HP Symposium 2005

Yes, it's almost two years off, but I thought I'd put this here anyway.

Remember Nimbus 2003, the Harry Potter symposium in Florida? Well, the organizers are planning their next one.

Oct. 6-10, 2005 in Salem, Massachusetts, USA.

I was so bummed that I couldn't go to the first one. But Mass. is really close to me (in Vermont). :D So I'm going to try to go to this one! (Meaning that I'm definitely going, unless untimely death/job loss/dismemberment/insanity occurs. ;))

I will follow what's happening with the symposium and post news here. I am also willing to organize a Muggle Informer contingent if anyone else wants to go.

I believe you have to be 18 or older or be at least 14 with parental permission and a chaperone who is 18 or older.

So, is anybody interested?

Hehe, sounds like a pretty cool shindig, and Salem is probably the ideal place for it I'd imagine! :) I think all the discussion undertaken on the book would be quite interesting: I enjoyed discussing Harry Potter when we did it at university, so it'd probably be quite stimulating!

I think in all likelihood it's a tad far for me, but I'd still be interested in reading all the news etc. associated with the event. It sounds like fun! :)

Salem? Hmm, I doubt spouse would be interested but I might... may even be able to talk a gaming buddy or two into going along (two of 'em waited in line for OotP with me). I'd like to see more information when that site goes up, but I'm at least a distant possibility, I suppose.

Well now, I was just talkngi to the lovely Chiana and we realised that this symposium was just wrapping up today, how did it all go Kristin, did you have a really great time???? :D

Furthermore, I was browsing through some pictures of the event and I saw someone who looked very familiar, and considering the team name I figured it surely must have been you if not your doppleganger, so tell me tell me tell me, were you a punctuation pixie? :D

I had so much fun. Obviously (just look at when this thread started), I was looking forward to this convention for a long time. ... But I was stunned by just how much of a blast I had. It was one of the most fun times I've had in my life! :D

Glad you had such a great time though, care to share and details about any of the best bits? Did you play in the quidditch? See any crumple-horned snorkcacks? Drink loads of butterbeer? See millions of people wearing glasses and with a scar on their forehead? ;) :D
