thats simple, the third. Cuaron has followed the plot more than the other two films, which is what I want to see. and the acting was loads better this time...well except for Daniel's "crying". :)

No question - Cuarón has produced the best film, even if he's chopped out lots of people's favourite bits of the book.
Although I really enjoyed HP1, it was as much because I recognised a lot of where they were filming from real life in my own childhood, as because I thought the book was well realised into a film. HP2 was again a rather plodding film, which to me illustrates that being too faithful to a book is as dangerous as using a book too lightly.
I'm looking forward to seeing what Mike 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' Newell will do with HP4, now!

All terrible. ;\
PoA for me because it works as a film and isnt just a illustraltion of a book. I found the others quite boring. PoA has great visuals, is interesting to watch, I like the casual way of the magic in here, and much more, but I´m too tired now to list all of my reason why I love it:).
And besides PoA made me finally care for Harry :)

PoA for me. I'm going to try to let myself try to separate the books from the movies. They're obviously two very different things. Christopher Columbus, while staying closer to the plot of Books 1 and 2, managed to do something I didn't think was possible with J.K. Rowling: make it boring. Cuaron, while straying a bit from the plot, adding new scenes, taking favorites out, managed to make the movie interesting.
I had very high hopes for this movie, and while they weren't met in the ways I expected, they were met eventually.
If I want the real Shrieking Shack scene, I can always go read it. If I want Harry winning the Quidditch Cup, it's there in the book. The books and movies are different, and they're going to become more different as the books get longer.

excellently put
I didnt see the first two in the cinema because I didnt like the trailer and I had practically force myselt to see it on DVD in one go :D
Alfonso on the other hand lured me into the cinema more than once

I didn't really like any of them. PoA was definitely an improvement, but I think that some parts were boring, some were cheesy, some just went by too fast and others just weren't interesting. There were few parts I really liked of the first two and the third was all mixed up. Things like when Harry got his Firebolt and other stuff were in the wrong place and it switched the scene too quickly. I know they don't have much time, but they could at least finish the part and cut out another, then put it in the deleted scenes on the DVD.

Well...I have high hopes for the fourth film, since it is my favorite books out of the five so far. But with all the director changes I can only hope for the best, right? But I will be very picky about the next film, with the deletion of scenes and straying from the storyline...it will be no easy task to meet my expectations. :)

I have to admit though, the third movie was definately better watching it the second time. Once I got over the shock of how they completely butchered the book, it was ok....

Well said... I totally agree. They got few parts right. It's just not good if they don't finish what the scene should look like according to the books.
