Well, not really a special, but I'm referring to the extra stuff tagged onto the showing of Sorcerer's Stone last night (on American TV. Did they show it in Britain?). There were interviews with the three, and short clips of POA. God they look so grown up! And not very much like their movie selves, especially Emma. But the movie looks like it could be really interesting, even the parts with Lupin! And Buckbeak looks so much better than I imagined when reading the book, thank goodness!

All in all, it's looking really good!

I saw it! :swoon: I was screaming the film looks so amazing! and the dementors look exactly how I pictured them! *shivers* and Ron looks so good with that scruffy/school boy look and the messy hair......*Luthien pauses and swoons again* I am so excited..............

I'm still kind of iffy on Buckbeak - creature effects haven't been the strong point of the film adaptations, and while Buckbeak does appear to be a step up from, say, Fluffy, that isn't saying a whole lot. OTOH, I like Fred, George, and Ron's longer hair as I imagine wizards are more likely than Muggle men to grow theirs out (Dumbledore, Snape, and Lucius Malfoy all appear to support this theory - and note that while Lucius' hair isn't specified in the books, Snape's is mentioned as shoulder-length, making it longer than Alan Rickman's Snape wig). I do look forward to the movie as a whole, especially after the kids' comments on the adults' acting in the Shrieking Shack scene.

Missed the comments on the shrieking shack. But Buckbeak is much better than I imagine from reading the books. I couldn't ever get a concept of him that wasn't utterly ridiculous looking.

I was watching Survivor, but taped the SS show so I could watch it again and again. I really liked it except--

I screwed up and missed the middle 1:20 and missed the POA preview! Arrrrgh! :trout: self

I'm trying to find a download, but none of them are working--probably too much traffic right now.

I am very happy to hear good things about Lupin. And I agree about the previous creatures which were the weakest visual effect IMHO.

From what little I've seen of Beaky, I think they've done a rather splendid job. They've succeeded in making him regal and superior to most of the creatures Hagrid has dealt with. I can picture it bowing to me with trust and respect. To me, thats pretty close to what I pictured. :)
