http://muggleinformer.net/images/sitenews.jpgYou may have noticed that the MI and our sister site, the Council-of-Elrond (http://www.council-of-elrond.com), were both down earlier this week. The whole network went down after the Virginia Dept. of Transportation accidentally cut a fiber optic cable.
If this site ever goes down, check to see if the Council-of-Elrond is working. If it is, then just wait a few minutes to see if the MI comes back online. The database may have lost it's connection, and that shouldn't take too long to get fixed.
If both sites are down, then the problem is with the server. Depending on what the problem is, that could take minutes or several hours to fix.
If the MI is down, you can always post at the Council-of-Elrond. You can ask questions in the Site announcements forum there, or you can start a MI refugee thread in the Prancing Pony forum there (if there isn't already one). You may also find other threads there to interest you.
If the Council-of-Elrond goes down, but the MI is still working, you may see folks from there over here asking questions. They may start a thread in the Leaky Cauldron, or they may join established threads.
Just don't panic if this site, or both sites, go down. As soon as one of the administrators finds out there is a problem, we'll contact our server host. All should be back in working order shortly.
