"It has been a weighty secret to carry around," she said in updates (http://www.jkrowling.com/textonly/news_view.cfm?id=82) to her official site. "But finally sharing it with you was wonderful: much more fun than wrapping presents and tidying the house before the family arrives, which is what I am supposed to be doing at the moment."
Jo also reports that the book will be less than 38 chapters, and is in the editing process.
