My first fanfic! It's a Sirius/Remus fic. Here we go...(BTW,this is set after OoP with flashbacks.)
Chapter 1
Moonlight Memories
After Sirius was gone, everyone worried about Harry. They couldn't stop pestering him about how he was doing and how he felt. Sure, Sirius was his godfather and Harry loved him, but he did only have 2 years to get close to him. For some reason, no one thought to see how the person whose life was most affected was. They didn't bother to ask how he was and if he was going to be ok. They didn't seem to care he was the one left alone now; they didn't seem to notice he had lost the one person his soul was bonded to forever. No one thought about Remus Lupin.
He never gave them cause to ask, but that was probably because he was alone at Grimmuald Place all summer. If anyone had checked, they would have found him wandering the halls aimlessly, much thinner than even before. He seemed not to be able to handle that Sirius was gone and his mind went into a shut-down. If Remus was lucky, he remembered to eat once a day. He couldn't shake the feeling that his heart had been ripped from his body and dragged behind that thin veil to dissapear with the one person left for him to live for.
One warm, July night, Remus sat at the window on the third floor. He was staring up at a perfect half moon remembering a night seventeen years before. The moon looked the same, but that night was in a cold December. It was the night of the New Year's costume party. The last one Hogwarts had ever had. The night Sirius and he had finally realized everything.
