CNBC News this week apparently revealed that Elizabeth Hurley has been offered a part in the fifth Harry Potter Movie "The Order of The Phoenix" with the character described only as an "evil witch", best guess for now is the role of Bellatrix. She apparently hasn't signed yet, but is thinking about it. Filming begins sometime next year.

I know this is only a rumour but I thought it was interesting, anyone have any thoughts on it? Certainly not necessarily someone I would have expected for the role, but I think she'd do okay with it! :)

Well she's hot... or at least she was, I'm not sure if she still is - she hasn't been in anything for a while. I dunno, Bellatrix? I always thought of her as less...glamourous? When I first heard the news, the only "evil witch" that I could think of for a second was Umbridge, and somehow Liz Hurley didn't quite fit the image of a wide-mouthed toad.

Gotta agree with you there PG, I always thought she was pretty hot too! Man, Hurley as Umbridge, I think that'd really mess me up, what a thought! :)

I always picture Patsy Bryne as Umbridge when I read the book:

Patsy Bryne has the toad like features for sure! :D
But as for a super sexy Bellatrix, well, again I'm not convinced. You're meant to hate them, not love them. And she'd turn her into a character who uses her charms (instead of her insanity!!) to chase the kids!
Not convinced at all am I!

Have to agree with you Samwise, she's supposed to be an evil doer: she never really struck me as sexy when I read the book! There was actually a small blurb about this is our free-take-home-public-transport newspaper that mentioned why they wanted somebody like Liz Hurley and I kept it so I could post about it, but now I've gone and lost it and I can't remember what was said, curses!!!!!
Grrr, bad Xazzy! :banghead: :trout: :)
