As you may or may not know, Melkor and I recently went to Scotland for Dr. Evil's wedding (remember him, he used to moderate these forums years ago) and coincidently, Goblet of Fire was our inflight entertainment.

I still think the dragon air chase is too long, but the ending still made me cry :drama:

*sigh* still haven't seen it. I always get distracted by other films that I haven't seen whenever I'm at the video shop.

so you're not a true believer then?

;)

I've seen it a bunch of times. Well...4 or 5 maybe? I bought the DVD as soon as it was released and I had money for it.

Do we need to tie you up and make you watch it?

Agreed on the dragon chase.... but it is a perfect sequence for an in-flight movie ;) :D

I am still sad that there wasn't more time for the end - a bit more exposition and time to let it sink in would have been crucial. And in spite of the SFX spectacle, the whole world cup scene should have been left out or used propery to actually tell part of the story - as it is, it doesn't serve a proper purpose in the film.

other than to introduce the dark mark and Viktor Crum, you're right.

Aw, he got married? That's great, congratulations Doc! :cheer: :)

Cool movie to see in the plane, definitely, hope you didn't get too many dragons swooping in on the plane to watch through the windows, I hear they're everywhere in Scotland! ;)

Well, with the memory charms they put on people when the dragons get loose Reba might not know....

unless she is a witch (in the JKR sense), in which case she wouldn't tell... ;) :D

Well, I finally re-watched it. While I still think it could have been edited better, it bothered me much less this time around. And I *still* cried when Cedric died. Poor Ced.:( (And I hardly ever cry during movies.)

Howdy all -

and Reba didn't mention it, but I had the thrill of meeting herself and Melkor when they were over here.

Alas, I was working and couldn't get any time off, so it was a brief meeting and I was very low-energy (having just come from work - apologies again, Reba!), but we had a lovely time. It was great, after all these years, to MEET you two! :)

I was given the DVD of Goblet of Fire for Christmas and just watched it last night - I'd have to agree with Elwen, the ending seemed decidedly rushed. There again, they WERE trying to film an impossible book...

Happy New Year, folks!

Yes we did get to finally meet Cousin Lanen, and it was a lovely evening, depsite it being a short visit. We met at a pub (of course!) and unforuntately my digi-cam memory card decided to give up the ghost for the night and none of the pics we took were saved. hmph :(

Hopefully we'll be back sometime. Next trip is likely Ireland, but ya never know. I felt so at home in Edinburgh, I will definitely be back sometime. :good:

Doc and his new wife are moving back to Toronto however. Cost of living in Jolly Ol' England finally got to them I think. *sigh*
