What Im about to tell you has a proclaimer to it...

Proclaimer: All members hear this, Chiana has always been a fan for the pirate scene! She is not suddenly into pirates because of the new movie! Shes a pirate at heart!!!!

Ok, me and Din bought two bumper stickers. one says Kiss me Im a Pirate' and the other is just the piracy symbol. Well we're putting them on our bumper. And we dubbing our boat the S.S. Kanigette! And to go with it, Im attaching a small pirate flag to the antennae.(the fun part is it pops out of the hood.) So when Din turns the car on I'll yell "Hoist the penant mateys!!"

Im very excited to have named the car officially, and I dont want everyone thinking I did it because PoTC came out. Grr,lol, hence the disclaimer.

ah, im not big into sports. And the only thing Im filled in on is
Costa Rica's soccer team. At work theres a work exchange program, alot of ppl came from costa Rica, you hear all about the team during the day. LOL. I thought you meant football. I dont understand the thrill of american football, WWF, or nascar racing. Im terribly sorry but cars driving in ciricles 500 times is not entertaining for me.

Well I wanted to post this to get your opinion on it, I know you'll be proud of me once I tell you the heart breaking tale. ok here I go, sorry if i rant...

Alright, last night at work(btw Im a hostess at a family style resturant)I had a group of six to seat. They were three couples. One couple was african american, the other were two men who I believed to be Arabian(didnt find out the country), then were was this tall,heavy set man, with his mean looking wife. So I explain how everything works to them and bring them to the table, they all have to sit togather, so I can fill the table. Well the mean looking causcasin couple sat on the opposite end of the table. very politely I asked them to move up and sit with the other two couples. Well the man dropped the chair, looked at his wife then at me, as if I was asking him to preform a nasty duty of some kind. Well he gets in a huff and stands by the room divider with his wife, I think they just dont want to sit with other people. So I tell the lovely other couples who were VERY nice all about the relishes and such. Then I go back to the mean couple who wouldn't sit down and ask if there was a problem, the man said 'YES!' and looked at the table with a nasty look. I asked what exactly the problem was(very politely), and he told me he was NOT sitting at that table. They were not americans, he informed me he would wait for the next table and stood there. I had to go back and get his receipt. The poor two fellows who were foreign sadly said "theres a problem isnt there?" I was SOOOO angry at this big jerk, and I replied "yes, im very sorry, it will be taken care of" So I walk back over to the couple and tell them I'll see what I can do. I btw am in a blind fury at the horrible stunt they just pulled. Im livid, so I leave the dining room and go up to the hostess podium. I start telling my other coworkers what he had done. So I had to take them back to the OTHER dining room and seat them at a new table. With this false cheesy smile on my face and a high pitched forced voice. I come back to the podium, Im so upset im about ready to cry. And my other coworker made me go take a walk to cool off, i was that upset. I tell you it took all of my inner human strength to not shove the receipt back at this couple and tell them "you are rude. And your actions are offensive to me. Go get a refund, and I NEVER want to see you in this resturant again." Ot perhaps just smash him over the head with a monkey bowl. But I proudly bettered myself and walked away from him. And I am the better person for it.

What would you all have done in my situation. And sorry for the ranting but this still really just....ARGH!!! I need to go wash something ;)

Chiana, I believe you're right. The man was prejudiced and racist, and deserved a good fonging. Even though you complied to his wishes and got him a different table, your thoughts were the ones that really mattered. If you thought that he was wrong, then you're on the right track. Just because some people are foreign doesn't mean that they're poisonous or terrorists.
