Hi there Potteroos (heheh) :)
You may or maynot know, but I'm a journalism student, anyway for my upcoming project I have to do a 2000 word story and then turn it into a website.

My story idea is "The Fantasy Life" where I look at the rise in popularity of the Fantasy genre with the Harry Potter, LOTR and Star Wars Movies..

I want to do a profile on a LOTR fan, a Star Wars fan and a Harry Potter fan (and yes its ok, crossover is quite alright)

So..... I need someone to interview, preferably someone who knows alot about Harry Potter fangroups, you know like we IMladrisians (CoEers) have meets, some people dress up for premieres, theres lots of LOTR sites... I need this sort of information on a Harry Potter level,

AND someone who's maybe got funny stories to tell, some pics of meets or dress ups (any pics are good thanks)
and someone who doesn't mind being quoted on my website (which won't go much further than my teacher and possibly other class members viewing it, so no big stress there)

"What's comin' will come, an' we'll meet it when it does"

Ok, now for someone more qualified...

OMG! Is that actually Frodo there in the background? :swoon:

I don't dress up for Premiers... I hated the movie...

lol Anarie! It is Frodo! Mr Frowdoo! (Been saying that in English all day! There are huge pictures of Sam and Frodo on the wall beside me! :D)

Haven't gone to any meets as of yet, it was cancelled! I do write fanfiction... or did... and I plan to kidnap JKR when she stays in her house in Kennington (I know exactly WHAT road. You think you can hide from me? No celeb Austrailian, American or British! I know where you live!)

Well, on your plus side I check several sites daily to read more fanfic than is probably healthy for me and I wore my cloak to the bookstore at midnight to pick up GoF... and as most people here know by now, I :swoon: for Snape. ;) On the minus side, I haven't yet written fanfic (though I've a few plot bunnies bouncing around my head...) and the closest I've heard of to meets are a few groups sponsored by and meeting at area bookstores - and those are aimed at the young 'uns so that an adult showing up who wasn't a parent or teacher would be quite suspect. :(

Hey Xyla! I didn't know you were a journalist! :) (I am, too.)

I'm a huge HP fan and a huge Star Wars fan.

But I'm not sure I have what you're looking for. The only HP fan site I've been on is this one. And I haven't been to a meet. (You'll probably have a tough time finding people who meet because the demographic for Harry Potter is so much younger.) I did get GoF at midnight. Camped out for Star Wars Episode I. Dressed up as Princess Leia before Star Wars became "cool" again. I'll let you decide if those are worth anything.

I'm totally willing to help. Let me know. :)

Hello! Here I am!

Well.. maybe. I LOVE the books, go on many fan sites and read and write fan fics... Have a few photos of embarresing dressing up.. (I will have to scan these in though) But I haven't been a meet as yet!

Although... I didn't LOVE the movie. I liked it, very much, and I LOVED the quidditch and Sean and Snape and Draco and Ron... but Daniel radcliffe was a bit of a let down. However apart from not liking the movie as much as the books, I might be your gal. Email me if interested! :)

Hogwarts Online was AMAZING.... but then that went kaput. They had classes that you had to write essays for and everything.

If you haven't already found someone, I'm willing, I haven't dressed up to the extent that I did for LotR though I did wear my purple cloak and a weasley jumper, which with my red hair looked quite good. And I do have one or two stories to tell.

I do know someone who is really obcessed though, I'll e-mail her for you if your interested.

If you want any help at all please feel feel to E-mail or PM me and I will help in anyway I can.

Loups.

Hey Xyla,
If you're looking for a pretty serious HP message board, I suggest http://www.xsorbit4.com/users/ChoChang/index.cgi It's a pretty selective community of people dedicated to HP and they want people who can carry on an intelligent Harry Potter conversation, which means, of course, it'd be perfectly wonderful for you and the people in these forums to register. (which, by the way, is a compliment because sites have to be checked before one gives out the website, and I checked Imladris with her.) You should definitely check it out. BTW, my name there is Parmaysha. I think there are probably people who dress up and stuff there--you can check. Hope it helped!

How conveiniant! I write too many fan fics than is probably healthy for me!

Um... Big Harry Potter fan... Talk to GoldenPhoenix... She has, like, every single product they made AND that special gold-cover edition of the Sorcorer's/Philosopher's Stone. (Don't tell her I told you.)

I'm a big HP fan when it comes down to it. When you say that around HERE, well.... But the biggest fan thing I do is read the books over and over and try to immitated JKR's wonderful writing.

As to great fan sites, well... all i know is fan fics. Blah. I'm even more unhealthy than Moxie! lol!

PS: I'm BACK! And I'm in Egypt and my computer's up again... I hate Egypt.
