I think Katie Bell will still be there. (Because Ginny talks about Alicia and Angelina leaving, but doesn't mention Katie.)

And I hope those pathetic beaters aren't back. :p Fred and George were the best! Quidditch just isn't the same without them.

The reason I say Harry OR Ginny is because so much is going on with Harry he might have too much on his mind, or Dumbledore will make him stop because of that, then Ginny would fill in... or Ginny could be a second for him... if Harry can't play because of something, she'll play for him

Sadly we cant have Gred and Forge back, after all the left school. My guess is RON as new captain. Harry as seeker and Ginny and Katie as chasers, no idea about the other players. But new Beaters would be great.

I guess the replacement beaters from OotP might be back. They do have names, but no character development, other than being lousy beaters.


Captains seem to be chosen (I'm guessing by the Head of House) as opposed to being elected by teammates. So Katie Bell will probably be the next captain. If not her, I'd say it will be Harry (unless JKR wants Ron's Erised vision to come true).


I'm starting to wonder whether we'll ever have Quidditch again like it used to be.

There was no Hogwarts Quidditch in GoF. And very little good Quidditch in OotP. Plus, in the game for the Quidditch Cup, we were in the forest with Grawp! :rolleyes:

We need Quidditch as a fun change of pace from all the dark themes.

I think Harry as team captain, he has more experiance then ron, his dad was team captain and he didn't get prefect, so dumbledore kinda owes him.

Harry as Captain wouldn't be fair on Katie, and he's missed out on literally two years of games, no matter how good he is. He's a bit busy with saving the world anyway...

I think that Quiddich has sort of outlived its usefulness as a crucial plot device (just like Draco Malfoy) as Harry and his tasks have grown.


I think that after Dumbledore's explanation for not making Harry a prefect Harry might actually be quite relieved if he doesn't have to be captain of the Quidditsch team. To be honest, I'd rather see him make more of the DA, and that's work enough.


I am sure there still will be Quidditch - but what's the point of it now? We didn't even hear what house won the house cup in OoTP - and Harry certainly didn't care. For him that Quidditch championship also seems to be a pretty marginal concern compared to some of the other worries he has on his hands (note the passages in OotP, and there are several, were we get things like 'just a day earlier Harry would have been delighted about this but now it just didn't seem to make any difference'. As Harry has to come to terms with the fact that he has to kill V or be killed he really won't have much emotiuonal space to care about a Quidditch match.


I do hope that he remains seeker, in a way, for his own sake - but I wouldn't be surprised if JKR foudn areason for him to quit totally....

We never heard what house colours decorated the hall at the end of book V because Harry wasn't there. Or did I miss something?

Ron's not a prat.... I was so proud of him when he won the Quidditch Cup, remember what he saw in the mirror of erised? He's getting there...

Personally, I think it'd be a bit clieched if Harry did become Captain... But like I said before, he's to busy...

I´d like to see Ron as captian, after all he is good at tactics (chess) and a captian will defitntily need it.

I´d love Ron to become head Boy. I really was angry with dumbledore for telling Harry he didnt make him a prefect because of all the other issues he had to deal with.

As for the morror Ron already achieved holding the quidditch cup. I hope he´ll get the other, head Boy and Captain too.

It was implied at the end of book 5 that Harry would resume his role as seeker, as Ginny said that she'd prefer to be a Chaser. I really hope he does play next year, even if Quidditch isn't as much of a focus as it has been in previous books. Playing Quidditch seems to be one of the only things that makes Harry happy. :(

LOL Fleurd, I know you love Ron, but how can you say that Harry becoming Quidditch captain would be cliche, but not think that Ron would be cliche also? Harry being Quidditch captain makes sense, as he's been on the team since his first year (although I agree with Elwen's comments on him not NEEDING it), but if Ron fulfills his dreams of becoming Mr Hogwarts I might be sick! The entire house hoisting him onto their shoulders was bad enough. ;)

Let Katie Bell be captain next year, she's earned it. :D Then pass the torch to Harry for his 7th year. IF nobody better comes along. :D
