Ella Enchanted (A Disgrace)

The film was a disgrace to the book, they made it into some teeny bopper film and it was M O D E R N I Z ED the costume design was horrible, the jokes wearn't even funny. They turned it into a "Shrek" meets "Princess Diaries" film when its not. *curses Miramax* fans of the book I want to hear you complaints!

I haven't seen it but the trailer looked quite horrible. It's a pity, because Joanna Lumley is in it and I like her.

I didn't even see it. I read the book a few months ago and really enjoyed it. Then I saw the preview and read a synopsis for the movie and said, "What in the world?!?!" It had nothing to do with the book! :mad:

The stupid thing is that there's no excuse. Some books have to be changed because they're too long. Fair enough. Some books have to be changed because they wouldn't make a good movie in a strict translation (need more action or whatever). Fair enough.

But Ella Enchanted would have made a fabulous movie with no changes whatsoever! Why did they totally change it? Grrr!


For those of you who like Ella Enchanted (the book), read The Ordinary Princess by M.M. Kaye. It's a lot like Ella, but (IMO) even better!
