillotine(Bellatrix)
When I Look at You(Ron/Hermione, finally)

And with a minor lyrical tweak:

They seek him here; they seek him there;
Those Aurors seek him everywhere;
He's driving the Ministry de-ler-i-ous-
That demmed, elusive Si-ri-us!

katzpotter
07-21-2003, 07:52 PM
Marchwarden, that's lovely! I made up a Sirius vsong to the tune of Auld Lang Syne...

'He lives on, in our hearts and minds,
and in our fics he stayyys!
The symbol of the hope that's gone,
he'll stay with us alwayyys!
And should J.K-ay kill him off,
The great man that he issss,
we'll seek her out and foh-ong her,
along with all her kiiinnn!'

:D Yes. And have I mentioned that I love your sig?

ChianaWeasley
07-22-2003, 11:23 AM
katz, I love your avatar! Though I think we are two of the only three I know of thats supports the idea. But I say keep on truckin!

How about 'Lets Give Em' Something To Talk About' by bonnie Raitte for ron and Hermione? I rather like that :D

Marchwarden

Widows in White is a fairly obscure band, but they have a song called "Cry Marauder". Sample lyrics:

Last of the breed in darkened days
Swift to the hunt by secret ways
True to the creed that tears have bought
Dread to the foe that must be fought
Wolf on the border...CRY MARAUDER!

...the relevance of which is self-explanatory, really.

katzpotter
07-22-2003, 04:12 PM
Marchwarden, that's lovely! *thinks hard*

How about Good Times Gone by Nickelback, basically for the Marauders. It's a really good song, save for the curse word in the chorus, but... yeah!

Where the good times gone?
Where the good times gone?
All the stupid fun
And all that !!!! we've done
Where the good times gone?
And you still don't know

ChianaWeasley
07-22-2003, 10:35 PM
For Fred and George Weasley the song

'Drunken Lullabies' by flogging Molly

we find ourselves in the same old mess...

Okay, so I'm listening to the radio, and then! I hear this song, and I'm like... ooh, Harry song! So I wrote down the three lines I could remember, and I think it's a lovely song for Harry to Dumbledore.

Saliva, Rest In Pieces

Look at me, my depth perception must be off again
Cause this hurts deeper than I thought it did
It has not healed with time
It just shot down my spine. You look so beautiful tonight
Remind me how you laid us down
And gently smiled before you destroyed my life
Would you find it in your heart
To make this go away
And let me rest in pieces
Would you find it in your heart?
To make this go away
And let me rest in pieces

Would you find it in your heart?
To make it go away
And let me rest in pieces
Look at me, my depth perception must be off again
You got much closer than I thought you did
I'm in your reach
You held me in your hands
But could you find it in your heart?
To make this go away
And let me rest in pieces
Would you find it in your heart?
To make it go away
And let me rest in pieces

Fleurdelacour

Ooh that's good Katz :)

I found a song too on a website, on a Sirius memorial funnily enough... and the song I found is perfect gor Harry and Remus for Sirius.

"Our Farewell" - Within Temptation

In my hands
Legacies of memories
I can hear you say my name
I can almost see your smile
Feel the warmth of your embrace
But there is nothing but silence now
Around the ones I loved
Is this our farewell?

Sweet darling, you worry too much
My child, see the sadness in your eyes
You are not alone in life
Although you might think that you are

Never thought this day would come so soon
We had no time to say goodbye
How can the world just carry on?
I feel so lost when you're not at my side
But there is nothing but silence now
Around the ones I loved
Is this our farewell?

Sweet darling, you worry too much
My child, see the sadness in your eyes
You are not alone in life
Although you might think that you are

So sorry your world is tumbling down
I will watch you through these nights
Rest your head and go to sleep
‘Cause my child, this is not our farewell
This is not our farewell…

*wipes tear from eye* beautiful...

I actually wrote a Musical! :D Marauders - The Musical.. after being inspired fromt his thread, and after being inspired by Queen :p

FOOTLOOSE!
Of course, "Almost Paradise" for Ron/Hermione
"Somebody's Eyes"- When Sirius is on the loose in PoA
ehh, I can think of one from Rocky Horror, "Dammit, Janet!" for Ron/ Hermione.

And one more R/H song... "In Whatever Time We Have" from Children of Eden.

*sobbing* OMG! This song is perfect!

Sirius (after book 5): "Dante's Prayer" ~Loreena McKennitt

*sobbing uncontrollably*

Here are the lyrics:

When the dark wood fell before me
And all the paths were overgrown
When the priests of pride say there is no other way
I tilled the sorrows of stone

I did not believe because I could not see
Though you came to me in the night
When the dawn seemed forever lost
You showed me your love in the light of the stars

Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me

Then the mountain rose before me
By the deep well of desire
From the fountain of forgiveness
Beyond the ice and the fire

Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me

Though we share this humble path, alone
How fragile is the heart
Oh give these clay feet wings to fly
To touch the face of the stars

Breathe life into this feeble heart
Lift this mortal veil of fear
Take these crumbled hopes, etched with tears
We'll rise above these earthly cares

Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me...

*continues sobbing* It has a Celtic sound to it, so it's really mournful.

Welcome to MI, WFOL! I seem to remember you posting in the LOTR: The Musical! thread over at CoE.

Let's see...

I used The Confrontation for Sirius' run-in with that ******* Wormatail after the Potters' deaths.

And I used On My Own for Hermione about Harry, being the big H/Hr shipper that I am.
(Being the big Les Miz fan that I am, most of the ones from Les Miz were used by me.)

Red and Black was used for Dumbledore and the members of the Order... but I've just realized that it can be used for the D.A. too...

Empty Chairs at Empty Tables was used by Marchwarden for Remus, seeing as he's "The Last Marauder." (That was put in quotations because I'm in denial.)

Nice use of Castle On A Cloud, and I love the Ding, Dong, The Witch is Dead for Salazar Slytherin in the Draco Series! *is a big fan of Leather Pants!Draco*

But yes, your suggestions are lovely! Thank you!

At the risk of getting a wee bit off-topic...

My youngest cousin and some of her girlfriends from high school have decided to form a punk rock band.

After some debate, they have elected to call themselves:

Wotcher Harry

Which I thought was cute.

Hmm...

You know, I've been thinking... If I say that I'm in denial, that means that I acknowledge that The Death happened, I just don't believe it.

So I'm not in denial. I firmly believe that the bit with the arch never happened.

Someday by Nickelback for Hermione about Harry and the new situation that the world is in.

Edit, November 16: Jeez Louise, this thread has gone down in the dumps.

Uhm... how about... er... Could I Be You by Matchbox Twenty for Harry talking about the rest of the happy go lucky world?
